  1. ESPN was all over Arkansas being better than they are. It was non-stop through the game, at halftime, and the short discussion(s) with the night recap. I'm beginning to wonder if you actually watch games or as someone else mentioned, are trolling. Wait a minute, you can't defend your Georgia stance and this is the best you come up with? Come on dude, spare me the time if this is the best you have. The 2010 Holiday Bowl had to deal with playing someone twice in a 3-month span, after Sandusky-ing them on their home turf. No matter who it is, it's tough to beat a team twice in the same season. Washington proved it that year, Wisconsin proved it in 2011 and Alabama proved it against LSU years prior. With all the smack UW talked after that ass-whooping in Seattle, there shouldn't of been one issue for motivation with Nebraska. None. Nada. Zilch. UW beat us, plain and simple. B2B bowl games, 12 months apart, are a completely different discussion. UGA would've had a much better argument regarding motivation the previous bowl game. Yards away from a national title game and boom, dream season over and Capital One Bowl here we come.
  2. Irrelevant to the discussion but I'd venture to guess 2-3 at the best. They're not a good team, no matter how much ESPN hypes them up.
  3. Less question marks? Obvious? The 2013 Georgia defense gave up the most yards per play of any defense in Richt's history as the HC and was bottom 3 or 4 in the SEC of ppg allowed. They lost 3 of their top 4 (5?) defensive backs and I believe 2 of the 3 kicked off (or transferred) were starters. Georgia also lost the all-time leading passer in the history of the SEC. Their OL returned 2 starters. Granted, they added Pruitt and that's perceived as a huge upgrade to 3rd and Grantham. Your sarcasm is noted but it doesn't work with me. I don't believe it was the greatest ever and spare me the typical SEC loss response of, "we weren't motivated". You're further proving my stance without even knowing it. Please continue, this is enjoyable.
  4. Gotcha, I thought your response was directed at that post, my bad.
  5. who believes that? they just have some of the best teams right now. That didn't take long, check out the next response after your question.
  6. People that believe the hype of an entire conference based on x-number of teams. See my post on page 1, Georgia and Nebraska as a prime example. Coincidentally, nobody has responded to the comparison and questions head on. I'm sure if ESPN discusses it, it would help you & Polo come up with a response.
  7. You are the exact person ESPN targets week in and week out.
  8. This is the one I referenced before. It doesn't bother me one bit, I do enjoy discussing it and I also watch the BTN show. Outside of the two mentioned, I'm not aware of others.
  9. With Alabama's schedule, yes, I believe NU would be 8-1 at this point.
  10. Do you care to respond to my previous post or is the above hit and run more your style?
  11. All we hear and read is do something about it and beat them. So, someone finally beats them and what happens? You guessed it, a reference to the previous years winners is brought up as proof. What about Nebraska beating Georgia? It drops Georgia from the 2013 EOS rankings and puts Nebraska at #25. What did that do for Nebraska on a national scale, going forward? Absolutely nothing, Georgia starts this season out as the #8 team in the country, receiving 1 first place vote. WUT!?! How in the living heck can anyone put Georgia that high? It's because of the SEC, that's why, there's no other sane reason to start them that high and have others lower. Does the SEC have some of the best teams in the country? Right now, absolutely without question. However, just because a conference has 4 good teams doesn't give reason to inflate the others. For sh#t's sake, Alabama struggled to beat a bad Arkansas team (Indiana has more SEC wins in 1 season than Arkansas does in 1 1/2 seasons) and lost no ground in the polls. Matter of fact, they gained points. Nebraska doesn't struggle and beats a bad Rutgers team, by 18 points. And guess what, Nebraska dropped in the polls and lost points. How can you, or anyone else, justify this?
  12. Florida State (ACC), winners of 20-some straight games, Oregon/Arizona State (PAC), KSU/TCU (B12), Notre Dame (Ind/ACC) and Michigan State (B1G) all disagree with your sarcastic but humorous response. There's 7 of the top 10 teams in the county, I fully expect ESecPN to slobber over each one this upcoming Saturday. After all, it's about "the highest ranked teams", right?!?
  13. Why does Baylor or Kansas State need two impressive wins? Baylor has a win over a current #6 team with 2 more ranked opponents remaining. KSU has a win over a current #15 team with 2 more ranked opponents remaining. We have absolutely nothing available to boost our resume' outside of Wisconsin. Beat them, and they're out of the top 25. Lose to them and we're in the bottom fifth of the top 25 if not out completely. That all changes if we advance to the B1GCG but quite honestly, I don't believe that's enough to get us in though. ((I don't believe any of the four; TCU, KSU, Baylor, OU will be out of T25 by seasons end)) We have to bolster our OOC schedule. If that means keep an open date every September for a neutral game, so be it. At some point, sacrificing home game revenue becomes a serious topic to explore. And based on our financials at this moment, it wouldn't be that big of a loss, pending what we get paid for a neutral site game. Heck, for 2015, Florida State has two open dates. I would look long and hard at cancelling the South Alabama game on September 12th and scheduling Florida State - in Atlanta, Georgia or whatever "neutral site". Yes, I know we play Miami the following week however, if we want to be in the discussion, we have to do something about it instead of allowing others dictate our situation. Colorado does nothing for us in 2018 and 2019. Cancel the damn series and be patient with scheduling till the season before. Find out who's hot in the top 10 with plenty of returning starters the following season, make it publicly known we're looking for a premier neutral site location (just like LSU/Wisconsin, FSU/OSU, whatever that September match-up in Atlanta is) and go from there. /rambling rant
  14. Link Would like to see previous years data for a better conclusion, see graphs below...
  15. I already knew you were throwing something at a wall in hopes it sticks, rhetoric question remains rhetoric. FTR, the "research" took less than 10 seconds, try it next time. When random guy on a message board is trying to make a point, "actual factual" information should be a priority. Since NU joined the B1G, there shouldn't be a doubt for anyone that the B12 has been a better conference. Will that continue? Nobody knows but four years later, the B12 looks pretty good while the B1G is taking hits all over the country.
  16. That is a pathetic schedule three years ago or three years from now. "EVERY year." lols Three years ago, OU finished #15, Texas finished UR, Baylor finished #12, Oklahoma State finished #3, Kansas State finished #16 and TCU finished #13. Do you just throw something at a wall and hope it sticks?
  17. Any of the four will do for me, in no specific order, assuming we don't make the final four: Whatever top SEC school left out of the playoff Georgia, continued exposure in the state with coach Warren hitting it hard Mizzou, shut them up since they're in the SEC Arizona State, we've lost way too many recruiting battles against them
  18. You lost me on Sipple. He's the biggest blow-hard, regardless who the coach is at Nebraska. This is the same guy who defended Callahan, up to the last minute & openly admits he will support whoever is the head coach of Nebraska. Sipp doesn't belong in the same sentence as Benning.
  19. I chose to ignore your silly words, as anyone would do in an opinion based discussion.
  20. That's a wild assumption that doesn't cover all Husker fans, wouldn't you say?
  21. I'm not sure about "the process" but I gave Bo, his staff and players plenty of credit when it's deserved. And yes, that includes the games you mention above.
  22. Pull up the 2013 Iowa game, fast forward to the 3Q around the 8 or 9 minute mark. If you don't think what happened had a negative impact on the team let me know now, there's no purpose discussing it any further.
  23. +1 Husker fans mocked Brian Kelly his first year at Notre Dame, Then a certain day in November came and the rest became history. Wear your emotions on your sleeve, that's your choice however, when it negatively impacts the group you're leading, look in the mirror and point the thumb. Personally, I prefer the Bo "thumb pointing" Pelini returns instead of what he has become. And Nebraskan's can look no further then Tom Osborne and elected officials sitting on the Board of Regents for allowing what once was frowned upon by Husker Nation. Let's hope the recent change of perception continues, and he proves it when the heat is turned up during a Saturday this upcoming season. I will gladly eat massive crow if Bo accomplishes something expected of a blue blood like Nebraska.
  24. I went through the first 4 pages and didn't see this thread. Let me be clear, this isn't expectations for a specific season. And if this has been discussed too much, please delete, don't want to clutter the board.
