So we expect the players to perform in a conference that the coach isn't ready for?  Frost was pretty naive coming into a conference and thinking he was going to set the tone.  He's learning to

Wrong. Not naive at all, he’s still going to set the tone, absolutely. He never said he was going to do it in the first 6 games.  In fact, he basically said we aren’t going to be real good out of the gate, but you’d better hope you don’t get us towards the end. Seems like it’s been pretty damn accurate, actually. I hope he never changes a thing. Many things that look folly with mediocre players/fit automatically look genius when things are corrected.

Yeah something happened yesterday. $$$$$$$$$$$. That quote to Wiltfong is things he already knew. Boosters and local support after college etc etc. That is not new information Kentucky just started selling him on. That is not some new revelation that made him say "man I better go to Kentucky".

Just look at it like this as others have said- it may not be over until signing day. A few days ago he was Nebraska- if something can happen in 1 day to change his mind. We can change his mind between now and 6 weeks from now.

Ya. Also, you think you’re a post career celebrity in Kentucky, just wait to see how you’re treated as an ex-Husker.  Can make a living just showing up at stuff.

We have Martinez and a great set of QBs coming in and just picked up a great offensive lineman this week. Those two positions are what you build the offense around. We will find other less touted WRs like JD Spielman that can fit into the offense and excel.

Ya, we will be fine.  But the team would be better with Wandale on it than without.  And that makes me sad.

  4. I heard this morning in the radio that they wanted to keep him because they basically felt the program let him down as they were lax on thier forming of structure

and providing guidance for a young coach.  They felt those were things that they could correct as an institution and basically didn’t want D to just be the fall guy.  Still so stupid imo, but at least seemingly more just naive as opposed to sinister.

  5. I’ve been to all the games this season, and the problem with the blend trend is they chose songs with lyrics which left the actual tunnel walk with everybody more listening to words as opposed to clapping and cheering. Out of sync clapping is a legit point, but it beats the heck out of the rap lyric derail.

I’m going to make a comment that will likely be unpopular here, but playing to win and playing not to lose are exactly the same thing.

He played to win Colorado by continuing aggressive play calling and not eating clock and it bit him in the a$$. With this particular team that currently lacks an identity and a fall back of things they can do in clutch situations, you’re kind of damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

  7. Most of me just feels like we have to give Chin time, at the very least a few years just to be fair.  Maybe he’s legit bad, very well could be based on history and current failures, but it’s far too early to tell how he will fare here at Nebraska, which is really all that matters now. I have to pause and remember that, if we are being honest, we have unanimously hated the DC’s around here since Pelini was pretending he wasn’t really the DC and it was McBride before that that we judged favorably. Apparently it’s a difficult area to perform well in as evidenced by our revolving door of suiters. I’m ok giving Chin at least a year or two to develop continuity and hopefully bring in better fits. It’s disingenuous to expect him to take Diacos nightmare and also one of the most embarrassing defenses ever dress for the school, strip away the senior class, leave him with scraps and tell him to field a champion.  He may or may not be a great DC, but we can’t expect him to be Jesus.

    Couple of things.

-Scott Frost should stop distancing himself from this team. He should have taken some responsibility for the loss. He also threw his d coordinator under the bus

-Scott Frost and Co. came to Nebraska with hubris and arrogance. Frost still acts detached from this team, but asks for their trust. See the disconnect.

-Why did it take until AFTER the Colorado game for Nebraska to ask for a waiver for Noah Vedral. I thought Bill Moos was this great administrator

-Stop blaming the refs. The refs ain't the reason we are 0-6.

    - Noah Vedral should redshirt this year, but I'd like to see him get some playing time this year.

-I don't get why Wyatt Mazour doesn't get any carries. Like none.

-These seniors have been through so many coaching changes. They've deserved better.

-I'm glad the Huskers benched Caleb L., but what does Pickering have to do to lose his job? Does he have compromising photos of Frost?!?!

-Frost doing the theatrics and doing the face rub after Pickering missed the PAT may have resonated with Joe SixPack, but it's embarrassing for a coach to hang a player out to dry. I get it, but his demeanor was one of a fan, not of a coach.

-Frost almost bragged in press conferences about how much he didn't like kickers, nor he didn't pay attention them. The kicking game has cost Nebraska at least two games this year.

-Overall, I thought the team looked better and improved.

-Noah Vedral was a like a 2nd QB coach. He knows the offense and was supportive of AM. He's a team player.

-It's no secret but the natives of Nebraska overachieve and play harder.

Not going to eat Frost alive over 4th down calls. No balls, no babies. But I don't know why the QB sneak isn't deployed more.

    Keep the faith. GBR.

You’re right about the seniors having been through coaching changes....

We were in position to win the CU game as well. Luckily I drink heavily on Saturdays or my furniture would be torn apart.

We weren’t really in a position to win that game ever. From falling behind out of the gate to still being behind expecting a walk on sophomore back up qb with a week of back up reps under his belt to lead a comeback..... I’ll just say, we were never in a position to win.
