He showed a clear lack of professionalism when he showed up to his first big boy presser with a giant chaw in his mouth. He should have been talked to about it at the time. That he wasn't should have been a red flag to the entire state that Frat Party 2018-2022 was going to be our program's worst freefall.

Before concerning yourself with the size of Frost's chaw I'd probably wait and see what Rhule does.

Nebraska is not an easy gig.

    Now party on Wayne.

I am sure Coach Rhule was like "What just happened?  Why did it happen?  How is the family?  The kids?  How does the team feel right now?

I am also sure Coach Rhule thought about it, felt bad for Nebraska, MJ's family, the Husker football team........and then be like "Team, I am here for you. We can't change the course of what just happened.  But we have to move in a forward direction; Stay focused, go to class, build strong relationships, be your best every day, and your hard work will pay off.  Yesterday is not today.  Tomorrow is a new day.  Keep grinding.  Keep your chin up, your eyes on the prize and love Husker Nation.  I am here for anyone who wants to talk"

Ahhh....that explains the transfer portal entrants.

So, what you really mean to say is that Coach Rhule, Scott Frost, Nick Saban, Kirby Smart, Ryan Day, Lincoln Riley, Dabo Swinney, Tom Osborne, Bobby Bowden, Bear Bryant etc., aren't any different in what they said about recruiting, whether it be at the line of scrimmage or with speed?

I see your point maybe?....  TBD indeed.

I think it's likely we are saying the same things about what others have said.

I'm just not sure if you're ahead in drinks or if I am.

I also think that a huge difference will be the experience coaching in higher level conferences vs. what Frosts staff had. I think they were at a huge disadvantage having so little experience coaching in and against P5 conferences

If I'm not mistaken, Temple doesn't qualify so only Baylor would....so I'm not sure the advantage is that "huge".

And yeah, Baylor is P5, but it's B12.....

Love Robinson but not sure about him as DC.

The biggest question I still have is who is going to be responsible with overhauling our OLine. Rhule said himself that his focus will be on winning in the trenches. What coach can we trust to accomplish that feat?

Rhule and Frost really aren't any different in what they said about recruiting, whether in be at the line of scrimmage or with speed.

    TBD.

While an ace recruiter is important, having one assistant coach as a “top recruiter” is dangerous. What happens when that “top recruiter” leaves the program for one reason or another. It opens up your program to having recruits recommit and guys transfer away. I like having multiple “Ace” recruiters who can all bring great talent and then develop that talent for the program.

Which of our multiple ace recruiters has Omaha now?

I know Suh and Prince hadn't shown anything before Bo showed up, but they are still completely different situations than Nelson.  Suh and Prince were AMAZING athletes and talents, and Bo unleashed that talent.  Nelson is an above average to good athlete/talent, who has pretty much maxed out his play at NU.  I don't know how much more a new staff will get out of him.

How 'bout we wait and see?

The former players like having “one of their own” in the head coaching job or even in the staff, because that may give them a closer connection to the current team. I understand some of them won’t agree with the decision, especially the black players wanting a black coach at NU. Unfortunately, they are letting emotion cloud their judgment and opinions.

Do you have this same view toward Omaha recruiting?.......

Read we hired Rhule this morning.  I didn’t even have much of a reaction after reading it.

The son of a preacher part of Rhule must have sounded great to Trev is honestly one of the fist things I thought of.

All I can say is it is what it is yet once again and this guy better recruit his a$$ off and just as importantly he’d better put together one helluva staff of assistants.  He can start with Mickey Joseph.

Rhule will probably start with Phil Snow.

Holy hell, all the piss and vinegar on this thread is ridiculous. I come to this forum to read what a lot of you have to say, and to get your honest thoughts. But all of the trolls and a$$ hats on here are becoming ridiculous. Either support the team and trust that people a lot more knowledgeable than you know what they're doing, or just leave. Enough already.

Full disclosure: I've had quite a few adult beverages tonight, enjoying a Husker win over Iowa. But my thoughts are solid. :)

I'm with ya!  I was at a watch site in Colorado and some Iowa fans filtered in.  My thoughts are solid also.

What's odd is that you seem to be campaigning to the air for something that ain't happening. Rhule will be hired, then he'll go do the best he can. Maybe you can send over some analysis to help him improve.

I'm fine with Rhule and can assure you I have zero campaign influence.  But to say Rhule has some advantageous NFL "resources" that will benefit Nebraska is vague and I'm simply asking what it specifically means.

Bottom line is Rhule will have contacts in the NFL.  he'd be stupid not to parley that into some positives while on the recruiting trail.

Every coach has NFL contacts.  Pelini did and Frost did.

This is just an odd point to try to make in favor of Rhule.

Mickey Joseph has an NFL "resource".....his name is Vance Joseph.
