  1. I'm just suggesting, now, we have time left, so as I said before, I'll eat dog crap if I'm wrong, but if this keeps up, we all e-mail him at www.coachcallahan.com. Once again, I HOPE THAT I AM WRONG PLEASE PLEASE GOD LET ME BE WRONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. F'ing Aye Rigoni - I LOVE that guy. He is an animal.
  3. I actually have to give it to Nunn and Jackson, they were stupid plays. But, they are playing ot win, not to just not lose bad. I wish our play calling was doing the same. But it is pretty obvious it is not That's what I'm getting is wasted.
  4. LISTEN TO ME, he is shortening the game to not get blown out. That is all he is doing.
  5. Keep on wishing Knight, he ain't gonna do it until deep in the 4th. Billy C has no faith. By the way, if we end up kicking ass in the 4th, I'll glady eat crow, rat, or any other disgusting animal that you can think of.
  6. I love Jackson, I wish he were starting, but I gotta believe RJ knows what he is doing.
  7. I just want to let you all know, if I see Beau Davis on the field, I'll personally drive to Lincoln from Denver and put a smack down on Billy C.
  8. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF you all know the other three letters.
  9. How did they get the ball, had to go to the bathroom.
  10. How the hell did they get the ball, had to go to the bathroom.
  11. Jones finally backed up what he said. by the way, I'm going to annoy you guys the rest of the night with a ton of posts.
  12. By the way, turned off the sound. Just can't stand the USC love fest.
  13. Ok, it is pretty obvious to me that Billy C (and yes, I use to call him Coach Callahan, but now he is Billy C to me) has evaluated to the talent and decided we can't win. So, he is playing not to get blown out. I mean, come one, no passes down field at all - give me a break. Yeah, yeah yeah, the fake punt at all. But anyone with any football knowledge can see that he is calling plays to shorten the game he hasn't even let Zac try to pass. The only play Zac made wasn't the call, it was his own play on the field to Nunn for the first 3rd down conversion. And I know, the rest of you will call me a Callahan hater, but I'm not, other than the Cosgrove hire (which I thought was a mistake from the start), I have loved him. However, if the play calling doesn't change. I mean, at least give us a freaking chance to win, I just can't deal with playing to not get blown out. Just can't. By the way - KOSGROVE SUCKS! Have your safeties at the line of scrimmage, but not blitz. That is the most moronic call on the face of the earth. FIRE COSGROVE NOW!
  14. Did you even watch Notre Dame play last year? Stats: Quinn - 292 of 450 for 3919 yards 64.9% completion rate 32 TDS to 7 INTs Taylor - 237 of 430 for 2653 yards 55.1% completion rate 19 TDs to 12 INTs That is why Quinn is a Heisman contender and Taylor is not. You can't even compare the two. Now, I'll agree that Quinn had a better supporting cast (i.e. Line), and that is probably a big reason for the better stats for Quinn. Lets get back to some realism here. Taylor is a good QB, who MAY have a great year in 2006, but that is going to depend on a few things: Better blitz recognition by himself, better protection by his line, more YAC by his receivers, better production in the run game, and even better defensive play. It's going to take about three games before we know anything. Let's just win the Big 12 North first, then I'll consider starting to talk about championships and heisman contenders.
  15. I don't mind seeing people move around, especially if they are going to see absolutely zero time at their current position. However, I don't remember Adams even being considered a very mobile QB, let alone a dual-threat type of QB who may have a shot at safety. If he has absolutely zero chance at seeing playing time at safety AND quarterback, maybe the move is just so that he can see the X's and O's on the other side of the ball to help a future coaching career?
  16. Just a question, but does Nebraska basketball suffer from the same fate as Kansas & Indiana football? In other words, is the general fan base so in love with football (basketball at Kansas & Indiana) that is is almost impossible for basketball (football at Kansas & Indiana) to ever be successful on a consistent basis? To me, the argument is almost ridiculous in that the football program is bringing in the money for some top-notch facilities. Thus, this should only help make basketball successful. You only have to look as far as the baseball program to notice this fact. Also, several schools (e.g. Texas & Oklahoma) have consistent success in both sports. The only truism from this argument could be recruiting. That is, when whoever the coach is goes out to recruit top-notch basketball talent, they ask "why would I want to go to a football school?". This doesn't hinder baseball nearly as much as no school that I am aware of is looked at as a baseball school. Probably has to do with the fact that most of the top-notch baseball talent can go directly to the pro's from high school. Those schools who have success in both sports, in my mind, have a tradition of being successful in both sports. Can anyone name a school that has been traditionally known for either basketball or football and a doormat in the other revenue-generating sport elevate their doormat program to have consistent success?
  17. The only way I can see Michigan using this game plan is if they have weak corners. It just doesn't make sense to me that against the WCO offense and what appears to be the lack of a deep threat you would sit in a zone. Colorado did, but I haven't been overly impressed with their corners. I think the keys for the Huskers for this game is going to be: A) Solid Defense - stuffing the power running game and pressure with the front four. This, to me, is obviously the key to just about every game. B) A legitimate deep threat against their corners to force them into a zone (could this be the reason for the LJ at WR rumors?) C) A short yardage game. I'd say a running game, but as we have seen with the WCO, this could also be Ross out of the backfield (or Lucky - if he can get over the jitters and catch the ball). OUT.
  18. Clone, That is the type of humor I can actually tolerate (I take exception to the L already in front of the Colorado game though), mainly because we say the same thing about other schools all of the time (week OOC). Also, because it has a wee bit of truth to it (albeit not much). What I do not like is the direct attacks on the players and the fans themselves, the vandalizing of cars, the throwing of batteries, etc. etc. etc.
  19. I'll reserve judgement on who I want in a bowl game until I see the team play CU. If we come out strong and play well, win or lose, I want the toughest team available. If we just get our heads handed to us on a silver platter by CU due to a bunch of penalties, fumbles, missed tackles etc., then, well, I'm not so sure I'd want to play FSU. By the way, I actually think the former (we come out strong and play well) is what is going to happen.
  20. I forgot about Mulkey and Nunn - Sorry. Fluellen has been hurt so much I don't know if I would say he has very much experience.
  21. I agree that a lot of the "dumb" mistakes comes with youth. Furthermore, we have pretty significantly changes personnel from last year to this year. E.G. on offense: Basically "new" TE's. In KSU, we had a new Ts, and if I remember correctly the previous LT did not play much last year. A concern is that Seppo did not appear to improve from last year to this year; HOWEVER, I am in no way an expert on grading line play. Didn't both guards play significantly last year? If so, once again, I do not see much improvement. Same statement applies on grading line play. Same center - seems like he performs fairly well to me. WRs - Basically all new receivers. Leflore, if I remember correctly, is the only one with any experience from last year. New QB New FB??? We use the FB sooooo little, I can't remember if Todd played much last year. IB - should be experienced, and should not be fumbling and not picking up blitzes. As with a TON of NFL guys though (look at Dillon right now, or Thomas Jones for Chicago, etc etc), I think we have over used Corey and wore him down. It would have been great if the young guys could have played more, earlier. While, I'll give you inexperience/youth at a ton of positions, I'm not sure I buy it for the O-line. I think they should be performing better than they are right now. Unless, the blocking schemes that this offense requires needs more time for the O-line to gel (which, if they are zone blocking, I may buy).
