  1. I've seen deer standing in the middle of highways that looked less confused than Martinez does this half.
  2. This is mind-boggling. That missed sack with a few minutes to go in the first half really changed the momentum in this game.
  3. It's amazing how you waited to come around when the game started going badly.................if you're one of those guys I'm warning ya it isn't gonna last long. One of what guys? The ones who notice that Pelini gets routinely outcoached in big games? I've been here off and on all day. You know exactly what I'm saying and I've paid attention to it for weeks. You don't like Bo, we get it, just don't pipe up when things happen to start going bad because you don't seem to pipe up and say these things when things are going well. I haven't even been here for weeks. I joined about two weeks ago. And no, I'm not a fan of Bo. I think he's a mediocre head coach, who is routinely outcoached in big games against better coaches. That seems to be playing out again today. Everyone else in this thread is similarly criticizing Bo, Beck, the offense, defense, etc. I don't see you taking issue with them. So what's the issue with me?

  5. Maybe for the womens' lacrosse team at College of St. Mary's.
  6. What we have here is the difference between a well-coached team and a poorly-coached team. The gulf between Mora and Pelini in terms of coaching ability is roughly akin to the gulf between Vince Lombardi and Kevin Cosgrove.
  7. Standing around looking clueless while he takes a sack on third down qualifies.
  8. It's about time for Martinez to make a mind-numbingly bad decision. Any guesses on how it will take place?
  9. No killer instinct. No mental toughness. No leadership. This is a familiar story...and we all know the ending because we've seen it many many times before.
  10. So the plan is apparently just to check out and let UCLA do whatever they want? Great halftime adjustments by the coaching staff.
  11. So what;s the over/under on missed tackles this half? I'll go with 25 or so.
  12. UCLA has a pretty damn good DLine and a kid named Anthony Barr is pretty dang good as well, just a heads up... Our O line is doing pretty well? You're not hearing their names much. We averaged 3.1 yards per rushing attempt. I expect better.
  13. Good half overall. But the lack of focus is getting ridiculous. Moss missing that sack was huge. There's absolutely no excuse for not being able to wrap Hundley up there. Our receivers look good and we know what our running backs can do. I'm unimpressed with the offensive line thus far. It's been a long time since we saw that unit pound on a decent team. Martinez is once again a mixed bag. Three TDs and some great plays mixed with some questionable decision making. I agree that he's far more tentative as a runner and just doesn't seem as fast as he used to be. I wonder if he's bulked up a bit to survive the pounding he takes and lost some speed as a result. It's also possible that his injuries have left him with less speed, either because of physical limitations or because they've made him afraid to get hurt. Good half overall. But the second half is going to be a test of this coaching staff's ability to make adjustments and get the team motivated and of the team's ability to maintain focus and take UCLA back behind the woodshed. In both respects, history should have us worried. But I'm hoping we've finally turned the corner and can gut this one out.
  14. Throws are a little high, but need to make those catches.
  15. I prefer night games...or even afternoon games to morning games. I like the buildup and atmosphere. I'd love to see us playing night games starting around 7 p.m. wearing black uniforms and with the stadium doing a "B******." That would be an awesome deal and great for recruiting.
  16. I think there's a good chance Texas loses to Mississippi this weekend. Then they have K-State, Iowa State, Oklahoma and TCU before they play Kansas. So they could very realistically be 1-6 when they play Kansas. I hope they are and can't wait to see their fans meltdown if that happens.
  17. Martinez obviously turns the ball over too much and seems to be the main culprit. But we also seem to turn the ball over a lot as a team. Coaching is a part of that. And I'm not sure why some take such offense when people point out that turnovers are a problem or question why Pelini and his staff have been unable to take care of that problem.
  18. Yes. Me too. Some of the stories from practices, pickup basketball games, etc. were pretty crazy.
  19. No doubt. But we have a pretty large body of evidence to work with. Have you ever talked to anyone or heard stories from anyone who went to school with him, hung out with him or played college ball with him? Have you read about how he engages in the same behavior in practice against his own teammates as he's constantly being disciplined for during games? At a minimum I believe he has some anger management issues. And I think there's a real possibility that his problem may go beyond that.
