  1. Thats a very interesting story. wow what a run. goes to show you that everyone is vulnerable and everything goes in cycles. But damn to be on that team that f'd up the streak. What a bummer...
  2. Horne is a lost cause. What a disappointment. I could see him transferring to a smaller D2 school ala that one idiot whos name I dont feel like remembering.... from Wichita I believe. Anyway. Miller is a FB no?
  3. He made several Soph mistakes...... oh wait, he IS a sophomore!! we will be fine. he has shown he has the maturity poise and intellgence to absorb and execute an entire new playbook in 3 mos. Give him a full season and he will be THE premier QB in the Big 12. hands down.
  4. Brandon Jackson is a flat out specimen for a fresh. i was right behind the husker bench and that guy is a phenom. has an NFL type body at age 18. just a freak. He will be a stud and compete for the starting spot by next yr. But wow C Ross and baby Ahman are so impressive. I wont be surprised if we lead the big 12 in rushing and even top 5 in the nation. We are stacked like B Jax at I Back.
  5. Vyer impressed with Herry. He is a Todd Heap type prototype. Coach Cal is very fortunate he walked into a team with a TE of his caliber, as the WCO relies heavily on the TE to pose matchup probs and open things up for the running game.
  6. I was at the game and was all around very satisfied. as the others said our kicking game espcially special teams as a whole sux!! Wow we gave up huge return yards and fumblelayad the ball on punt returns 3-4 times. but overall very good outing and couldnt ask for much more. Joe d made some young dumb mistakes but then again he is young. this is how he develops and this was the game for that; but man he threw some balls right at the wrong guY!! I was very impressed with Brandon jackson, we are in good shape for yeras to come there. our Oline looks very solid and with Murtha and Muy in the wings I am pretty comfortable. GBR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  7. damn missed last week too. sonofa. oh well thanx for the view eric. lookin fwd to some head crakin tomorrow..
  8. Victory over KU on Fri. rain out on Sat. double header Sun. very tough game on Fri and like eric said lock-down bully saved the day. plus our boy at the hot corner is a bad ass with a big stik.
  9. all he can eat at Shotgun Willies buffet line.. mmmmmmm
  10. Damnnn. should be more like Chunke Inmyfrigginshorts. which is what most WRs and QBs will be doing when they line up against this freak. good lord almighty.
  11. Not sure what happnd b/t BC and Shu, but jus don think he wanted to take the risk w/him. why chance it. I could see him ending up at OU anyway. so RMS anything materializ w/ Solich down there? you think Stoops would hire him as an AC?
  12. Frank Solich, Steve Pederson and Bo Pelini were all in Saudi Arabia, sharing a smuggled crate of booze. All of a sudden Saudi police rushed in and arrested them. The mere possession of alcohol is a severe offense in Saudi Arabia, so for the terrible crime of actually being caught consuming the booze, they were sentenced to death! However, after many months and with the help of very good lawyers, they were able to successfully appeal their sentence down to life imprisonment. By a stroke of luck, it was a Saudi national holiday the day their trial finished, and the extremely benevolent Sheikh decided they could be released after receiving just 20 lashes each of the whip. As they were preparing for their punishment, the Sheikh suddenly said, "It's my first wife's birthday today, and she has asked me to allow each of you one wish before your whipping." Solich was first in line (he had drunk the least), so he thought about this for a while and then said, "Please tie a pillow to my back." This was done, but the pillow only lasted 10 lashes before the whip went through. Solich had to be carried away bleeding and crying with pain when the punishment was done. Steve Pederson was next up (he almost finished an entire fifth by himself), and after watching the scene, said, "All Right! Please fix two pillows on my back." But even two pillows could only take 15 lashes before the whip went through, sending Pederson out crying like a little girl. Pelini was the last one up (he had finished off the crate), but before he could say anything, the Sheikh turned to him and said, "You support the greatest team in the world, your alumni has some of the best and most loyal football fans in the world. For this, you may have two wishes!" "Thanks, your most Royal highness," Pelini replies. "In recognition of your kindness, my first wish is that you give me not 20, but 100 lashes." "Not only are you an honorable, handsome and powerful man, you are also very brave," the Sheik says with an admiring look on his face. "If 100 lashes is what you desire, then so be it. And your second wish? What is it to be?" the Sheik asks. "Tie Steve Pederson to my back."
  13. Yes he is bottom of the barrel alright. yeh saw that interview. what a mess. Didnt even say the coaches should have accontability for the actions of the crootz while on campus. what a friggin joke. cant believe this clown. i thought he was a decnt guy when at NW. what is it the altitude or somethin up there in Boulderdash? seems like every coach theyve had in the past 15 yrs has been a dam quack.
  14. Man CalHusker, sounds like you need to take a trip to Boulder!!
  15. Hes escaped and coming to a boys club near you!! run for your lifes!
  16. yeh whatta buncha clowns up there. Keep it up CU!!
  17. Dont forget about our boys already in Lincoln. We have a pretty talented class of receivers already on board. but you wouldnt know it b/c they couldnt showcase their talens. Theres Pilkington, LeFlore, Fluellen. and the crootz: Gabe Hatchett, Nate Swift, and hopefully Terrance Nunn, and dont be surprised if we move some of the "athletes" like Maurice McClellan to Wide out positions. the guy is 6-3 210 and runs a 4.5, and has good hands. So I actually think we're okay here. others have thoughts on this? brj
  18. agreed. Im in Miami and needless to say the locals arent real big on the Big Red. It sux being out of the Husker heartland, but with portals like this it really helps curb my fix!! so thanks to the board people.
  19. Anyone in the Miami area who wants to hook up for Husker games let me know. GBR Miami stylee!!
  20. Daves right. They said to "a manageable level". Now of course their def of manageable remains to be seen, but Id have to think its more targeted at the players who obviously arent going to be impact players. I know they help w/ practice and all, but its pretty expensive practice dummies. Plus it will actually help the local colleges who will get some good players outta this. This is not a bad thing guys.
  21. Murtha posted on a husker message board today. Here are his quotes: (Yes this was him by the way). when asked what sealed the deal for him at NU: Welcome aboard LM, and welcome to the way it should be!! I think you'll like it here Best of luck to you! brj another OWH article also: http://www.omaha.com/index.php?u_np=0&u_pg...38&u_sid=987333
  22. I love this!! I cant tell you how much I despise Sapp, and finally people are stating to see this bafoon for the realy jerkoff that he is. Check this out: clip: But on this day, ironically and insidiously, Sapp became one of us. He was at Super Bowl Media Day as a roving reporter for the NFL Network. Can you believe it? This surly, standoffish athlete who refused to be interviewed by the Tampa Bay Bucs' media for most of this season suddenly was Mr. Microphone. Talk about a guy who puts the Me in Media Day. According to media historians, Sapp jumping to our side may well go down as the most stomach-turning day for sports journalism since accounting started requiring meal receipts. But, thankfully, our new hero Hochstein was in no mood to encourage Sapp's hypocrisy. You see, it was Hochstein whom Sapp ripped a few days ago on ESPN's Pardon the Interruption. Sapp told the two hosts of the show - middle-aged sports writers Tony Kornheiser and Michael Wilbon - "I've seen Russ Hochstein block, and he couldn't even block either of you two fellas." And, so, when Sapp approached Hochstein on Tuesday and asked self-servingly - "What do you think about me making you the center of attention here at the Super Bowl?" - Hochstein simply said, "No more questions." Translation: Move along, Warren. Media members actually high-fived each other behind Sapp's back. Even Sapp's own teammate, Bucs defensive tackle Anthony McFarland (also a working member of the media Tuesday), busted out laughing when told about Hochstein's diss of Sapp. "That is the funniest thing I've ever heard," McFarland chortled. "I hope somebody got that on tape because I want to see it. That's hilarious." Afterward, Hochstein couldn't quite understand why so many giddy writers kept asking him about rebuffing Sapp. Hochstein looked incredulous when informed he'd become the new media darling of the Super Bowl. "I just didn't want to answer his questions," Hochstein said, "It was really no big deal." Oh, yes, it was, young prince. At long last, Sapp was exposed for what he truly is - a loudmouth and a phony. While he has garnered a reputation in the national media as jolly and jovial, he is anything but. He's not the engaging guy you see yukking it up on ESPN with Kornheiser and Wilbon. He's the nasty guy you see spewing profanities at fans in Tampa Bay, brushing off interview requests, blowing off autograph seekers. So seldom do superstar bullies such as Sapp get their comeuppance. He's a jerk to the media. So what happens? He gets rewarded handsomely to become a member of the media. He compares the NFL to a "slavemaster" even though he makes $7 million a season. So what happens? The NFL actually hires him as an analyst and pays him even more money. That's why it was so utterly enjoyable seeing Sapp get Sapped on Tuesday by an otherwise humble and obscure offensive lineman. Bless you, Russ Hochstein. You rule.
