  1. Sanders and Brewster are pulling in all their top targets this weekend.  They have the #1 ranked portal transfer coming in along with Coleman and Purchase, who is the top rated Colorado prospect currently committed to Oregon.

Big recruiting weekend for everyone last weekend before early signing day.

He most likely transferred out because his head coach, DC, and position coach were fired.  Those are who he had the relationships with.

He probably landed at Michigan because 1) he had a good game against them in November, so they showed him interest and 2) Michigan is one of the top 5-10 programs in college football right now.  When they come calling, that's going to get a kid's attention.

Isn't Michigan one of the top 4 programs in college football right now?

I'm not going to get my hopes up until I see something way more substantial that he's actually seriously looking at us again.

    Agreed.

He can't actually sign anywhere for over a year from now anyway.

I for one am very curious to see how Prime does. My personal opinion is that he'll recruit like crazy, pull in solid recruits, have decent success in the conference (especially since it's crumbling), and bounce in a few years for a "better" opportunity. I think his coaching is solid, and he's putting together what appears to be a good staff.

The thing that I just can't get over, and it probably says more about me than him, is his general persona. Every time that I see him speak, it just feels so rehearsed. He comes off as a used car salesman to me, just spouting off pre-planned speaking points. I heard him say something about change yesterday, and he just kept saying that change is hard, but useful, over and over. Just seems so disingenuous to me, but like I say, that's probably more about me than him, and he's not exactly trying to recruit my old a$$ to come play for him.

    It's definitely interesting to watch.

I think they expect a possibility that Sanders might bounce after a few years.

......of course Rhule's resume and our 20 year coaching history indicates Rhule likely won't be at Nebraska in 5 years...for one of two reasons.....

If I remember correctly, Riola wanted to coach the oline to be aggressive and play downhill, but Frost/Whipples offense did not ask for that. I think/hope that Rhules offensive scheme will fit how Riola thinks an oline should play and Riola will be more effective because of it

I think you're gonna find that what Rhule likes to do on offense is eerily similar to what Frost liked to do.....big offensive line with speed at the skills.

I agree but what makes it fun with most of those names you mentioned (including Prime) is when they fail miserably. I’d love for Deion to recruit lights out and then not be able to put it all together…..but I hate CU so.  Maybe the last 20 years of Husker football has made me bitter

    It probably has.....

A few of my clients are CU grads and CU season ticket holders.....so I certainly don't hate that part of CU!

    Big picture.  See beyond.

DR is an NFL guy like most of Rhules staff.  They will focus on getting the line right.  It is a major part of his teams identity. And maybe, possibly a QB down the road with the same name as Raiola will be on board....?!??

This isn't a "one and done" year.  This is a major rebuild.  We have been an awful program for almost 10 years. Having some patience is paramount.

Don Raiola must be pretty knowledgeable, technical, tough, and trustworthy as a coach and former big ten player to carry out the vision.  Me thinks.

Oh fully understood.  Raiola went from the one coach many (most?) wanted gone to it not really being his fault in a matter of hours

I just really don’t see how it is worth wringing hands over. Yes, Prime is going pull in some good recruits. Yes, a few of them may be guys we were also interested in. But if things end up so rosy for CU, I think it impacts Nebraska much less than quite a few other teams that typically pull in more 4* and 5* players than Nebraska usually does. Furthermore, if Prime is really all that, it shouldn’t be much of a geographic issue. Supposedly he’s going to be pulling all sorts of top recruits and portal players from all over the country.  I’d say that would have a neglible impact specific to Nebraska.

No, the problem is, some people want to b!^@h and worry and act like Nebraska screwed the pooch by not going after Prime. IMO his presence in D1 ball, at CU, in the PAC will likely affect a whole bunch of teams further up the food chain than where Nebraska is. Hence why I’m not specifically worried about his impact on Nebraska.

I didn't figure Alberts would even interview Sanders.  I also didn't think Sanders would end up at a bordering State.

And yes Sanders may go after just a "few" of our receuits.....but it'll be the highest rated ones.

I had a feeling this would happen when Rhule said he asked Frost about coaches currently on the staff to look at.  He's like the worst guy possible to be recommending coaches.

Of course Frost would recommend Raiola but not someone who has actually demonstrated competence like Busch.

Rhule bears 100% of the responsibility for taking that advice and not having a better option in his Rolodex.

Fwiw, that 5 star player is a 2025 recruit. He mentioned that he wants to join Deion Sanders as a Fort Myers, Florida kid in Boulder. I think that commitment was done as a favor from the recruit to hype up what Sanders could bring, and to show that he could bring warm weather, elite recruits to Boulder.

Feldman and a bunch of the national 247 guys believe that Sanders will pull a big recruiting class this cycle based on what they’re hearing, but it hasn’t happened yet. So far they’ve landed a project OT and JUCO CB from what I’ve seen.

Sanders has re-offered to a few players that had already committed to CU

He's got a commit from a juco all American corner and an OL from Columbus OH that he had committed to Jackson.

I'm sure Sanders recruiting will end up just fine.

Where Sanders is doing excellent is putting together his staff with high quality, experienced assistants.
