He's no Whipple.
How many top 10 offenses has Whipple coached in his career?

I think you guys will be pleasantly surprised when you see a good coordinator call offensive plays. It's been a while since we've had one. Good coordinators can hide issues and magnify strengths.
Whipple is some sort of sorcerer...
Frost is a high level coordinator. His issue has been he surrounded himself with people who had far too many flaws and weaknesses that he wasnt able to cover up at the P5 level in my opinion.

(SO) Teddy Prochazka / Brant Banks (SO)
(JR) Nouredin Nouili / Ethan Piper (SO)
(SO) Turner Corcoran / Trent Hixson (SR)
(rFR) Henry Lutovsky / Kevin Williams Jr (JR)
(SO) Bryce Benhart / Anthony Hunter (JR)
I think Hunter will start over Benhart personally.

Wait, how is he considered one of ours? Is it his practice squad stint with the Omaha Nighthawks that gives us the right to claim him?
He played at Wisconsin and Barry Alvarez was the AD during that time so anyone who was at Wisconsin during the time of Alvarez is basically our distant cousin, thus one of ours.

Perhaps he's a good coach? Someone who showed good things in his interview? Frost needs to win now, not hope for an in on a 2024 recruit that could start four years from now.
Frost interviewed other guys and liked him the best. I sure hope he didnt do it for a QB recruit that wouldnt be on campus until what? 2025.

The benefits of having a good S&C coach.
It is interesting. In the Sean Callahan interview with Hunter Anthony (OL transfer from Okie State) he said we lift completely different at Nebraska. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing considering Okie State wins a lot more games than us.

If by 'nearly half' you mean 'nearly 13%' then you're correct.

Tell me that guy has never been to the Omaha metro without telling me that guy has never been to the Omaha metro.

A healthy Thompson plays like a pro QB… injured Thompson looks like injured Martinez.
We have so many RB we should play rugby style.Doesn't look like we did anything with the O line so far…. still relying on our injured tackle as the best player.
Judging by what we saw from defense at the end of the season, losing JoJo will leave a Lavonte David size hole. Looks like the D line might be weaker too. Pretty good job recruiting the secondary.
I think the portal recruits will make special teams a thousand times better.
I mean we brought in an OG and OG/OT with college football starting experience via the transfer portal. Out of who was available how do you think we could have done more?

Raiola has the biggest question mark. Will see after this season if it was a good or bad hire! We'll learn a lot about Chinander this year.
I have learned a lot about chins each year he has been here and continued to improve with an offense and special teams that hung him and the defense out to dry all the time.

Agree with all of this.
but I truly have no prediction, or expectation, for wins or losses. I think coaching wise we took a giant leap forward on the offensive side. A couple of older guys that can mentor frost is a bonus to their football and recruiting savvy
Is weak, or young and unproven?
Teven Jenkins on the Bears told Hunter Anthony that he would have loved an opportunity to play for Raiola in college.

OL coach is the weakest hire,
from being on the outside looking in! sf brought more bad coaches to this staff then good ones. Development has almost been non-excistant!
Which of the coaches on our staff would you consider bad?
OC/QB- Whipple
DC- Chinander
AHC/WR Coach- Joseph
ST Coord- Busch
RB- Applewhite
TE- Beckton
OL-Raiola
DL-Dawson
LB-Ruud
DB-Fisher

Casey Thompson must have made pretty good NIL money last year to be able to take the whole O-line room out to eat and bowling
I would imagine he already has some things lined up here as well.

When I start thinking about the season next year I have to do breathing exercises to ensure I don't hyperventilate and pass out. When my wife and I make love I recite next years schedule and she responds with WIN after each game.

Indiana beat Frost’s Huskers in Lincoln…
Nebraska does exchange OSU and MSU for “easier” games against Rutgers and Indians. But what does that mean? There’s a better chance to win 4 or 5 games instead of just the 3?
All the question marks you mentioned plus the fact that Frost hasn’t shown he can get results has me pretty down on the prospects of 2022.

would be nice to get the top prospects in the state N before the season starts.

Was at Junior Day today.
Has known Whipple since elementary school. Had a Pitt offer.
Visiting UMass next weekend. Looking to visit Pitt. Says he'd like to be back to Nebraska again this spring and fall.
wouldnt surprise me if this was our QB for 2023.

I don't understand the narrative that Iowa and Wisconsin are on the same level in terms of O-line development. Wisconsin has been a powerhouse rushing the ball for a decade. Iowa rarely finishes in the top half of the nation in rush yards per game. Nebraska, crappy O-line and all, has been a far better rushing team than Iowa since Frost arrived.
Mostly due to how it seems they have an OL drafted every year.

I had high hopes for Ho'ohuli. Wonder where he ends up.
Kid hasn't played football since 2019. Interested to see who shows interest other than Hawaii. Would look good on June Jones for bringing him home.

There have been a couple notable ones recently who went to other schools:
Noah Fant - Iowa All American TE/Denver Broncos
Harrison Phillips - Stanford All American DL/Buffalo Bills
Fun fact I just learned also was that Austin Ekeler was born in Lincoln.
wouldnt have minded having Bryson Williams on the DL too instead of on Wisconsins....

Seems like the same old story doesn't it? Iowa and Wisconsin are laughing at us while they develop their lines.
if Iowa could develop a QB they might have something.

Really? He said that? Because he was telling us then that it was only about culture.
a little revisionist history perhaps.
and I think that there is enough physical talent to go around to most div one teams- which I guess what the stars represent. 90%+ of d1 probably posses similar size/strength/speed relative to possession. The upper echelon are freaks and I guess the goal is to get as many freaks as possible.
Yep, Petey Pablo had it right all those years ago.
