No. He's a know-it-all NFL guy. He can't even say Dr. Tom's name in a press conference. They've spoken two or three times in 4 years. Callahan bristles at the name of Dr. Tom. That's why Callahan will QUIT within the next 15 days and leave his assistants out to dry. Egomaniac and with no real reason to be.

All in a matter of a few weeks. I saw Pedy at the USC game prior to the game and he had one of these wry smiles on his face. An "I own the world" look. Wonder if he ever dreamed he'd be canned in a matter of weeks. And how about Cally...but a few weeks ago people on this very board were exclaiming "extend his contract NOW!" Why not keep Callahan around as offensive line coach? Let's say that Pelini or whoever was the head coach and they got run over by a mack truck. Kind of like the Mrs. America deal, the runner-up (offensive line coach) could just step in and bat for the head guy for a game or two. He's got 3.5 years of college HC experience so why not?

You guys aren't going to believe this, but I got a returned email from Pud tonight: Dear huskerntx, I hate to tell you this but I got canned today and I'm not going to be able to make good on that suite I promised you and your hoochie mama friends for the A&M game. However before I left today, I emptied all of the liquor out of the suite's frig and it's in my trunk right now. A few hours before game time, if you will meet me at that Shell station 4 blocks south of the stadium on M street I can at least help you out with a little pre-game cocktail. I'm going to be there unloading all of my comp tickets to help fund my retirement. P.S. I've already applied at Wal-Mart to work in the lawn and garden, but I will only have to work part time as ol' Harve figured out I was a screw off 3 days AFTER he gave me my extension. I'm gonna enjoy all those extra paychecks.

I think we are WAY over reacting here. We have ourselves an NFL coach who took his team to the SB. We were one play away from beating Texas. A few breaks from being competitive with OSU. OK so we were a little nervous at Mizzoo, but hey Mizzoo is a good team. USC? Hey, it was USC they're a good team. Callahan says he wants to be here from now on, and I think we owe that to him.

Pederson isn't going anywhere. He's going to get one more crack at getting this straight. Another debacle and he'll be gone, too.

The wheels are in motion, but the buyout/resignation details must be worked out. My guess is they'll be worked out by the end of this week.

Honestly for me, it was in 2004 in Lubbock. I watched that game in disbelief, until the final whistle. Driving back from Lubbock, I told my wife that this deal wasn't going to work out.
