  1. Last I read, UM said that he didnt like how Solich was fired and would not accept a job at Nebraska... now im sure if you wave 2.5 million reasons for him to come here in his face... that may change... -pile
  2. Eric you're my bitch, dont forget that and who's side are you on? LSU im sure you meant not to be rude... but its just funny when people from other teams show up to kick a dead horse... so I like to snap back... Im sure SP has a wonderful plan... oh wait he has none... Nutt was not the answer... but who the f#*k am I to say who is?... Oh well Best of luck to LSU ( though I will be cheering for the Stoops...)
  3. I love when morons like you show up on this board... Congratz on LSU... Nick Sabin will leave in about a year... then back to being everyones play toy... but hey keep coming here and talking sh#t... Then maybe more NU fans wont cheer for LSU when they make the CWS anymore...
  4. 2.5 million dollars! WHAT THE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I should apply... I have qualifications of taking an average nebraska team to multipule title in PS2... HOLLY sh#t! 2.5 million dollars for Huston Nutt??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? I say we pay 2.5 million for Warren Buffet to be our new AD! or hell even T.O. baby!
  5. Radio just confirmed this... Asociate athletic dir has been added to title to Huston Nutt... LETS GET BO PELINI!!!! f'ing Nebraska offered him 2.5 million dollars! SCREW THAT! SP what the HELL are you thinking?!?!?!
  6. f#*k Nutt... If this guy is our new coach then SP f'd up bad! Huston Nutt is a solid coach... but he has yet to prove he is top notch... Pelini Showed he could take average talent and make them into players... He use the players he had to make a defense that was good if not very good... Nutt has solid numbers and arkansas and has improved the team... BUT HE HAS BEEN THERE FOR 6 YEARS! We as fans here in Nebraska will NOT wait 6 years to have our best record be 9 wins! If SP hires this guy... (which is funny cause I was telling a buddy when Solich was fired that Nutt would be a good guy to go after) he will have blown is opportunity to give us the best coach... Pelini wants the job... He may not have experience but he has done several things this last month that shows to me he would make an excellent coach and I think Husker naiton feels the same way... If Nutt is the next coach (according to ESPN we offered him the job already........) then we have made maybe a slight vertical move in coaching but not near what all of us expected... and that could be why im pissed as hell that he is even being talked to... f#*k Huston Nutt... f#*k SP... f#*k me!
  7. I think if we finish in the top half of the big 12 it will have been one HELL of a year! I truely think we have a shot of doing this... This team has more depth then the last two seasons combined... Drevo right now cant be stoped... He is hitting everything... Turak is much more physical down low and will give all big 12 big men trouble... Jake who is still our best all around player is a match up problem for every school... You leave him open from the outside he will hit the deep ball but you get close and ZOOM he runs right past ya for a layup... We are not flashy as a team... We dont have the best talent... but we have 10 guys who play much more like a team then anytime under Nee (the lack of talent though will make them not as good as several of Nee's teams)... Getting Richardson has be hudge... that little guy can flat out play basketball... If 3 kids that signed with us are as good as they have been hyped... then look for next years team to be much more althetic and maybe run more but keeping the same tight defense that has made this team promising...
  8. Here is the article from LG... How about Jason D. bringing down the rim! WOW! Huskers freeze Vols' offense BY CURT MCKEEVER / Lincoln Journal Star The collapsible basket nearest Nebraska's bench in the Devaney Sports Center crumpled in slow motion from the force of a Jason Dourisseau dunk with 12:25 left in the Huskers' 77-62 men's basketball victory against Tennessee on Saturday afternoon. And while John Turek ribbed his teammate for supposedly having a renewed work ethic in the weight room, a more likely cause to the cave in was the number of first-half bricks Tennessee launched at that basket. The Volunteers -- who entered with a 3-0 record and 90-point scoring average -- misfired on 24 of their 27 shots in the opening 20 minutes to fall into a 30-17 hole from which they never recovered. "I never would have bet you that Scooter (McFadgon) would be 3-of-22," Tennessee coach Buzz Peterson said of his junior guard, who was held to seven points, 15 below his average. "In the first half, I was pleased with our defense, but we couldn't get any buckets." Coming off their first loss of the season at Creighton on Wednesday, the Huskers allowed the fewest field goals in a half since at least the 1993-94 season. They also prevented Tennessee from scoring on consecutive possessions during the first half and held the Vols to 27.8 percent shooting (20-of-72) for the game. "The first half, especially, we just attacked them on defense," said forward John Turek, who scored 21 points and kept the Vols' Brandon Crump in check before fouling out with 5:50 to play. "We didn't get back on our heels. We tried to make sure we got in front of Crump all the time. And Corey Simms and some of our other guards did a really good job of taking (McFadgon) out of the game." The 6-foot-10 Crump finished with 25 points, but 11 of those came after Turek fouled out. When Turek went to the bench for the final time, NU held a 14-point advantage. "I warned our guys that they were a very physical team, but they just took it to us," Peterson said of the Huskers (6-1). "We can't rely on three-point shooting as much. On the road for the first time, it was a good lesson learned." Tennessee took 13 threes in the opening half and hit just two. The Vols finished 6 of 28 from beyond the arc for the game. Meanwhile, Nebraska topped 75 points for the third time in its seven games. Last season, the Huskers scored that many in just three of 30 contests. Coincidentally, they got that kind of production against a similar defense that Creighton used while beating them 61-54. The difference Saturday was Turek got more aggressive after NU had broken pressure and faced a sagging defense. "We faced exactly the same thing, so it was kind of an experience issue," NU coach Barry Collier said of Turek's response. "We told him, `We're going to live with what you do, just stay in there and shoot the ball.' We want to make sure that he knows confidence shouldn't be tied to whether he makes the first one or two shots, but just play the right way." The 6-foot-9 junior did hit two of his first three shots and finished 7 of 13 from the field while going a perfect 7 for 7 at the free-throw line. "Wednesday night, my biggest problem was that I hesitated to shoot. I wasn't used to the defense sagging off of me like that," Turek said. "Coach gave me the confidence to just go out there and shoot when I was open. He told me just to make sure I attacked instead of hesitating." Nebraska trailed just twice in the early going and went in front for good on a driving basket by Simms that started a 6-0 run and gave the Huskers a 14-8 lead. NU, which held Tennessee without a field goal for a 15-minute stretch in the first half, twice built its lead to 22 points, the second time on Dourisseau's dunk, before coasting in for the victory. Senior guard Nate Johnson finished with 14 points and a career-high nine rebounds, while Simms added 12 points. Sophomore Wes Wilkinson had a career-high four blocked shots to fuel NU to a season-high eight. And freshman point guard Charles Richardson, back in the starting lineup for the first time in four games, dished out a career-high nine assists. "It was a big win for us because we wanted to show everybody we could bounce back and not just win the game, but win convincingly," Richardson said. With the Vols' first-half clunks and Dourisseau's thunder dunk, the Huskers, who next play Bethune-Cookman on Saturday, could say they accomplished the mission. "We're really pleased that we bounced back with as much toughness as we did," Collier said. "Today was a really great demonstration of team defense, and that triggered the whole game for us."
  9. Think you got Woody's confused with The Panic champ...
  10. He got them since he was forced to hire Spinelle (sp)... Steve P. told BC that he would be part of the staff and BC had not choice... This guy is a recruiting expert... Gotta give it up to Steve for getting this guy to come to Neb to get us some players...
  11. I read this article too... Seems to me the entire blame is on Solich... Thing that dissapoints me is the fact that I truely believe we actually brought in some assistant coachs who do coach and should be solid recruiters... How do you allow someone to put a new staff together and only give them one year... seems a little to quick... But I always go back to the thought that when Solich took over we had amazing talent... In 1999 we were the best team in the country (f'ing Texas)... and look how far it has falling since. Its Solich that did lead to this situation... Argh... I just have mixed emotions about it... But reality is that I care more about winning and getting to that point quickly then I do about making sure Solich is given a fair shot. If there is a coach that SP has planned out to take over then maybe this is his stratigic move on his part... but I believe SP will do whats best of NU and return us to our thrown... Not sure any of us can stand watching Kstate have their way with us at home... Some things should never happen at a school with history and tradition... On another fourm people are already saying Walt Harris will be the replacement... His offense is pratically west coast... which is kinda of an interesting twist... oh well... Go Big Red
  12. Please do tell me what "stairoids" are? Go get an education then come back once your able to type instead of just drooling on your keyboard...
  13. Here is a post I found in rivals... This guys said he saw this fan running along and taunting NU players... And its funny that 99% of us have NO idea what really happened but for some reason every opposing team fans are bashing us... But im sure whoever Huck the Fuskers team is is full of angels unlike the big bad mean Huskers... Go get a life and stop bashing us cause your team sucks... Nothing we can do about it... "I was watching the Missou fan almost the entire way onto the field. My group was right in the southwest corner watching the fans stream onto the field. One guy (the "victim") caught my eye because he was taunting and bumping the Husker athletes as they left the field through the tunnel. At one point the victim even hit the helmet or shoulder pad of the lineman in front of Kellen. It made me really angry, and about that time POP Kellen knocked him down. Note a few things. This kid could easily have gone off to the right toward the downed goal post on the south side. He could have easily gone to the left of the Huskers down the sideline toward the far goal post. He chose to weave right through the Huskers in order to taunt them. When I heard the K.C. media was making a stink of it, I emailed AD Pederson Sunday night and told him what I saw. He called me personally on Monday morning and asked a few additional questions about what I saw. He said my story supported what they had already heard from other people. He also said Kellen is a great kid, smart, hard-working, has never been in trouble, and that they believe he was defending himself. Another person on the scene said the MU student cocked a fist at Kellen. Hardly the innocent bystander singled out by a violent football player. What these videos don't show you is the 10 or 15 seconds before he was hit, when he was making a complete ass of himself by abusing the Husker athletes leaving the field. Kellen could have reacted in a better way, but I believe he has the right to defend himself from in-your-face taunting, humiliation, physical abuse and attack. It was the MU student, and not Kellen, who caused this incident to happen. It was the MU student, and not Kellen, who needs to take responsibilty for his actions. I was there. I saw the whole thing. I didn't just see a blurry video edited just right by the tabloid media in Kansas City. I have no agenda. I just wanted to set the record straight." -DumbHick http://nebraska.rivals.com/forum.asp?fid=181
  14. I saw one video of it... It only showed the hit, you could not see what lead up to that point... First thing is that the fan should NOT have been on the feild... That fan then decided to run just a couple feet away from the Husker... Now maybe he was only running by and did not say a word... but then why get so damn close? For the nebraska player... he should have walked away and by touching that fan he made Nebraska and himslef look bad... If anyone finds a video shot that shows what happened prior to the kid getting knocked out please post the link so I can see it! Thanks! -Pile
  15. Looking for 4 tickets to the Kansas st. game... All 4 tickets dont have to be together but willing to pay more if they are. Please either post a reply or email me at ppile33@hotmail.com with number of tickets and asking price! Thanks!
  16. I think for Solich to be fired this year... The 'Skers would have to finish below .500... Granted I'm a die hard Husker fan but I dont see that happening... Lets say we finish around or just above .500 the next two years without any sign of improvement... Then I think Solich will be forced to bow out... But I honestly dont see that happening... I see the program getting better every year... Not to say we will be in the national title race in two years... but I do believe we can start expecting 8 or 9 wins again... Even this year there is a solid possibility of the 'Skers getting 9 wins... but I dont want to count the chickens before they hatch... -Pile
  17. Not really sure what I expected before the OSU game... Thought we would win but figured OSU would move the ball on us pretty easily... Have to say great job to all the Defensive coaches and players... They really put a lot of work in and now it really showed... Now I just hope my expectations aren't too high for this team...
