  1. This "10-3" season reminds me a lot of the 9-3 record Solich had in 2003. We won 9 games against weaker competition and were blown out in the 3 losses.

Given that we're 5 years into Pelini's head coaching regime, what in the world could make you think things will magically change that we won't see these embarrassing losses anymore?

I'm not saying things are magically going to change. I just don't think now is the time for a coaching change. Bo has brought us to the CCG 3 out of the last 4 years now and yes I realize we lost all 3 of them but that in itself is an accomplishment. Next year is the year to get it done. We have almost all of our offense back and a ton of potential on defense. If we can't get it done next year then I believe it's time we start looking for someone else.

What teams did we beat to get to those CCGs? The BigXII North and the weakest the B1G has been in recent memory....we are devoid of coaching talent and player talent. We don't stack up to the top 15 at all. How are we closer to relevant? We are getting blown out worse than Cosgrove the last two seasons....odd that the more of Bo's recruiting classes our team has the more we lose by. We have known Bo's flaws for the last 5 years. They have been screaming at us and they have caught up. Hiring friends and buddies and putting in lackluster recruiting gets you to this point. I can handle a close loss where our team looks like it played its heart out and was well prepared. Problem is we don't have the horses for Bo's scheme and he refused to adjust to the talent he has.

Statistically we are worse than that team in average margin of defeat

  3. Decided to throw together some numbers for people to think about. When Frank was fired it was due to falling behind. We won games but when we faced good teams we got humiliated. It shows the Callahan debacle. Callahan actually took over a more talent depleted roster than Bo by a mile. Bo was left with loads of talent that needed to be coached correctly.

    Average Margin of Defeat

    2012 23.3

    2011- 19.75

  4. didnt nick saban get absolutely destroyed by nebraska back in the day...he is doing pretty good for himself now...bo is in his 5th year as a head coach we will be lucky if he stays. Yes the blowouts blow, but bo has done a pretty good job. he is matching what a legend before him in osborne did with 9+ wins/yr. I would like to see perhaps a less complicated d line scheme and hopefully we can recruit some bigger d lineman for this conference. another problem is the fumbles, here is my thoughts, you have to absolutely take it personally as a player on the team to not fumble letting the rest of the team down, if you cant hold onto the ball then put the next guy in because it is hurting the team, thats just a couple things i hope we look into during the offseason and b4 the bowl game...we will see

Again he loses twice as many games as TO a year. You cannot compare the two. To never lost 70-31 and gave up 500 yds rushing either

  5. I would have much rather had a 9 win regular season, and actually win something of importance, than to have a 10 win regular season and get blown out by a 7-5 team in the championship game.

That 10-3 looks a lot better with a championship next to it.

There's always next year I guess. I just shudder at the thought of Bo-Bo the Clown's defense going up against Braxton in next year's CCG.

We will have to get past Mich and Devin G first....not liking that match up. With as many balls bounced our way this year I worry that we won't get those breaks next year.

I would also like for everyone to stop bringing up the 9+ win bologna. That standard was set when we played 11 games a year and a down year was 9-2. Bo wins as many games but loses twice as many. Not the same at all...Bo needs to clean house in regards to his staff.

    1. Barney and Garrison gone. People may disagree with Garrison but he is responsible for this OL product just like Barney.

    2. Els gone. Average RC. Very poor ST coord and subpar LB coach. Coached mid major for 20 yrs for a reason.

    3. Papuchis gone. It is Bo's defense but how he can defend his DC is Callahanish. Most rushing yards given up, allowing 60+ pts twice this season. The UCLA debacle to boot. Can't defend him if he really is the DC and if he isn't he hasn't helped the defense do anything productive obviously.

    4. S&C program house cleaning. Pay Wisconsins S&C coach stupid money to come here. They are built like Nebraska used to be. Our OL and DL look small and weak and lack push when against a decent front.

    5. SE needs to sit down with Bo and explain to him that these blowout losses show regression not progression in the product. Embarrassing losses will hurt us in so many ways.

All in all I was in total disbelief seeing us be so badly out coached. In all actuality what I saw I knew was there already. Bo can slide past below average to average teams but when facing a team with equal or slightly superior talent he is shown how inept he is as a coach and recruiter.

You need to surround yourself with the best of the best. When you look at our coaching staff which program would want our coaches in equal positions on their staffs? I am talking top 15 kind of teams which is what we should be every season.

We are not any closer to becoming elite than we were in year 1 or 2 of Bo. In all reality we have as mentioned before regressed. The losses are worse and last night it felt like Franks last year and that made me sick to my stomach

  6. I think hes ours, and soon.

Prepare to be very happy :ahhhhhhhh

Sounds that way. Wisconsin seems to be looking elsewhere.

Should have officially been N this week....feel like he wants to make me look worse than I already do on the board

  7. Our team is focused and hungry. Our seniors know what it feels like to have championships in your grasp and have them pulled away. I don't think we lose this game. I am sure Wisky has the "revenge" factor but we have the unfinished business factor. We will punish them this game and make BB cry.

  8. If Ohio State couldn't get Bo, I find it hard to believe ANYWHERE would get him. Ohio State is a wealthy program with a fanatical fanbase, successful history, good talent, good recruiting base, great facilities, and has great tradition and culture where, if i recall correctly, HE PLAYED FOOTBALL. With all of those good things going for it, he still turned them down. This says Nebraska is where he wants to be. Until it is no longer his choice, he is staying.

Urban Meyer was obviously tOSU's top choice, for good reason. It would have been interesting if they would have been more interested in Bo and made it known publicly. It would have been an interesting situation to say the least.

Bo was the first person they wanted, but Bo denied the job, said he had no interest. If he would have said he would take it, I am almost positive they would have stopped their search and Meyer would never have been mentioned. Like I have said before in another thread, this is Bo's home. He has a lot of love for the program, the players & alumni, and a lot of love for the fans, whether most see it or not. He isn't going anywhere. This is his home, not because I am saying it, but because the facts are right there in front of everyone. He came back to Nebraska. I don't think it was because of it just being for a HC gig, but for that option to coach where he loved coaching at. If UT and NU were both to offer him a job at that time, I whole heartily believe, he would have still chosen Nebraska.

This is the first time I ever heard that Bo turned down the Ohio St job, or declined to interview or however you want to put it. Is there any supporting evidence at all of this? Link?

You won't find a link, but it happened precisely as the poster put it. tOSU came calling right before 2011 season. Bo has turned down a ton of jobs. The only thing that made him even consider anywhere else was after the aTm deal. Harvey was getting a ton of pressure from Delaney about how "non-big ten Bo was acting."

I have to disagree. Bo was not offered tOSU job. He wasn't even interviewed via phone or anything. He had his agent put out feelers just like he has for multiple BCS gigs. This I am 100% certain of. Urban was #1 from the get go for them and why wouldn't he be?

  9. Officer used a taser on him too!

A kid of his size, it was probably needed. Stupid stupid. Football was his ticket and he may have thrown that away. I hate to say it, but really???????? Really dude??????????????

has some growing up to do. Hopefully he can turn it around in JUCO and at the very least earn a college degree to help better his life down the road. Hate to see kids like this fail. Has all the talent needed to develop into a solid player. Just gotta get that head on his shoulders working!

  10. Just talked with a few people and this has no legs at all. With the team Bo has coming back next season etc and the potential to grab a B1G championship and play in a BCS bowl his stock will rise after next season. If he leaves that will be when in my opinion unless they throw a stupid number at him like 4.75 mil a year.

    Bo's saltwater aquarium guy?

No his Podiatrist....always has the goods! If it has feet it has legs! The salt water aquarium guy used to give me solid info...lately it has became rather fishy though...
