  1. In regards to Beck or another assistant coaching, I doubt you would see much "bi*tching" from the anti-Bo crowd as they would at least see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  2. Wow, so I think to sum up most of the responses from Bo supporters, it goes a little something like this. Many Bo defenders are actively willing to post comments, but don't have the cojones to discuss how long Bo should be retained if he's not able to win a championship. It's either that, or their afraid to admit that they really would keep him regardless if he ever wins a conference title.
  3. It's discussion man...part of what a forum is all about. I'm curious to know how long the supporters of Bo will continue supporting him if we do not win a championship. It's pretty black and white. You can argue that everything we talk about on here, whether its the coaching staff, Taylor Martinez, the defense, etc...is pointless as nobody inside the Husker program is going to read it or do anything posted on here. Throwing out random numbers doesn't make a discussion. 2.71828 ...... is it working yet? That would imply letting him go in the middle of the year. I'm sure you are one that stated a coach should never be fired in the middle of the year when that debate was going.
  4. Another BO supporter willing to reply to the thread but afraid to admit his answer to the question.
  5. It's not throwing out random numbers. Some have already replied that they would keep Bo for a couple more years for whatever reason they felt. They chose to add some context which is fine. If this is not a thread your interested in, just move on to a different one.
  6. I'm still wondering why this got moved out of the main board given there has been so much talk about Bo as our coach, and Peterson as a possible replacement. The Lane Kiffin and Mark Richt threads never were moved.
  7. LOL...I was told the same by many on here who claimed that Bo should stay put because someone like Peterson would never leave Boise.

  9. We are now beating a dead horse........ABOUT beating a dead horse. LOL
  10. YEP!, Agreed! Note to self ~ seek out threads that Bo is not part of the thread discussion! IT's comical those that complain about this discussion is like beating a dead horse, yet come in here to still post. If you really don't care for the topic, move on. That's what I do with topics I don't care about.
  11. So here's your alternatives to what we've been doing: 1. Win the title game (this is what you and everyone else who likes Bo or hates him prefers) 2. Not make it to the title game We can agree that #2 is bad right? So we've played for the conference title every year except this one...I'd say he has our program going in the right direction when the only alternative is to NOT play for conference championships. We didn't play for a conference title in 2011 We've played in 3 title games out of 6 years of Pelini, with a peak in 2009 where we went toe to toe with a team that went to the BCS championship. I was high on Bo after that season, and had a great deal of hope. Since then, though, we seem to be going further and further away from how close we came in 2009 to winning the title. I would be stunned if Nebraska would somehow win the Legends division next year, especially considering we play at Wisconsin and have shown no signs of being able to stop a rushing attack like that (as was evident in our Minnesota loss this year).
  12. We'll never know, but this is really going to add fuel to the anti-Bo fire when one of the top guys that would be a great fit for NU was obviously available for pickup. It sounds like the AD is keeping Bo for next year, so that's not debatable, but when the question was raised (assuming Bo was not going to be retained) whether or not he should get to stay through the bowl game, this is the exact reason why. Coaching moves no longer wait for after the bowl season ends. Obviously available for pickup at Washington. Not obviously available for pickup at Nebraska. How sad is that statement too...either SE never reached out to him, or Peterson chose a program like Washington over us.

  14. Since you ignored my reply above, I'll make it bigger.... Last I checked we had a lot of opportunities for conference championships since he started...so he took us from having no business with championships in 2007 to actually playing for them the next year and continued to do so until just this year. So.... Dude, I stepped away for a minute, but it sounds like you are fine with making it to a conference title game as an end goal for this program. Thanks for clarifying! I'm comfortable with being given the opportunity to play for a title. Are you NOT happy with being able to play for a title? Don't you have to have the opportunity to play for a title to win it? No doubt...I don't expect NU to win a title every year, but I'm not happy with going 6 seasons and having no conference championship. Getting to the title game and getting obliterated like we did against Wisconsin is not my definition of success.

  16. I love the picture man. With that said, I'm really just looking for a number....how many more years would you give Bo without winning a conference title? You're asking the wrong question. The answer lies in how long you think Bo is gonna live. So keep him until he's no longer living is your view?
  17. ...... for the relatively few on this message board. We're never going to have a scientific poll of Husker fans showing the breakdown in support/opposition to Pelini, but I do think the sentiment on here is a good proxy for what most fans think. Most are probably not as passionate as those who post on here, but I think there is a large group that are not happy with Bo and would like to give another coach a chance. Nope Thanks for agreeing that we don't have a scientific poll to capture the views!
  18. NOOOOOOOOO....He was my top choice to come here, and many said he would never come here because he was committed to Boise St. This really now pis*es me off about our AD if Peterson was open to leaving Boise St.
  19. I love the picture man. With that said, I'm really just looking for a number....how many more years would you give Bo without winning a conference title?
  20. I'm guessing you are referring to the Osborne years in which he tied for the conference title in his 3rd and 6th seasons as a coach, and ended the regular season ranked no lower than #12? Or was this in reference to something else?
  21. As is evident with many threads in here, many fans are divided on their support of Pelini. For those who think he should remain as our head coach, my question is this: Bo has preached the importance of winning championships the minute he walked into Nebraska, and promised to return Nebraska to a championship program again. How many MORE years can Bo go without winning a conference title and still have your support? If he doesn't win a championship next year, will you still support him? How about 3 or 5 years from now?

  24. I think the fact that we are nearly a week away from the Iowa game debacle, and most of the top threads on here are still about Pelini, really speaks volumes to the title of this thread. I don't see this division changing in 2014 unless Bo cleans up the product on the field and shows he can win the big games.
  25. Anyone have any idea why I'm suddenly not able to "quote" or "multiquote." Is there a setting or something that needs to be reset?
