  1. No doubt. Unreal. Good job KSU. And one thing the upset does for Husker Nation is preserve the legacy our teams from '71 and '95 have as the best teams in CF history. Thanks KState!! BRM
  2. yes, and your gut sounds like it knows what its thinking. read DT's quotes after learning of solich's fate: "I was hurt," McDowell said. "I was hurt for Coach Solich. He's a good coach and a great person to be around. He's a real cool guy, for his age." "If (Solich) goes to another college," McDowell said, "I would hope they recruit me."
  3. Gillespie is gonzo, and today's victim of the pederson rampage. He was the assistant AD, so no big shock here. http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...dbe0a1878f30c01 Heres a page the OWH put together to track the "transformation". http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=528&u_...13&u_sid=598456 Who knows what the face of Nebraska football will look like "AD". Had to drop a biblical reference, b/c I almost expect Pederson to begin reciting the Samuel L Jackson/Pulp Fiction line before each wacking. Who will be next? Jamrog maybe? hopefully. later-
  4. Rumor of the day was that Bill Snyder was seen around Lincoln. Hah! these are getting good! This is BS for several reasons. 1) Snyder would not be in Lincoln the Tue before the big 12 championship 2) Pederson would not recruit Snyder - bottom line he is too old. We need a guy in his 40's that can put 20+ into the program. 3) To be honest, Snyder is a 2nd tier coach. Hasnt won anything. yes I realize he has done great things w/nothing, but he is not THAT esteemed around the country. kindof known as a gimmick type guy, who pads his record by playing cupcakes. not completely true, but that is his rep 4) Im not even sure Snyder would want the gig. He realistically only has 5 or so yrs left in his coaching shelf life, and that is about how long it would take to even get where kstate is today. hurts to admit it but its true. He may as well finish what he has worked so hard at. he is pretty good off right now and owns that town. Any rumors from anyone else? BTW, heres a link for the "official" prospects according to the OWH http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_pg=38&u_sid=934367 BRM
  5. I agree that fans in general, and husker fans arent exempt to this, are somewhat fickle. Its the way of the world. So yes, if he brings in a champinoship, most will be forgiven. But only if this is done w/in a SHORT period of time. Pederson painted himself into a corner w/ this move, and he may not even have time to wait for the paint to dry. like blackshirt said, he set this precedent, now he has to lie in it. I disagree that it was handled the best that it could have. yes the situation was a difficult one, but guess what, pederson did this to himself. overall it was a debacle, b/c he deceived everyone and got away w/ it, and he has done it again by saying/implying Gill and the others are safe. of course he doesnt want their blood on his hands also, b/c hacking one Husker legend in one week is one too many for a 1st yr AD. plus he knows the impact it would have on the recruits if they knew all the others were in jeopardy too. he knows damn well that Gill wont come back, and why should he after getting smacked in the face when he usurped him with Pelini. I say pederdick put himself here, b/c I am of the belief that those "3 sources close to the program" were NOT fictitious. nor was the LJS out of line. As bad of a paper as the Lincoln Urinal can be, they nailed this one, and like one of the other posters said, they have been absolved. they reported the story, plain and simple, albeit a week before it was supposed to break. but that is just smart journalism. So you better believe pederson indicated the change to boosters. I dont give a rip if he didnt "directly" make his plans public, the innuendos and hints were obviously more than enuf. And why anybody would believe a guy in pederson's situation is beyond me. the guy has everything to lose by being exposed. He is a big business tycoon, who's definition of integrity is whether or not he got caught doing it. He has already lied to the faces of Husker nation, not to mention the coaches and the players, and no one should think that it wont continue, until it either breaks him or he comes up golden. He's a gambler. you can see it. if this were vegas he'd be playing roulette with all his chips on husker red 13, b/c if this new coach doesnt produce NOW, pederson might as well fire himself, b/c Husker nation will be ALL OVER HIM. We owe it to Solich to watch over the program, and not lay down for this honk. Bottom line, my theory is this: Pederson purposely dropped the hints of his plans for Solich to boosters, knowing that they would remain anoyomous, and he wouldnt be directly tied to these statements. he wanted them to go public with them, to gauge solich's reaction. What did he have to lose? And many will say "alot, look what happened" I say to this, nothing more happened than would have naturally, other than a few extra days of speculation. The worst scenario was that he would have to fire solich. and YES he was getting whacked the day after the CU game no matter if the story broke or not, just like the LJS said. He wouldnt have waited any longer-it would have just hurt the program more. The best case would have been that Solich recognized (which he did) that the rumors had credence, and he stepped down on his own w/out pederson being held accountable. You could tell Solich knew what was coming - based on the speech by Ron Brown at last week's big red breakfast (see post in this forum for quotes), but he wanted to make pederson grow a pair and do it himself, hoping it would end up making him look like an ass, which it did. Hence Pederson's scramble for damage control by spinning the situation and claiming a conspiracy by Solich backers and the LJS. Perlman drops in a cute little analogy of the stupid flippin broken clock, and bada bing bada boom, a perfect gloss no one saw coming, and diabolical and intriguing enough to make people that enjoy a good dramatic twist to EVERYTHING, eat it up. (as I obviously do too) When really pederson and most likely perlman were colluding to remove Solich the "easy" way. I know thats a lot to accept, but that is my theory dammit! plus it actually even sounds like it could be true. coming from a cut-throat corporate america environment, ive seen more bizarre things happen for the sake of the GR$$N. even if some RED is sacrificed. (hey that was a pretty good close!) PI in the box B)
  6. This is pure hearsay at this point, but the hottest rumor of the hour is that Steve Spurrier will be our new coach. He actually was in Lincoln today for a speaking engagement, so he may have met with Pederson. And according to the local "cable guy", he just got done hooking up Steve's new spread. I think this is a crock of steaming BS, but creates an interesting debate. First of all how the hell would he already have cable hooked up if he just interviewed today?! Unless this was in the works long ago. But still, I dont care who you are, it takes an act of god to get a friggin cable appt in Lincoln. Oh wait, then again Pederson thinks he is God, so he may have pulled some strings..
  7. Big loss here. couldve been the "new" frazier. and I imagine the landslide will begin. thanks for the info Nzone. brm
  8. absolutely disgusting. and we thought it was bad w/ Mr Byrnes and smithers around. when he went to A&M I was relieved..................... now this. Now I feel like a fan of a "professional" team, although this move was the antithesis of "pro". my god. I dont know how many Husker fans we will "lose" from this, b/c our roots go much deeper than one fuk like Pederwacker, but I'll tell you one thing, like Eric said, we were known for being that team that maintained integrity over greed, and all that. Many of our fans became fans simply b/c of those morals which we stood by. No more. So expect to lose many potential fans b/c of this. Not to mention recruits, like Nzone said we just lost DT Mcdowell b/c of the move, the super phenom of a QB that couldve replaced Frazier in the books. And like those other posters said, who the hell wants to come to a place where it's "win 11 or else". It feels like the Chicago Bulls right now. very disappointing and embarassing. I do agree that peder must have had it in for him from the beg. B/c why wouldnt they have just canned him last year?! whata scumbag. You know he told his handjob of a buddy in Pitt that he'd have him a job in 2 years. I think he has to be the frontrunner. He is pederdicks "guy". pedercok brought him in to save Pitt, and pederjohnson got all the cred. This jerkoff is a power hungry POS and he wants nothing more than to be known as "the guy" that brought in "the guy" to save the program. even if Solich couldve done the same thing, in LESS time. We lose SO much institutional knowledge here. very sad day for Husker Nation. Guys, we just took a 5 year step in the wrong direction. And did anybody stop to think about our 2nd greatest loss to the program, and one which may have even bigger implications? Thats right. Dr. Tom Osborne. He can not be happy with this move. This is a slap in the face to the Great One. And if he continued to support the program, at least openly, he would be viewed as "endorsing" the move. Huge loss. Keep us posted Eric or anyone else that has the latest. GBR brm
  9. Well I hate to fulfill the little purple panzies fantasy of being double teamed by 2 huskers, but I couldnt resist. Just keep the phallic requests and your dreams of Fusking a Hucker to yourself. B/c its obvious you dont have anyone else to ramble to about your myopic purple haze that you spend your life in. So wash the purple paint off your unit, b/c your superbowl was 2 weeks ago. I agree its not very interesting, but we seem to be the topic of HF's fantasy, so lets take a closer look at kstate fan. First of all I have to ask, where would you "fans" be if Kstate hadnt started cheating err.. winning? And if you try to tell me you believe Snyder has been 100% legitimate you are as foolish as your mascot looks. No way he convinces blue chip players to go to a hole like woManhattan with 0 tradition, without some serious "incentives". But thats not the point. You rip our fans for being disappointed enough to leave the game early, but your fan base is fickle, shallow and superficial.. *Pause for dictionary usage* I'd be more than ready to give you hacks credit if you could show me more ticket stubs than yer wives got teeth, from before Snyder and the “friends of the program” came along. Husker fans have been there. Bottom line. I know you will say its much easier to be a fan when all we've done is win, but our sellout streak began long before our first championship. So guess what, as much as I disagree with the fans not staying around to show their respect to the seniors, they have earned the right to leave a little early from an embarrassment of a game to an artificial program like kstate. And I hate to break your purple little heart (no I don’t), but we still could care less about you honks; b/c you matter naught to us in the grand scheme of things. As much as the loss burned, we also realized long before that this was another transition year. Not that the loss was not acceptable, but it was also not nearly as devastating as it was significant to your program. So be satisfied w/ clipping us 4 times in 30 years. Be satisfied w/ 2 big 12 championship losses in your proverbial blackhole ofa trophy case. B/c we aren’t content. We aren’t satisfied with only 3 National championships in the past 9 years. And guess what? Its only 3 years into the current decade, and we've already made one national championship appearance. Thats one more than we had at this time in the '90's, and 100% more than you’ve had in the history of your program. Yes HF, you can run your excrement about all we have is history, which is your ONE anemic counter argument. The funny part is, all you are doing is contradicting yourself, b/c folklore is exactly what you WISH you had. My god your Husker envy is disturbingly obvious. So back away from the refresh button hack, b/c we dont care about you nearly as much as you do about us. BigRedMachine - and dont forget it, The Little Purple Puffer that couldnt do sh#t
  10. Who's your pick and why? I'll go with Josh Bullocks. Several game changing plays.
  11. I am flat out embarassed for 2 reasons: 1) the fans on saturday. I understand its not always easy to be "proud" husker fans at all times, especially after that. But that was simply disrespectful to the program and all the seniors that have worked their ASSes off for the past 18+ yrs of their lives. Most of them will not continue to play football, and that will be their last moment at a game in Memorial, and that is how they are remembered? Red dots scattered throughout the stadium instead of a red sea?! flat out emabarassing. I know the game sucked and all that, but anyone who went and left early should be embarassed for themselves. 2) Pelini's comments: Yes maybe he had a valid complaint, since we were playing our 5th string 5th year seniors and Billy insisted on playing his 1st squad. But you dont complain about it. Whining is not becoming, and only makes us look even more foolish than we already did. You dont need to run dirareha stained laundry up the flag pole for everyone to see, which is exactly what Pelini did by whining about kstate "running up the score". f-in embarassing. shut the hell up Bo. Or heres an idea, PLAY BETTER!! Dont rely on a team to play worse. And even if they are bad sports, shut up, mark it in your personal hit book, put it in your back pocket and pin it on your bulletin board for motivation. But keep it w/in the program! On a positive note I thought that article Eric shared was great. Good to see dignity and class get some recognition for a change. It goes overlooked far too often. Not saying we're perfect, but like he said, it's the way "everyone should be". Better days are ahead friends. take care- brm
  12. Hey guys, If you need some quality equipment for batting practice, check out my site: http://www.battingnets.com If you are a Husker fan, I'll also give you another 5% discount, just ask. BRM
  13. At this point in the season, I like what I see so far. From the looks of the D they appear to have that heart and moxie back from years past. Hopefully that pride alone will win several games this year, b/c the offense doesn’t seem to have the potency. Although I will say - even though Im one of the only ones - that Lord is making progress. He’s certainly not the natural talent that Dailey is, but unfortunately talent wont get us through those tight games in Boulder and Austin. We’ve invested a lot of time in Lord and need his experience. But I do think the coaches are on to something with letting the D dictate the game. Minimize the opps for Lord to F up, which means run the ball and run the ball. If he can just connect on that 35 yard TE up the middle once every 15 plays, we may be able to mimic what we did w/ Frazier – who was NOT a good passer, I don’t give a sh#t what the drunks say. The only reason Frazier had the success he did was b/c Lo-Jack Lawrence Philips and Ahman Green and co opened sh#t up like a Texas cheerleader for him. Anyway, you never know, Ohio State pulled it off last year with a 1 sided approach. Just my red beers worth- Whatta ya other yutz'z think???????? GBR! BRM
  14. Man I have to say this guy gets me a little moist. He seems to have that smoothness about him, that intangible quality that just exudes confidence and success. I know its early, but holy shat you guys have to admit that he has some serious promise!! Fluid runner, smooth mechanical passer. Very Nice. Had a pitching problem with an option play, but that will come with time.. Go Joe-Yo
  15. Im not sure if this guy came up w/ this himself, but it was creative nonetheless. It said: That about sums it up!
  16. Lets just hope he doesnt dominate the bar scene like Farley did..
  17. This guy is far and away the MVP up to this point in the season. He has single handedly taken over the Utah St game up to this point - where he currently has 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles w/ 1 recovery in the 1st half!!!! He is well on his way to becoming the Big 12 defensive playa of the year, and most likely All American honors, if he continues this Farley-esque domination.
