  1. That actually would make a lot of sense to me -- the kickoff coverage team definitely did not look "coached" this week at all.
  2. I think it is fine, and everybody in SHOULD think we can win the rest of our games. I at least know Bo will be coaching to win those games, and I sure as hell hope the players are playing to win those games. But, then, if we do win out -- who really cares about a Big 12 North Championship? If we would get it, great. But if we wouldn't, would that diminish in one little way what this team would have done. I don't just say no, I say HELL NO!!! Let's just cheer for the team, hope that they win, and let the rest happen as it happens.
  3. Oh no! ESPN hates us and we are being blackballed by the officials? We are screwed!!! Maybe Dr. Tom can slip them a little money under the table to fix that. If not he can order a mob hit. I know I know! Offer all the officials' kids those county scholarships that we hide so well!!!!
  4. Might be hard to do considering the starting spot may go to a TE. That is why I doubt we will see them, and I doubt we will see them any time in the near future. Also, to clarify, I do think that TTech is a GREAT offensive team. I think just a little less explosive than MU. And, just about anyone can stop our running game at this point, so being a little weaker against the run doesn't help us much.
  5. It would be great if we could just "fix" our running game in one week. But to me, running game is about attitude, about knocking the block off your opponent. I think it is going to take Bo 2 to 3 years to get these guys to have the attitude they need to have a successful running game.
  6. What changes do you guys see us making this week from last. Also, what are the differences between TTech and MU. IMHO, I think TTech has less explosive offense than Missouri and is a little weaker against the run. The only real changes I see are on defense where I think Bo will go back to our base Nickel/Dime package most of the time (of course I still expect to see him blitz regularly). I'd like to see us change our running game. I'd like to see some "quick hitters" from the full back. I'd definitely like us to run out of the shot gun a lot more than we did against MU, more zone read and more option. But I'm not sure we will see that. Well, if we ever see the FB/HB run the ball again I'll be very suprised.
  7. He wastes few opportunities to tear NU down in a public forum. Ok, I'll agree with this statement.
  8. Is it just more, or does zone blocking just not work in college. I guess I'm assuming we are still using a zone blocking scheme. We've heard/seen the same thing -- it is just one guy here/one guy there. It was all last season a five frigin games into this season and people still can't seem to get their assignments right. Does anyone else in college zone block? Are they successful? Why the hell can't we get it?
  9. Mods, Can we please stop this thread. It is a totally classless thing to do to come to just crap on a guy that has kicked your butt. If you want to get pissy with the things he said, ok. But this, IMHO, is just trying to tear the guy down for no good reason.
  10. I think OLDMAN is just a classless type of guy.
  11. Yeah, you are right. We may have been able to score a few more points (I was thinking maybe 14 -- nothing to keep it close). But if MU would have wanted to, they probably could have scored 28 more. I was just trying hard to find something positive.
  12. Are you serious!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just because we had 14 penalties doesn't mean that we are dirty. Most of those penalties were holding and false start. Believe me when I say this but if you watch the game again you'll see a lot of late hit tackles by Mizzou that happened right infront of the referee and weren't even called. The game is over and it's time to move on but to call us "Dirty" you got to be blind and ignorant to not see what Mizzou did as well. I know there are a lot of Mizzou fans that would agree with me. Hell I'll still stand behind the late hit call that Suh did to VT last week for I thought that it was a good call. I said we "it may not mean we are dirty", which I do not think it does. I was just pointing out, that it does not bother me, as a fan, what CD said or did not say. We obvious lack discipline as a team or we wouldn't have tied the Nebraska team record for penalties in this game and rank 115th in the nation for the fewest penalties per game and 110th for the fewest yards penalized per game. I am just as embarassed about that statistic as I was our defensive statistic from last year.
  13. Oh yeah, I forgot about that one. So did everyone else I guess.
  14. Oh, 14 penalties for 101 yards. It may not mean we are dirty, but you get a penalty when you do not play by the established rules of the game. So, I don't care what CD said, he is not too far off.
  15. Total Offense: MU 462, NU 369 First Downs: MU 24, NU 21 (this stat is a little deceiving as MU didn't need 1st downs to score) TOP/Plays: MU 26:03 (58), NU 33:57 (73). See above for a little deceving. Ok, no, I'm not going to insuant we could have won. What I am going to say, is we could have, and SHOULD have, kept it a heck of a lot closer. What caused us to get blown out? Penalties: MU 1-15yd, NU 14-101yd Turnovers: MU 0, NU 2 Rushing: 34-201-5.9 ave, 35-79-2.6 ave. Penalties & turnovers can be corrected (I'm not sure if they will be but they could be). Running 50% of the time, but only average 2.6 yards may not be able to be corrected. Throw more? Ganz was 26 of 38 for 290 yds or 7.6 per attempt. It may or may not work. I'm not sure the point of this post, but to look for potential areas of needed improvement and try to see some positives.
  16. Because our I-back starts about 7 yards deep in the backfield, requiring our O-line to hold blocks longer than they have the ability to do.
  17. I'm sure they are thinking "more than a good shot". All of my predictions are based on a team that "holds it together", and some adjustments are made: 1. Stop the (penalty) insanity! We can't continue this and it should not be tolerated! 2. We redefine our running game. What we are doing now doesn't and will not work (this year). 3. We get more discplined on defense, both in tackling and blown coverages. If we don't do these things, which are all doable, we won't stand much of a chance against anybody.
  18. We have KU at home. Oops - edge us then. I think they are too one dimensional (like us).
  19. My two cents @TT - almost for sure a loss. @ISU - maybe a win (give us 60% odds) Baylor - probably a win (give us 70% odds) @Oklahoma - Take a miracle to win Kansas - 50/50 at this point; edge KU (at their place) @KSU - probably a win (gives us 75% odds) Colorado - 50/50 at this pont; edge NU (home game) So, I'm thinking 6-6, with a legitmate shot at 7-5 (and just as legitmate shot at 5-7).
  20. Isn't this refreshing to the games over the last few years where it was obvious our coaches went in knowing we were going to lose (self fulfilling prophecy).
  21. Ok, the current state of the Economy - that gives me anxiety. Iran getting nuclear weapons - that gives me anxiety. Go through my divorce - that gives me anxiety. This, is a football game, a football game that I am not playing in or coaching. Am I excited for it, yes. Will I be emotional about it, yes. Will I be pissed if we lose, yes. Will I crap my pants and jump for joy if we win, yes. But it does not give me anxiety or a coronary or do I need medication to watch it.
  22. Buffalo did better than expected against Missouri with less talent than Nebraska. I know they were greatly aided by a ton of MU turnovers; however, I'm sure Bo has called Turner this week. Does it help us at all?
  23. Losing is not OK. Losing is NEVER OK!!!! Just ask Bo. But what I think people are saying is, I don't think we need to fire Bo if we lose to Missouri.
  24. I'm looking forward to it. I think we can win, but here is what we have to do... 1. We have to have long, sustained drives to keep their offense (and more importantly our defense) off the field. 2. These drives HAVE to result in TDs, not field goals. 3. We have to correct this blown coverage problem. I don't care if it means less blitzes. C. Daniel will eat us alive if we leave guys wide open. 4. Win the battle of special teams. 5. No turnovers. Oh yeah, and score more points than they do.
