And these guys doing this to their small remaining student section while a thousand  Husker fans are in the opposite end zone in the empty stadium. Only players that came over were Jarrett Synek and Tanner Anthony.

Hell yes I'd love to see Bill stay on, he's done well in the last few weeks

Aranda would likely bring Ron Roberts with him as that is who he learned much of his own defensive schemes from. It's an attacking style that is a little different than Busch's "they can't ever turn the edge if we don't set one" philosophy

I'm playing on the LSU connection I think Mickey is to much of a tool at recruiter to be a full time HC. I would like to see Dave Aranda here, has worked with both Joseph and Busch in the past and could possibly be worked with to retain them. He's a defensive minded HC which is what we need, also like BIll and Mickey he's not a sunshine pumper he'll tell things like they are and not beat around the bush. Aranda I think is the best way for us to retain a few of the "good" staff members around here, knows and can trust the opinion of Bill and Mickey to hopefully give a long look to Applewhite and Beckton.

You really want to keep Busch?

It makes sense for Aranda to keep Mickey, but everyone else-from Whipple to the GAs-gotta go.

Or maybe Aranda? Definitely not Meyer or we'd already know.....waitresses would be lining up.

It is just hard to envision Aranda coming. If he wanted to go to the Big Ten, Wisconsin would have him. The reality of the absolute gut job this program needs is becoming more apparent each week.

Thinking of who could be just the opposite of the dishwasher seepage of this program, Jamey Chadwell comes to mind, but it's, again, hard to think of him outside of SEC or South for his next gig.

People proud of the defense today is mind boggling. I thought we tackle in practice now, so that wouldn't be so atrocious? The secondary was so god awful that the Rutgers wideouts quite literally didn't know what to do with so much space.

    Tear. It. Down.

  5. No new names have recently come out which would make you think they their guy is coaching somewhere else in a HC capacity.

Even watching Rutgers adopt the identity of their macho meatball of a head coach is refreshing in what an entire culture change can do. Still think it's gotta be one of the Matts-Rhule or Campbell

    We win.
that’s all that matters for the next 36 hours.

congrats boys. Never ever gave up and found a way to snatch it. The last 6 yrs, that game was a loss all day long. Winning is infectious, but we’ve had a losing infection.

I haven’t seen these Cornhuskers gut out wins for YEARS. Yet here we are: ugly, glaring, awful terrible mistakes. But winners, none the less.

Husker Power and good good vibes for a little while at least.

Did you see who they were playing? They will make a documentary about this game in the future when they find out someone was trying to throw it for money. Coaches, players, refs, the colonial reenactment guys. They had to all be in on this

I know he meets with TO every Monday morning to get a recap of the game and what he saw since he respects TO's opinion. Leads me to think he values his input.

My fault. Totally didn't connect the two. I was referring to Ed Orgeron

  8. What is the relationship between Mickey and Coach O?

I've long been the driver of the Matt Campbell bus, but am coming around to Mickey being the guy. Having a coach of color in a place like Nebraska is bigger than it appears combined with his ability to recruit and connect with players like no one we have seen in some time.

If Mickey can build a staff, with which, by his relationship building abilities, there is no reason to doubt, he very well may be the guy.

Yeah but who wouldn't take that job?  I mean, even the most holy of the posteres here would take that.

It is not his fault he was offered that job and that money.

Exactly. He isn't everyone's cup of tea, but he loves the team. Actually I'm kind of surprised he is sticking around in even this capacity.

  10. Yea, Indiana is bad, but so are we. Mickey genuinely seems to be incredibly invested in the program and the success of the players. Don't let our sucktitude and the former coach's preference for anything but coaching shade that. Mickey seems like exactly the right guy at exactly the right time.

Are we sure either of those are actually true? Or is that just like, message board chatter and stuff? I remember his name being mentioned for USC about how it’s being mentioned for Nebraska now. And I don’t remember him ever being rumored for a head NFL job. Regardless, I’d hardly call either one “desperately wanting him”

They offered him full control. That's pretty desperate

I think both of them are solid coaches and would be solid gets.  I think they lack the social media "wow" factor if that makes sense.  They don't have the name recognition as their programs are not in the CFP discussion.  That's just my .02. I'd be good with either one.  Solid business like approach to the game.

To your point about other teams and NFL wanting him, did anyone other than NU and UF want Frost?  NU was a no brainer and UF only wanted him IIRC.  I don't remember multiple offers.

Florida offered but it was pretty well known he was only going to come to NU.

We aren't so dismissive of Matt Campbell for Lance Leipold. Most Husker Fans want neither so hopefully we keep it that way.

I guess. I love Matt Campbell. I get the reservations, but when other teams desperately want a coach (USC, the NFL) I think it's a great sign

No link. As you should know by now…..links from the media are the least likely and slowest mode of gaining the truth. Not explaining my way so you can choose to believe or not. But it is true. He made direct contact with the university saying he wasn’t interested.

He called up Trev and told him to keep his 9 million a year?
