  1. Who honestly thought the Huskers were as talented as Ohio State and Michigan? Guys like Meyer and Harbaugh change the team in one recruiting class. Other places, like Nebraska, it will take a few. The Big Ten is OSU and Michigan and everyone else. The Huskers are in that second tier with Wisconsin, Michigan State, and , at times, Iowa. One game (where your emotional, on field leader is carted off with one of the most frightening injuries all year) does not offer a true glimpse into the entire season.

They lose some key seniors this year, but also gain some key freshman. Keep the faith and Go Big Red!

  2. This game was a statistical anomaly. OSU beat the spread by an improbable amount. Our teams quarterback and our most important player by leaps and downs went down and we are not nearly the same team with our second string quarterback in. If we played again with tommy back in the game, it would probably be competetive. The doomsdayers are being overly dramatic.

    This.

I'm with ya man.... I grew up there, I know a crapload of people who went there, I also remember how much they used to stink and how absolutely nobody game a rip about them until they got good.

All I can say is at least we are getting closer...

Is it just me or does the Wisconsin fan base, the ones who attend the game, seem to just go there and party like none other and don't really care about the game? Just seems like a ruckus crowd no matter what is going on, and win or lose, the Badger fans don't seem to care.

That's not completely fair. There isn't a way to gauge exactly how into the game they are. Like Nebraska, they are the only big time college program in the state and the people are invested heavily in the outcomes of the games.

Memorial Stadium isn't like Camp Randall and that's fine. They are the LSU of the B1G.

I'm more salty about how they have one of the all-around best athletic departments in the nation.

  4. Just got back from Madison this weekend. It is a really fun town. There are some fun restaurants and bars in the center of town. The Old Fashioned is all Wisconsin goods. Check it out if you can. They have a traditional fish fry on Fridays

  5.

Lots of NU grads in the Chicago land area and it is a pretty short drive, only about 8-9 hours from Omaha.

Not even. I drove back home last night from Lincoln in a little over 7.

Here on the right coast, that's a lifetime. One of my favorite things about NE is the disregard of the time space continuum. :-)

Right now, the dream match up in college football would be Houston vs. Louisville.

And that's a very weird thing to type.

They're scheduled to play in the regular season -- Thursday night November 17th in Houston.

... assuming the free world survives after the election.

They may be good, but man I just dont care for the teams. It's like someone saying where having noodles for dinner today! dont hate it, but shrug. Maybe if they keep it up for another 40 years they might imprint on me.

Entire nations have noodles for dinner every day. Louisville and Houston are very good.

  7. My first Huskers game yesterday and it was awesome!!!!!

Wish there was some kind of big finish to the Tunnel Walk, though. It's a tired old tune that could use some refreshing. Especially in comparison to what other schools do

  8. One of the media guys (McKewon?) mentioned when this first came up that Nebraska really didn't need to play Colorado four times in seven years (18-19-23-24) and perhaps it should boot Colorado in 18-19 in favor of Arky.

    Kind of makes sense, actually.

Totally agree. I understand some fans wanting to rekindle the rivalry with CU, but on the hierarchy of importance in modern college football, the SEC is at the top and Colorado is closer to the bottom. Someone like Oregon will jump on this.

  9. Don't know how many are following this story, but Michigan breached their contract with Arkansas to restart their games with Notre Dame in 18/19. The Huskers have an open date in 2019 right now and their "marquee" OOC game those years is against Colorado. I know scheduling two OOC P5 schools is uncommon, but even getting a neutral site game with Arkansas for 2019 could be lucrative. It's not every year that a home and home with an SEC school becomes available. Move Akron or Troy to get this done? Someone will benefit from this, why not NU?
