I posted here a couple of weeks ago to say that I am a new Husker fan. (An agreement I made with a friend of mine that is a huge fan) Can you all post some of your favorite Nebraska football videos in this thread so I can start psyching myself up for the upcoming season? Anything good from the last season would be most appreciated.

I spent years in Atlanta. UGA is always overrated.

I don't live in Lawrence, or in Kansas either for that matter, so I can't speak to the mood there. The general feel I get is resignation right now. We have to wait and see what Weis will do going forward because we're not in a position where we can just fire him. Firing the last couple coaches has done that to us. However, the success of 2007 made most of us hungry for more, so I don't think there is apathy. Having a couple giants in close proximity like Nebraska and Oklahoma puts Kansas in a tough position. NU and OU suck all the oxygen out of the room and leave little room for KU to improve. We'll just have to wait and see. ETA - I am more than happy to answer any questions you all may want to ask about KU, but I do need to be educated about "our" Huskers for next year. I would love to read some threads about the positional depth chart and what expectations we should have about players/positions as well as expectations for the season overall.

Yeah, you won't find me defending the purps. Neither will you catch me ever saying anything good about Missouri [vomit.] I saw a quote some time back attributed to Tom Osborne in which he said that Missouri always wanted to be Nebraska in football and Kansas in basketball, but they were neither. They were just Missouri. Thank you Tom. I couldn't have said it better myself.

In football? Probably not good at all. I don't really know what to expect, but 4-5 wins should be our high-end for expectations. I don't even want to talk about the low-end.

I vow that I am not here to troll. Part of the reason I chose the s/n that I did was to be completely open and honest about why I am here. Not that the mods/admins would need it, but they have my permission to boot me if I ever become a troll. I can be opinionated, but that should not ever come out as anything anti-Nebraska. As part of introducing myself I want to say that one of my favorite NU memories was from the NC game when Tommy Frazier busted out of the gang of Florida tacklers to run for a long touchdown. It was especially awesome as I was standing among a lot of UF fans.

I have been a Kansas fan for most of my life. I have always rooted a bit for Nebraska, but it was never important to me. I made a deal with a friend who is a huge Nebraska fan that I will become a Nebraska football fan. As part of the agreement I registered here and intend to participate. I will not be here to tell everyone about KU or to try to make anyone here a Jayhawk fan. My first love is, and always will be, KU. However, since Nebraska left the Big 12 (something for which I never blamed you for doing) I can be both a Nebraska fan and a Kansas fan simultaneously. If Nebraska ever plays Kansas in football, I will root for Kansas, but that won't amount to much. It will probably only end up like it has for almost all of our histories anyway. I hope nobody here will resent the presence of a Kansas fan rooting for Nebraska, but I assure you that I am absolutely sincere in my intentions here. I have a lot to learn here and I am open to being educated. So, for the first and certainly not the last time let me say, GO HUSKERS!
