We did a nice job of doubling the post and scrambling.  We definitely had an effect.  But, again, they had a to of open looks when we got caught out of position.  They could have easily made 3-4 more that would have changed the game.  Most of the time they do.  That's why we were about #262 in the country in 3-point FG% allowed before yesterday.

And I think "most of the game" is quite the stretch for what we could do on offense.  We turned it into a rock fight, which is what we have to do.  We score 17 points in a 16+ minute span between 9:42 in the first half and 12:07 of the second.  That's not going to get it done most of the time.

Some fair assessment and some not as fair. I will agree that offensive output is not going to cut it, but there is no question we game planned this game that way. Can we find offense when we need it in future games? Time will tell.

That said, this game was coached to knock CU out of what they wanted to do. Running with them was never going to result in a W for us. To say the defense was helped by missed 3's is a bit unfair as, time after time, we ran them LATE into the shot clock. That was the game plan, so it isn't fair to say they missed a lot of those "forced shots" so we were lucky.  Those shots were missed because of the working man's D we chose to play this game.

The gamble w/ the game plan is that when you put so much effort into D, your O will suffer. Ours did, but ultimately the plan led to the W.  I'll take it however lucky and ugly it was. Honestly, even up 10 with 2:30 left, I still assumed we'd fold and lose. For the most part, we played like a big boy team down the stretch, something NU teams don't do well very often.

There is more to the story.  What Mickey did is really bad, but I laugh at all the rumors that are being posted with little or no proof!

Did he hit her or not?

What’s puzzling? Under Busch the defense pitched shutouts for entire halves. They did better against Michigan than Ohio state did. The defense got markedly better as the season went on. In reality w out Busch we wouldn’t have even gone 4-8

Chinander's defense did that last year a lot too, and he doesn't even have a job this afternoon.

I'm trying to remember the first clear-eyed indicators that Scott wasn't doing his job very well.

He showed a clear lack of professionalism when he showed up to his first big boy presser with a giant chaw in his mouth. He should have been talked to about it at the time. That he wasn't should have been a red flag to the entire state that Frat Party 2018-2022 was going to be our program's worst freefall.

If you are looking for outside hires that don't have previous history with Rhule then don't hold your breath. Rhule stated in a recent interview that he felt one of his biggest mistakes at Carolina was hiring a lot assistant coaches he didn't have a history with. He is supposedly a very demanding boss and can be tough to work for if you don't know what his expectations are. He won't go that route this time.

I think I was looking for coaches that had experience with Rhule but that were also multi time Broyles award winners. Admittedly, I am never happy. ;)

    This one hurts. A LOT:bang

Not so sure it does.  Wasn't super impressed with his senior season stats and also has not shown even close to being the hardest worker in the room. WR tend to be diva's in general I know, and obviously he is physically gifted.  Hope the kid proves me wrong but I wouldn't be surprised to watch this one bust.

  7. I'll say this.. Everything I see about Rhule indicates this was a tremendous hire. He is doing things at an exponentially more professional level than Frost ever did. He is grounded, has a plan, doesn't just say his plan but puts things into action to achieve the plan. While he may or may not be the savior the program needs, what I am certain of is that if he can not get it done, and I mean this... Nobody can get it done.

question,  If it comes out that this disturbance had to do with an affair by the second party, does it change the narrative..??

No.  If he found out his wife was cheating on him it would have been ok for him to leave the house and check into a hotel for a few days why they figured out counseling or separation.  Physically attacking her? Never a reasonable response.

I've had the luxury of watching a ton of Baylor games when he was the head coach, and I was always very impressed.  Was pissed the NFL was calling him and he took a flyer.  We got ourselves a good one.  Knew he'd be a great hire and fit, but I didn't think it would happen.

Ya, those contract hangups with 70million over 18 months to the 3rd power times infinity squared almost ruined everything.
