Why wouldn’t someone like Herman, Mullen or Sark ( if he gets canned) come to be our OC?  If they turn the O around they just set themselves for another crack at a HC gig or at worst, a nice salary.    It’s got to be better than being some lame a$$ analyst somewhere.

I don’t think this is the program someone is really looking at to rebuild their brand and launch into a HC. Better bet and more realistic idea would be a “young” offensive mind with new ideas and energy.

  2. Wait a second.  I just logged in after a long time and some think we are going to the Big 12, 11, 10 9...Conference?  Yes I am too lazy to read all the threads, but I am drinking my favorite beer and smoking my favorite cigar.  Go back to a league that is in jeopardy of at best being a shadow of its former average self? That’s would be like taking a life boat off a perfectly good ship to row heavy seas to board the Titanic.

Around here today the talk is WVU looking toward the ACC.

Maybe you don't know this, but just because an event can "technically" can be defined as something prohibited by law, simply because certain boxes can be checked off, doesn't mandate that a specific charge needs to be filed.

Circumstances and context are also taken into consideration.

Its called the judicial process.  It was a felony.  So now do I have to explain the investigatory process: probable cause, what a preliminary hearing does,  and the arriagnment?   It should have been filed.  If a deal is made or a trail finds the facts call for lesser punishment or none at all is when that discretion is made.

Good lord, you think that was acting tough?  Dude, I am a HUGE sissy, trust me, I was not trying to act tough.  I also am pretty sad, both emotionally and in the way you meant it.  I am also super lazy (not sure that is an issue but no big deal)

So...I am guessing then that you think a 50 year old man that has tricked a 5 year old girl into playing dress up, takes pictures of her, sells them...is EXACTLY the same as a HS girl taking a picture of her boobs and sending it out.

Cool...Works for me!  We all gotta believe in something.

Like they say, some of the dumbest kids in school went on to teach public school.  Glad you sustained the image.

He won't answer the question.  Trust me, we all know this type.

He pretends that a 50 year old that is taking pictures of a 5 year old girl and selling those naked pictures is the same as a HS girl sending a boob picture...

I don't blame him, I would not answer it either.  He/She pained him/herself into a corner.

He/She also went with the "I hope you are not a parent" card...

Dude, I am around HS kids all day long...trust me..."your" little perfect princess...is not what you think.

You are a sad little man who would never act tough away from a keyboard.  If you are too lazy to go back and read, thats your issue.

So, every 16 year old who has sent nudes to their significant other in high school is a deviant? I'm guessing you weren't in high school with cell phones because based on my experience 90% of my school was a deviant child pornographer by your definition.

If you keep a video of a 15 year old and send it years later, yes, you are.   Sorry technology is an excuse for you to be a creep.

My post, if you were replying to me, wasn't about age of consent, it was about severity of the punishment.

    Huh?

Not directed specifically at you, but people are silly when it comes to the law. Something being illegal is a reason not to do it. It's not a reason not to question whether the law makes sense. Laws can and do change. And sometimes they change because there are examples that showed why the law needed to be adjusted. We are living in a time now when 14-18 year olds have nude selfies on their phones. And that would have been the case 30 years ago if smart phones existed then. One example of a reason to make changes to child porn laws has been posted already; a 16 year old could take a nude photo of themselves and be charged with it; that's just plain stupid.

Also, people are punished in different ways for the same crimes based on the circumstances. I believe this will be one of those times.

Clearly your entire knowledge of the legal system comes from Google search.  He is not being charged by federal guidelines.  Laws should change because we have cell phones?  LOL!!!   BY that reasoning we should have changed them when we developed cameras.

Okay, I can live with that.

Now answer this...do you think what he did is the same as a 50 year old man taking pictures of a 5 year old girl that he tricked into playing dress up?

If you can read, the answers are clearly stated above.

I am just glad that some of the folks on this board are not in a position of power. Some people really need a level head to assess the severity of a crime.

Also I am tired of people beating the child porn lingo to make this whole thing sound like he is a deviant pedophile

No, he sent child porn.  Sorry you don't like it but he was deviant.

Maybe I read a few of the posts wrong but you are an a$$h@!e if you think this case is the same as a 50 year old selling pictures of a 5 year old that he tricked the girl into taking while playing "dress up".

I would say you are an a$$hole if you think what he did was anything but disgusting.

  10. Age of consent differs between states. The youngest in America is 16.  Child pornography laws thankfully do not take this same stance when it involves distribution for obvious reasons. For those unaware, sending it over your phone qualifies.   The totality of the circumstances drive the sentences issued as well as if they will be placed on the sex offender registry.  He won't be viewed as a predator by the court, but innocent or something that should be legal, glad we live in different states.

Well that's great that you are so morally superior.  Maybe you should sit this season out until the case is heard

I have no problem with you being an ardent defender of due process and wishing that no punishment is  brought forth until that system is exhausted.  The NFL has the same issue of league punishment vs legal process.  I do have an issue if the reason you defend him is because a football team needs him to win games.

PS - I don't think being against him doing this is setting the morality bar very high.   Don't run under it.

  12. Here is what I do know:

Number one - it's not fake outrage.  I really do think he is a scumbag for doing it.  What you are sick of is immaterial.

Number two - I hope you are not a parent.

Number three - It has not been proven to be a rape.  If you read the posts that is what we were saying.

Number four - Yes, it was something he sent, he sent child pornography.  Maybe you don't know that a 15 year old qualifies.  He is either stupid or didn't care.

Number five -  Do I think he is a pedo?  Not at all by this alone.  I do think he is immature and lacks basic sense and morality for possessing and sending child porn.  The fact he kept a video like that when she is was that young shows he is a creep.

I agree and I’m not trying to pretend what he did wasn’t morally wrong but let’s not sit here and pretend like he’s some perverted pedophile.

I don't think he is either, of course I don't know him, but I doubt it.   I do know that pedophiles start early and often are not caught for decades.  That is why the law is the way it is written.

You really think Mo considered this to be child porn?  Him and the victim are pretty close in age.  Yes, it's child porn to you and I but I sincerely doubt he was thinking of it being that when it's someone who's almost the same age as him.

If he didn't, he is beyond stupid.  When this first was publicized, I asked my daughter, who is in the 7th grade, a hypothetical without names or leading questions regarding someone keeping a video of 15 year old girl having sex. No mention of rape.  She is advanced in her intellect, but she instantly said, almost verbatum, "They are sick losers for doing that and it is illegal because anyone who keeps or shares photos or videos of kids naked or having sex are possessing and sharing child pornography.  When I asked her how she knew these things she said kids are aware of the ways you can get into trouble with text messages or social media and only the dumbest or those don't care do things like that.  She also said the girl was lacking self esteem for doing it.

It would have taken minimal effort to add the word “alleged” and leaving it out seems like a deliberate move to make the action he took seem a lot worse; that makes it sensationalism to me. They are making it sound as bad as possible by calling it a sexual assault video. And to me it is a s#!t ton worse to send someone’s rape video to them vs. their consensual sex video to them.

For once we agree about an aspect of this issue.  It is certainly far more disgusting to send someone a video of them being raped than a sex tape.. One is in poor taste and the other is sick and evil.   Will we ever know whether he truly thought it was a consensual video or rape?  Not sure they will be able to prove it, but I am sure not as much benefit of the doubt would be granted in here to a student who was not a top player on the football team.  Still very comfortable with anyone having a video on their phone that depicts a 15 year old having sex. Not sure how anyone fails to realize that is child pornography that should be erased immediately.

  16.  HIs employment as HC isn't anywhere near in question.  Those who think it is I am curious what you think the plan would be moving forward?   This program was always more than two seasons away from being as competitive as we want (or what was foolishly predicted by some this year).

  17. I am very interested in seeing the chip on the shoulder of the o-line in Colorado.  Within every team there are two teams, well three with special teams, but they are always an inbreeding mixture of starters, backups, walk-ons and both sides of the ball.

What I am talking about is the offense and defense are distinct entities on any team.  It will be made PAINFULLY clear that the defense and special teams carried all the weight yesterday for the offense.  Practices will be intense and they will be constantly reminded that not only did the defense have to stop the other team, they had to do the scoring. The offense will be told they won't get a day off in a while because they had one Saturday.   Trust me, it motivates and ticks you off more than one might think as the competition and pride between the two sides of the ball is intense.  SF will challenge their will and their toughness this week.  Whether they respond is up to them.

Yes, AM had a bad game and exactly why remains unclear, but being able to run to set up the pass is critical and they just got pushed around on Saturday.   That impacts timing, momentum, confidence and play calling.  The kids in Boulder are not elite, but they will be another tier compared to the Jags.
