I guess that's cool? But I don't understand how it helps out the average fan are they going to reduce concessions and ticket prices? is the TV subscription that I buy going to be cheaper? is any of this at all going to affect me or just a few people at the top?

In the competitive world we live in as college football fans the fact that our university can double the amount of money they are making means we can lure higher caliber coaches if needed. More easily make upgrades to stadium and facilities as a whole. Increase off field staff numbers and recruiting budget easily etc. This is great for us as a fan as it gives our team we root for a competitive advantage financially. Now it just has to be utilized correctly by Trev and the rest of the brass.

Very good but really Trev should just forget fixing the stadium and just go all Road Warriors!  No more issues with drunken fans. Cleaning up those beer cans, poopsi cups, pizza pie boxes, balloons polluting the Atlantic, traffic jams around Lincoln, wear and tear in roads, gas wasted, etc etc.

If we can’t kick Bama and Buckeye a$$ on the road every week-end, we don’t deserve to even have a football team.  After all, Neb fans are spoiled brats that stupidly think things ought be fair!    Enough crybaby stuff.

The Nebraska Nomads! I like it!

He'll go somewhere, not start, transfer, get picked up by a power program, win the Heisman, win the NC, get drafted top 5, take his team to the Super Bowl......and Husker fans will condemn Frost and Whipple for not taking him.

    Naaaa....that would never happen.

If he wins gatorade player of the year this is exactly what will happen

We get it.  You're pissed off that Frost is still here. You have made that very clear over and over again.

I am actually not pissed off that Frost is still here. Should he be? Probably not but he actually made at minimum 3 upgrades in his assistant coaches out of 4. Just seems odd how up in arms people are after 3 years of Fred and 4 years of Frost. I will cheer on the Huskers and hope they win every game in every sport. I hope Frost turns it around next season allowing Busch and Joseph to get the cupboards stocked up with NFL talent.

And you don't think circumstances were just a bit different in Frosts 3rd year??  Covid, no fans, etc... is the same circumstances Fred is facing this year?  Seriously man.  Neither has performed well but there is a drastic difference between the trajectory of both programs.

id imagine the trajectory over time for both is that neither will win a conference or national championship during their time at NU.

Hoiberg took over a program that was actually doing pretty good by Nebraska basketball standards.  We finished 4th in the conference in 2017-18 with a record of 22-11.  In 2018-19 we still had a winning record with 19 wins.  Both years went to the NIT.  Frost took over after Riley's team finished 4-8.  The two situations are nowhere near the same.

As far as competitiveness, the basketball team has played a couple close games but it is obvious his guys are quitting on him.  There is turmoil with players fighting, calling out coaches publicly, etc.  You never saw quit in the football team this past season save for maybe a little of the Minnesota game.  Frosts has his players playing for him.  Fred does not.  Frost isn't getting special treatment imo.  He is being given one more chance because he appears close to turning the corner.  Fred's team is showing the exact opposite.

I am comparing year 3's not this current year for Frost.

    No kidding.

Not to mention that Scott came to Neb with 2 years of G5 Head Coaching experience. Fred had nearly a decade worth of head coaching experience, half at a P5 school and half in the NBA. The level of incompetence shown by Fred is staggering.

and both are at the bottom of win % for their programs in our lifetimes.

I'm not necessarily in the Fire Hoiberg camp.  I honestly don't know what to think at this point.

But if you can't tell the difference between the competitiveness of the football team and the competitiveness of the basketball team, I don't know what to tell you.

Like the butt kicking Frost endured his 3rd year against tOSU? I understand they are different situations. I also understand that Frost took over a blue blood program and Hoiberg took over a never been program. I just wish a little more consistency existed in criticisms. We had close games this year against good teams. We had blowout losses to all sorts of teams. Simply saying it is apparent that Frost gets special treatment because MuH 9o'S

  9. honest question here.

I have heard the local media laugh and joke about how terrible the basketball team is and how you cant bring Fred back etc. Why did they not have the same tone after year 3 of Frost? Year 4 and we are "close" with Frost so he needs another year. Why isnt Hoiberg given a 4th year to see if he can be close in all his games? Hoiberg took over the absolute historically bad power conference program and has tried to continually flip the roster to make it better. It hasnt worked out at all. But why does Hoiberg is recruiting at the best level in nebrasketball history. Should we see if these last two high school classes can become something? Is that worse than having a new coach come in and have to completely flip the roster like Fred tried to do when he got here. Will the new coach be able to stock the cupboards at the B1G level to make us competitive? How many years will that take? 3 or 4? I just wish the media etc. would be fair on both sides of all of this.

    Interesting.

I would have thought players and coaches would have wanted it publicized as much as possible when a player enters the portal.  Players want everyone to know he's available.  Coaches want to know who's all available.  I know, they have access to the info behind the wall.  But, it's just another way they can find out if a big player becomes available.

I wonder why they are taking such steps to keep it so secret.  Actually, I thought the portal was openly available to the media.

going to really put a damper on the recruiting industry if they arent able to gain access and stay on top of it.

"The buyout number would decrease by $3.5 million for each season Hoiberg remains employed by NU. There is also mitigation language in Hoiberg’s contract that would decrease a potential buyout based on Hoiberg’s salary at his next job."

So really we are only looking at a difference of what it takes to hire a new coach. If our athletic department is so worried about a couple million bucks when they bring in what they bring in and they trot Fred back next season well....I have lost hope.
