You can pretty much assume anyone who started their career as a walk-on (even if they were on scholarship at one point) and most of the guys transferring in each year are not technically on scholarship. Also guys coming back for 5th/6th years - my understanding is guys who sign out of high school get that scholarship for 4 years, but after that they could be taken off. Several high school guys are not on scholarship either. There are a lot more than 10 guys in those buckets.

    I'm talking scholarship players!

Oklahoma, Rutgers and Creighton . When did three become most of 11?   But you also fail to mention the times the bullpen held strong and allowed us to come back late in games

    Grand Canyon Sunday

    All three Charleston games

    Northwestern

NDSU m they got out of 4 jams with guys on base

Most bullpens have blown leads, it sucks when they happen but the numbers don't lie, the BULLPEN gave up 2 wind blown homers before the 9th last night. second one probably would have been a homer without the wind but you never know.

Perry isn't a closer, that's obvious but the guy who should be isn't throwing strikes at the moment.

Even close games, our bullpen let the game get out of hand.  We only have 2 reliable starters & no closer.  These starters have an era of 1.68, the rest of the team is 4.85.  The starters have pitched 1/3 of the total innings with 20 BB, 6 HP & 3 WP.  The rest of the team is 82 / 31 & 29.  Pathetic!!!!

I can't imagine Fred is keying on guys that nfeed a year or so to develop.  He needs guys that will contribute NOW.

He also needs bench players with extra years of eligibility.  As of right now, we are Sr heavy.  You need some core players past next yr. Gavin fits that mold.

If they only have 4 qb's on the roster and three are scholarships and one is a walk on hopefully it doesn't come to that.  I only asked bc recent Nebraska starting qb's have gotten hurt throughout the years and we have had to go to back ups.

There are 6 on the roster.

Do you think Nebraska is going to look at adding any qb's from the transfer portal to add more depth or is just fine with having only 3 scholarships qb's on the roster and hope none get hurt??

We are double digits over the limit right now!!!

I may be in the minority here, but my gut feels like tonight feels like a must win game. We don’t want to head into a weekend series vs Maryland losing 4 of last 5, including the second time to Creighton.

Creighton is going to start one of their better pitchers.  ACC is a not good this year & Creighton has a poor SOS.  More of a must win for them.  Plus, we have not found a #3 weekend pitcher, besides a weekday starter.

So, is this guy the one that's going to replace Tominaga?  Or, at least try to.

I did not realize he was freshman last year.  I hope he comes Nebraska

Wow that fast??!!!  Just from watching his jr season highlights he looks like a smaller version of Jordan Westerkamp.  If he has a great sr season could he be bumped up to a four star commitment or bc of lack of size hurt him in recruiting rankings?

Who cares about his rating. He is a Husker!

Things looking good for both Worster and Griffiths.  Washut put in CBs for both

They fit offensively, but they don't seem real athletic. Thus questioning their def. quickness. Texas A&M exploited our guards.

@SouthLincoln Husker mostly I agree with your stance on the bullpen but a large part is a result of stress caused by no run support. Friday was inexcusable, today, like most Sunday's went the way it often goes. Regardless, maybe the players will refocus and come to field with an improved enthusiasm. Time will tell. This weeks midweek and weekend series is huge for the year.

The bullpen has been blowing leads!  There was little stress when you have a 4 to 5 run lead.  The thing that are an ongoing issues is pitching from behind & the lack of control.  Twice today our def. was set up a shift & the pitcher threw a pitch to the outside & the batter pulled a grounder through the right side.
