Given the buyout, there are none. The AD is, essentially, stuck with him for another year.

If we wait until next year what is his buyout and salary at that point? Still paying him 18 mil arent we? 15 buyout and his salary?

Hell yeah brother! Glad I'm not the only one drunk on a Tuesday afternoon! :cheers:waste:wasted

Man I'm just gonna be positive right now. What the hell is negativity going to do? Make me miserable? I'll let the losses do that during the season if they occur. Until then screw it.

You could be right but we do get looks from some of the better recruits so you never know, annedge in facilities could be just the ticket to that one or two “difference makers” so many talk about.  It is true that we really have not had any real difference makers lately.  Maybe a couple in the latest group.  And maybe, just maybe, Whipple and Joseph or even Raiola could be the key to turn things upward. We have to find something to hang hope from.  I just dread an entire offseason with so little anticipation.

I hope academics are not forgotten because getting good grades really makes college a lot more fun and worthwhile.  Boredom is the worst emotion for college aged people  - it leads to bad choices in many areas.  College should be a great experience in many ways imo.  Winning will help too but it’s more than winning.

some times bad choices result in a good time. Sure it might burn and itch for a few days.

Here we go with the kool-aid pumping.  I am excited to see what the media department and the sports writers will come up with between now and August.  I am not buying any of it until I see it.

Enjoy sitting on the sidelines as we ride our drunk asses to 15-0 muthatrucka

So is Dawson coaching the interior lineman and edge/OLB?  Doesn't he have previous experience coaching DL?  I forget, thanks.

From the sounds of what Frost had to say it sounds like Busch will be helping out a little on defense. I would imagine he will help with OLBs with Chins.

Can’t disagree with that but I’m more concerned about the team finishing ranked in the top 20 than the recruiting. Sure to some extent they go hand in hand but, with the portal and NIL deals, retention of recruits, development and success in the portal is probably more important than any point in time recruiting ranking. But you are correct, we need Jimmies and Joes too.

we need a few top 2 rd draft picks on the roster more years than not. The last 1st rounder at NU was recruited by Bill Busch.

I agree. With this schedule 8 or 9 should be expected. Less than 8 and I’m okay with a complete reset.

I am simply hopeful for 7+ regular season wins. That and a year of Busch and Joseph recruiting will get us back to a top 20 class. Thompson here for 2 years should make for the potential for a great 2023. Again that all depends on how 2022 goes though. Regardless of who the HC is in 2023 I want Busch and Joseph on this staff.

I agree with that. However, now days being an AD is much more than that.  It's fundraising, marketing, construction planning and management....etc.  I'm sure there's more.  The job is much more than when Devany took over and being a good coach was enough.

Cook could do it, he has immediate respect in this state. If Barry Alvarez can do it John Cook can

For folks that didn't follow through to the column, Cook essentially said (in so many words) that Moos was a good guy, but asleep at the wheel and AD support wasn't there for most of the programs.

If Trev steps down, moves on, or he and Mark May finally have the battle to end all battles, then I think Cook should get a serious shot.

I'd trust Cook to be able to help develop coaches and provide them with the proper resources to excel in their craft as well as the ability to identify amazing coaches.

Agreed.  That is a special talent our RB's seem to possess and can't get coached out of.  My guess is it's a combo of OL blocking and "sense" as the play is developing.

Vision is something many of our backs havent seemed to have lately. I think Yant has decent vision and I think Ajay Allen has very high level vision.
