  1. Which is what you will need to happen, unless the Huskers beat them in Ann Arbor which i don't see happening.
  2. I have a feeling it will be played
  3. I honestly feel the B1G will be much better next year compared to last year. Then again, it's not much harder for a power conference to have a worse year than last year, but nonetheless i think as a conference our pre-season record and bowl records will be improved. That will result to better rankings for the conference teams!
  4. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...and obviously you think Scout has some good eyes.
  5. The two programs (WIsky and NU) reflect each other alot more than Iowa does. and also Iowa sucks and it's not nearly as much fun to beat a team that sucks then one that has won the BIG the last 3 years MMM, that will change. The 2010 and 2011 Wisconsin teams were good...the 2012 Wisconsin team not so much.
  6. I think Wisconsin vs Nebraska is going to be a rivalry...
  7. I do like the B1G teams (except for TTUN) but you're right, i mainly do it so Ohio State looks better, and has a better shot and going to a good bowl. In terms of the bottom pack of the SEC, It gives them something to say at the end of the year if they went 7-5 and the rest of their conference are playing in National Championships and BCS bowls. Also, the SEC has done great recently in the bowl games, that just makes the bottom of the pile teams look better. That's why they root for Alabama, Florida, LSU, etc.
  8. Pretty much exactly how i see it. However, on some cases i have a real hard time rooting for Michigan. It really depends on the situation. lol
  9. So you're taking it way beyond football, that won't help Nebraskas attempts to as you put it, be a first tier program again. Nebraska is apart of the B1G now.
  10. I only care how they perform if it is in my best interest. Unfortunately schools like Iowa or Illinois(whom should be better every year) don't care so relying on ann arbor to be better is a must for image. If they lose to someone in a bowl game I will shake my head, chuckle about it and get back to worrying about the Bucks. In conference? don't care but they always end up pulling something out of their arse vs Northwestern ,PSU or Sparty to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat This is why Big Ten basketball is so much simpler. to hell with ann arbor and Indiana. I hope they both get knocked out in the first round because I can always root for Sparty to carry the Big Ten torch since Tom Izzo is my second favorite coach. True lol. Although i always root for any B1G team to beat scUM. ONly times i root for them is when they play a non B1G school.
  11. Pretty much my thought. If NU had won the past two Capitol One Bowls, I'd have been chanting "Go Big Red", not "Go Big Ten". OH yeah, i don't want to be like the SEC. I'm just saying it's important for the conference to be respectable and have good showings on the field for you team to get any respect. It will matter a lot when the selection commitee decides whether to put a 1 loss B1G team or a 2 loss SEC team in the playoff system.
  12. It's because you remind us of Texas. It's not because we lost to you guys in the Shoe. Ohio State & Michigan run the Big Ten just like Texas & Oklahoma ran the Big XII. The best recruits in the conference are in your backyard (just like Texas) and Michigan has to cross the border to recruit (just like Oklahoma). You both are large, wealthy universities that are successful in a number of sports. You're just the new Texas in our minds, that's all. For the record, I don't mind Urban Meyer. He's a hell of a lot better than Mack Brown. . As a fan, I refuse to relinquish control of the B10 to Oho St. and Michigan..... I would hope the Nebraska program feels the same way.... Historically, and currently, what have they done that we can't do, or already haven't done? Nebraska is their equivalent..... It comes down to winning. Nebraska has only been in the B1G for 2 years so i don't think you can make a case either way. Time will tell who will control the B1G from now on with Nebraska being in.
  13. Yeah, I never understood that either. I mean, there really is only 1 Ohio St. It's not like there's 3 or 4 others with the same or close-to-it name. They are the only Ohio St. We're The Nebraska University. Aren't you guys the University of Nebraska?? THE Ohio State University. it's ok if you don't understand it. It's just like GBR, or HUSKER POWER. Almost every university has "the" in front of it. Micigan is the universtiy of micigan, the universtiy of alabama, but when you never hear them say "the" when they talk about their school Yes i know, but it's THE Ohio State University...the University part coming at the end unlike the other schools. But anyway, it's not a recent thing. Ohio State has always emphasized THE in the name. It's just part of tradition.
  14. Yeah, I never understood that either. I mean, there really is only 1 Ohio St. It's not like there's 3 or 4 others with the same or close-to-it name. 15. Well every coach goes after kids and tries to flip them until signing day...every single coach. That's not a bad recruiting tactic. “We do need to as a conference need to keep pushing that envelope to be better,” Meyer said “Our whole conversation [at the Big Ten coaches meeting] needs to be about ‘how do we recruit?’ When you see 11 of the SEC teams are in the top 25 that’s something that we need to improve.” And you know what, i think Meyers presence is helping the B1G. From the 2011 year, to 2012, 4 schools increased their recruting budget by 96k+. 10 schools increased their budget in general. Nebraska increased its recruiting efforts from $478,554 to $757,681. I think part of this increase is because of Meyer, maybe that's just me, but i doubt it.
  16. Not at all, someone above stated they didn't like Ohio State, and then another person above stated they would never root for Wisconsin/Michigan. And i don't think Meyer thinks he owns the place, he went a whole year in the conference and observed. He didn't say one thing about the differences he sees in the B1G and SEC until just recently. The SEC at the moment is better than the B1G and Meyer sees that and he wants the conference to improve. I don't get why people make it a big deal of what he said. All he said was the B1G needs to change some things to get back on track. IT'S TRUE. When the conference does better, the individual teams do better. That's why i always root for B1G teams against other conferences. Because when my team plays them, it makes my team look better when we win.
  17. That's a problem...why do you have to hate Ohio State? Please don't let it be because of the 2012 game... Urban. Oh. I don't think he is as bad of a guy as people make him out to be. If he wasn't as succesful as he is, people wouldn't give a f#*k about what he has done. and what has he done?? said he he would never coach again and then took a job at Ohio State?
  18. Well in terms of on the field performance, i wish the B1G was the SEC.
  19. That's a problem...why do you have to hate Ohio State? Please don't let it be because of the 2012 game...
  20. Just a select group of Husker fans i know. I don't like generalizing the whole base on just a few people.
  21. Do Nebraska fans have any pride in the conference, meaning do they care one way or the other how the other teams perform. Am i wrong on this? I'm an Ohio State fan by the way.
  22. Why don't you like him? Even I hate Herby. He is a dope and I know plenty of people who agree. Next time College Gameday comes to Columbus watch for a protest on camera. Herby got a very popular radio host fired in the fall. Hate is a strong word.
