C’mon, somebody watch this and share your thoughts. It’s killing me me not knowing if others find it as messed up as I didI was 100% not expecting that. I guess that's one way to kick off a season

Eh. I'd rather have us say.
"Man kid, you're really damn good, we wish we could take you, but we only have room for one scholarship QB this year and I've been recruiting this other kid since he was in 7th grade, so we're going to take him. We wish you the absolute best in your career, and if things change don't be afraid to reach out, you never know what the future holds."
Than
"Well, we're kind of full, but here is a non-committable offer that's really just for show, or you know what, we could offer you a walk-on spot and you could earn a scholarship later, if it works out."
The first one respects his talent and his time, is open and honest. The last one feels like a used car salesman trying to talk you into buying a 1972 Pinto because he doesn't have what you really want on the lot.
And what about before whipple?

If he turns out to be pretty good, I'm sure many will label it as a "miss", especially if Watson doesn't pan out.
But I think that would be an unfair characterization (potentially). It's simply a case of bad timing. We brought in a guy who already had been recruiting another guy that he liked and would have to start from square one with Flores. When recruiting QBs, you don't really have time to do that. You grab the guy you want when you can get them. You can't really afford to slow play one while you build a relationship with another and risk losing them both.
Had Whipple been here a year earlier, that's different. But I don't think it's fair to call it a miss. It's not like he really chose one guy over the other. He chose a guy he had been recruiting for years over a guy he doesn't even know.
It may not be Whipple's fault but to not even really contact an instate player with what could be some pretty good college talent, seems pretty inexcusable. At least show SOME interest.

I'm really impressed with the portal signings. Given plenty of choices, we got coveted players to come to a 3-9 team with a head coach on the chopping block. Somebody is doing a helluva job pitching culture change, win now strategy, and career opportunity at UNL.
That or we actually do have some serious NIL money

Yeah it’s a really good show. I just don’t know how accurate some of it is. I have trouble believing some of those people were actually as bad as portrayed. No way Bird was THAT big of a prick….or maybe he was
Haha Agreed. I know a good chunk of it is true but I also don’t know how much is embellished and such. I think he actually might have been from what I’ve heard…

Just about finished with Laker's series on HBO. I'm not a huge documentary fan, or a Laker's fan but it's pretty damn good. It does a good job of telling the story but it's not an actual documentary. Plus, John C. Reilly is the man and does a great job.

I hope we lose our next game. Just put us out of our misery already. Another miserable Men's season

Hoiberg said he saw Lat hit 86/100 3's in an NBA drill before Lat's first season here. Lat shot 29% from 3 last season.
Another quality example

These videos are great and all but i've seen some many recruits post these only to come here and shoot brick after brick. Drives me nuts.

Look at when those were from. A ton has changed since then, with Applewhite being the biggest factor.

Block call and charge call looked identical to me.
They basically were but Verge doing that pretty much summed up the season for both him and the team.

I'd like him to be retired by the next time we start a coaching search which would mean Hoiberg turns it around next season and stays for a long time.
This would be my preferred option but don't think it's likely

I've heard Conn and Lynn both haven't shown much at all. Wouldn't be surprised if they hit the portal and went to a lower level program.
Think they were both pretty big reaches to begin with

He's such an insufferable douchebag. Always has been, always will be.

Martinez will do "better" at KState than here, sure, but I personally still don't think he sets the world on fire either.
Pretty sure after this season, we'd end up taking Casey Thompson 10/10 times over Martinez.

Really though, about the only thing that comes to mind is the movies. Nothing cool to share personally but I can confirm that the act like you belong there thing works quite well

Riley was probably nudged into the portal.
He definitely was. He was never going to be a contributor here. I said I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit the portal like a month ago

I'm willing to wait and see - I don't know what they were being taught, but they were not being put in positions to succeed. IIRC he looked pretty solid as a freshman, and then looked worse each year. I think he'd probably be fine with better coaching - same with Piper, Corcoran, and Benhart. There's enough talent there.
I think Piper, Corcoran and Benhart could be alright. Especially Corcoran. I'm not overly concerned about him.
Hixson does not have the physical tools to be a P5 player, IMO.
