Please expand on how and why we won because of HH instead of winning despite HH. I'm assuming you'll fail to mention his 49% passing completion percentage and the way he regressed through the season. But I know your schtick is to nitpick single pieces of a larger statement to try and get a rise out of others. If that gives you your jollies, so be it.

My comment was answering the question of whether Sims earned the starting spot at the beginning of the season versus being handed the position. I did not hear a peep from others suggesting that Purdy or Haarberg should be the starter so I tend to assume that neither of them earned the starting spot. Sims' performances did not justify the starting spot and consequently he was benched.

Who caught the snap, made the runs and threw the passes on the scoring plays? You couldn't count on Sims to do any of that, and Purdy wasn't available. Without Haarberg we don't win those games because we didn't have anyone else on the roster. He played the most important position on the field in each of our wins. We won because he was on the field.

  2. I learned that if we are going to run the option we need to bring in Crouch in the off season to teach how to do it right. The stupid hop skip all our qbs do toward the running back before pitching telegraphs the pitch and commits the QB to the pitch because it takes away the opportunity to cut it up and run. It also takes out the QB as a blocker to help protect the runners backside. Love the option, but its clear these coaches don't know how to coach the qb to run it correctly.

  3. Also, we have now lost a game every way. With the lead and then watched the other team march for a walkoff FG. Marching the field needing a td for the win and turning it over. And now playing it safe for overtime, getting there and then losing. Rhule has tried every option to win a one score game, we have lost all our top receivers, our top 3 running backs, most of our offensive line, and 2 of our 3 qbs to injury and yet there are only 2 games that we couldn't have won. Backups are getting valuable playing time, setting us up for success in the future. I think with Chubba we win at Iowa. Also, my kind has not changed. Sat needs to go.

TBH, this is where I am at.  Can we get worse?  I'm really not sure.  What if he can actually sling it.  Accurately.  Just the routine mediocre routes...Maybe Luke comes out and realizes this is his 1st and last night to start a game and plays like a man possessed and we win.

I am also hoping that a full week with Purdy, the staff has drilled down 5-7 routes that he can do in his sleep.  Just enough to help move the chains and not let Wisky stack the box.

I dunno, with Sims and Haarberg, every snap has the opportunity to be the absolute best thing or absolute worse thing. It's not good football, but at least it's a bit exciting. Worse than that would every snap being the absolute worst thing or a not quite bad thing.

Speaking of throwing the bones. When was the last time you've seen Husker defender throw the bones? There have definately been plays this year that would be worth it. Not a real gripe just another thing I miss, like watching good football.

And IGC. And Fleeks is another subtraction from the WRs. And for that matter, so was Betts...

And Alante Brown. I said in another thread he mightve even gotten a Crack at QB this year had he stuck around.

I don't really get this. Maybe people are seeing something I'm not, but our offense all season has pretty much only worked with the qb run game or threat of the qb run game. It's responsible for almost every single big chunk play we've had all season, so without it, I don't see how our offense would be moving the ball at all.

    Yes, every single chunk play.
