  1. I hate to be a wet blanket, and I actually really like the hiring, but in doing research into Coach Riley, this is one of the most recent things to come up and something I've seen mentioned nowhere. Obviously, this is ten years later, and Riley apologized for his statement, but this is a pretty sad and repulsive display of leadership. Kinda don't know what to think.

  2. The Tennessee grey uni was a color they used many years ago. They also incorporate the checkerboard and images of the state. Would be cool to have something that says Nebraska besides the N. Although not totally proprietary, maybe a horseshoe or even the skull and crossbones

Awful. And I like the modern uniforms.

No rhyme or reason to any of the design. An "N" on the inner right arm, but not the left? Looks like a cheap knockoff you would find on the streets of Tijuana.

Look at schools like Tennessee, Maryland, even Indiana. Uniforms that make some sense and aren't garish for the sake of being garish.

    Fail

LOL...Maryland has some of the ugliest uniforms know to man.

That very well may be true, but pure aesthetics aside, they make sense.

  5. Happy offseason,

Looking to come out to Lincoln next year for my first game. Will be staying at my gf's family in Omaha. Was wondering which game would have the highest probability of a great experience (weather, tailgating, play, atmosphere) and would love your input. Was initially thinking Miami or Minnesota. Thoughts??? Thanks!!

  6. At the expense of starting another thread, I'd love to hear suggestions on what home game to make the trek from the East Coast for next season. Would like a competitive game, good weather, tailgating, etc. Can't predict those. Was thinking maybe Miami, Minny, or that powerhouse Purdue.

Im definitely going to the Minnysoda game. Love to see us smasu some Randy Gregory revenge in Lincoln and take back control of the series. As much as I want to go to the Miami game Im afraid my big game attendance curse will cost us a win so Id better watch from home.

Good points. Would Miami be considered a big game? Dunno how good they are supposed to be next year. Also curious what another year of global warming will bring for the Minny game .

  8. Just win, baby.

It's been long enough in the Big Ten to get acclimated. Wisconsin and even Michigan State have established themselves as superior programs right now. Michigan, PSU, and tOSU have and still do own the conference. Maryland is trying to become Oregon East.

Players win games. Recruit smarter, coach smarter. You can talk about it all day. Moral victories count for nothing.

    Just win, baby.

  9. This may not be of popular opinion, but, while I'm impressed with his leadership ability and poise, Tommy's actual qbing skills are pretty poor. Arm strength, mechanics, savvy...all seem to be lacking. Even for a freshman. I am very much looking forward to seeing Stanton next year. And would go with Taylor if he is 75 % or better.

Did you not see the Minnesota game? I love TM, but let the guy heal for goodness sake.

Of course.Taylor seemed to be way less than 75% for that one though.

  10. I know there has been some talk about strength and conditioning (or lack thereof) . Showtime' s 60 Minutes Sports did a great piece on Alabama and their S&T program. There are good facilities and training programs, but then there is Alabama. They are making machines over there. It is on demand and certainly worth a look.

  11. If Bo is fired/resigns, the hiring of Eichorst tells me the next HC will have no ties to Nebraska. This hire will need to be a bigger splash than Callahan/Pelini combined. We have to be willing to put $4 mil on the line that would put the next HC in the top 10 of highest paid coaches. Petersen comes to mind but with Texas looking for a HC, USC, heck if Saban leaves Alabama who is to say Petersen wouldn't be approached by Alabama?

If anything, we can hope the timing will be perfect and all those schools get the coaches they want and some big name coach becomes available and what do you know, the one big head coaching gig available in college football? The opening at NU and we snag him. Of course my dream scenario would be Chip Kelly stays with Philadelphia then abruptly resigns to run to NU.

Pull a Petrino. I don't think hed make it out of Philly alive.

Coming from Philly, there is a better chance of Desean Jackson doing this than Chip.

  12. I think Bo knows he has to lead the team to Indy and put up a fight. If he doesn't get there or is blown out again... it's over. Fans need to get behind him, behind this team, the players and Bo needs to do what he has to do to get his team back. If it means changing personnel, DO it now. Make the sacrifice because the program is bigger than any one player or coach.

This post is going to look hilarious in a 6 weeks. Indy? This team? This coach? Not a chance.

Ditto. You really think that's possible? Putting aside the fact the coaches aren't good enough for such a task, the players aren't up to par.
