Interesting, too, that last week people ripped Callahan for passing it too much in the second half against OSU and not controlling the ball like we did to start the game. Just a thought!!

Just wanted to repeat. I have NOTHING against him. I hope this is not seen as an attack on him. The freedom to have opinions is what makes this forum great. If not for that freedom, we would have nothing to discuss, but only things to read and accept as absolute fact because somebody force-fed us with that information.

The thread was locked because of individual attacks. It was started by BigRedSmitty who said he is a Husker fan despite his opposition to the coaching staff. I totally agree that he is a Husker fan and it is his right to have an opinion of the coaching staff. Just like it is a right of every American to have an opinion of the President. But I just wanted to say that he is NOT like me. This is not a personal attack on him. I just don't think he can claim to be the same type of fan as every other Husker fan. We all want the same thing, Nebraska's return to glory. GBR!!

I think this is a deliberate thing done by the special teams coaches. It seems like their theory is that a lot can go wrong if they have to field it. Muff, fumble, dropped before the 20, etc. If it goes into the endzone, there is no chance to force them into anything. But I don't think we've forced a turnover by doing this during this season, so maybe it's not working.

One big stumbling block for NU is that he can play next year at OU.

I don't know if that thing about "can he carry the load?" question is really a viable question. It didn't seem to hinder Reggie Bush's draft status. It also didn't hurt the two backs from Auburn that came out two years ago, I think. They were both drafted in the top 5 and have done well.

The other thing we have to remember is that even if we lose this game, we will hopefully be playing them again in KC for the B12 championship. For that reason alone, I'm a little scared to just throw the playbook at them. I'm just looking forward to another test for the Huskers and to see where we're at at this point in the season.

huskernumerouno: I know he's calling the plays. Is it the play calls? or does the team just kind of take it easy after a fast start? is this on BC or the players? or more likely, both?

Do you think it's BC's fault that we start fast and then fizzle? I know starting fast has been a huge emphasis this year and it has really paid off, but is this an exchange for doing that?
