  1. uh, what? I have no idea what that means. All I know is that nothing has changed in their minds. they did a complete 360, so that leaves them back where they started, right? damn, just when you thout we had somethin, these good old country folk confuse us with their talk. those tricky bastadons!!
  2. guess crooting guru MaxEmfinger is prettyimpressed with Fred too heres his review SENIOR ALL-PURPOSE RB Freddie Franklin, 6-0, 190, 4.4, New Orleans Carver, LA - He rushed for 160-yards on only 6 carries and caught 5 passes for 95-yards, giving his 255-yards of total offense as they beat New Orleans Reed by a 66-0 score. - MAX FACTS: - This kid had an incredible 23.2 yards per touch. Someone needs to check this kid out, because he could be the real sleeper of the year in the State of Louisiana.
  3. btw, this Freddie Franklin kid is rumored to be one of Callys main targets and supposed to be a real diamond in the unranked ruff. guess hes a real WCO prototype. Here is a excerpt of a stat from one of his games: CARVER 66 REED 0 October 11, 2003 -- The Rams roll pass Reed scoring on it's first six possessions. Fredrick Franklin had a total of 255 yards and 5 TD's to lead the Rams to a 66-0 victory over the Olympians. He had TD runs of 63, 23, 5, and 35 and caught one TD for 18 yards http://www.leaguelineup.com/miscinfo.asp?m...=orangeandgreen Another FF art from nola.com Carver's Franklin gets to show versatility 08/28/03 By Pierce W. Huff Staff writer/The Times-Picayune Carver senior Frederick Franklin has played basketball with former Carver football standout Lynaris Elpheage, who also played at Tulane, and the two are friends. "In a way (Elpheage) is a hero, because he made it out of here," Franklin said. And this season Franklin wants to be the next Lynaris Elpheage at Carver -- a multiple-position football standout whose athletic ability and drive leads the Rams to a strong playoff run and lands him a scholarship. This is Carver's first year in Class 5A. The Rams are playing in an Orleans Parish district (8-5A) that also includes Abramson, Douglass, Kennedy, McDonogh 35 and Reed. Franklin will play running back, safety, kickoff and punt returner and wide receiver for the second straight season, Carver coach Jack Phillips said. He said he's looking forward to the challenge of having to play all over the field. "My role is to get the rest of the team to play up (at a high level) with me," Franklin said. Franklin rushed for 837 yards and seven touchdowns and caught 16 passes for 188 yards last season. He led Carver in scoring. "We're going to try, between running and passing plays, to get him 25 touches a game (this season)," Phillips said. "If you look at (Franklin's) slicing style, it's like (Hall of Fame running back) Marcus Allen and (former Carver and current St. Louis Rams star) Marshall Faulk. He doesn't get many good licks in a game." Phillips said Franklin is also a scoring threat on kickoff and punt returns. "I think (Franklin) is one of the best returners in high school in the state," Phillips said. "He has good vision and good feet." Franklin said he's not too enthusiastic about playing defense, but he'll do whatever it takes to help the team. "I'm not a guy for tackling or covering," he said. "I like to run away from people." But when it comes to trying to be the next Elpheage, Franklin realizes that playing many positions, including defense, comes with the territory. "In a way it's going to be just like Elpheage, because I'm going to be taking on more of a leadership role on and off the field," Franklin said.

  8. I dont know that RMS has bad intentions when he posted that. i can see how some could read into them as negative but i actually think it was an honest question to find out about other boards. he sounds like he may even secretly admire NU football.. no big deal tho, but yes this is a good board b/c of exactly that. less trash and good opinions with some substance. and like eric said you get what you pay for, and Id say this board is worth every penny and a whole lot more. btw, if you register RMS you can press a link at the top each day to show you the new posts since your last visit, and you will see that there are actually about 30 a day not 2-3. it also emails you when somone responsds to a post you made. pretty slik i think. so getta free acct already. hb
  9. SI Callahan working long hours in Lincoln
  10. AP Callahan comments on his coaching staff- Callahan on defensive coordinator Kevin Cosgrove: “Not only is he a friend, but he is a true professional in every respect,” Callahan said. “I brought Kevin here from the University of Wisconsin because of his expertise, and because of his ability to direct a defense at a championship level." Callahan on defensive backs coach Phil Elmassion: "He has enormous experience in the area of defensive backfield play,” Callahan said. “He’s coached several pros that have gone onto the National Football League. His experience factor alone, and the knowledge that he brings and the expertise that he brings to the table from a technical aspect will only enhance our defense.” Callahan on defensive line coach John Blake: “He’s a very important hire for me because of his ability to not only coach the defensive line at a high level, but also to recruit at a high level. John is a great individual to be around on a daily basis. He’s high energy, motivated and he’ excited about bringing quality players in. "I know the job he's done in the past because I used to but heads with him as a line coach at Philadelphia when he was the defensive line coach with the Dallas Cowboys. So that is a real key hire for us, and one that I’m extremely proud of." Callahan on offensive line coach Dennis Wagner: “He is a person I have great respect for,” Callahan said. “He’s an individual that I considered many times hiring on the professional level. He is a coach that has expertise in offensive line play predicated on his experience with his previous head coach—Pat Hill. "Dennis is an individual that we can bring in here, and that can infuse our team with professional techniques and give our guys the instruction that they need to execute at a high level." Callahan on Scott Downing and Turner Gill: “We’ve hired and retained Scott Downing as our tight ends coach. We’ve also retained Turner Gill and assigned him to wide receivers.” Callahan on hiring the remainder of the staff: “I have not made a determination on the running backs coach at this point or outside linebackers. And I’m hoping still that we can get Jay Norvell to come here to Nebraska, and possibly rectify the situation that he’s currently under with the Oakland Raiders. "That would be a big boost if that could occur, and if it’s not him, we’ll go in another direction.” Footnote: Callahan said that the offensive coordinator he hires will serve as his “eyes in the sky.” During the games Callahan will call the plays from the sideline, and the offensive coordinator in the booth will apprise him of the defensive schemes. Callahan's offensive coordinator will also serve as the QB coach.

  12. Hey wyomingwildmuff. answer me this. 1) what the hell was the purpose of that post? 2) why the hell did you post it in this thread? read the title next time before you just make random worthless posts. but that may be too much to ask from a powermuff like yurself. btw, do everyone a favor and remove the "husker" from your name. you lost your privileges. wyomingwildmuff is more fitting. or else stop posting and go away.
  13. NE takes it. 17-7. Car has no O. TBrady is better than you think. MVP again. take it to the bank.
  14. Im all for some hardball man. lets get it on!! meet me in Omaha. dingerville that is..
  15. who needs the big 12 title game anyway!? its crap and only hurts us in the end. see KSU OU bowl games. I vote for MU. they friggin stink and are shady basturds. theyre draggin us down to the level of the ARKs and other southern schoolz. let the SEC or other garbage conference have em.
  16. SOLID! Wow these kids sound like sum manamals. You cant not like what were gettin outta the new coaches so far. Hopefully it isnt just a hpye period tho and they can cont this nex yr. Man if we can start landin a couple o these 4 stars then we can get some momentum goin and bada bing bada boom we're competin for the title agin!! beatuful. jus beatiful. good wurk boyz!!
  17. I agree Call and/or petey ran Pelini outta town, but I also think BP is flighty and woulda left ina yr or so anyway. I think its well within Turners right to be exploring options - in fact I think he should after the way hes been "passed over" time and time again. BUT this is only compounding our problem of a nothing seeming solid to recruits. I dont think he will get the job but that doesnt matter b/c now recruits get to wait another wk or so to see who might be coaching them this week. this sucks and could cost us Grixby or others that are hanging on to NU by the thread of a Gill.
  18. depends on your def of "compete". is competing taking 2nd in the north even if we get blown out by Kstate again? thats not acceptable. I think he'll be measured at least by pub opinon by the same criteria frank was. alotta people got franks back just based on principle alone and are waiting for a reason to string Petey up.
  19. this kinda bothers me. seems to be just to get a "WCO QB" to say we have one, for recruits or whatever the case. I didnt expect to snatch a QB from Michigan or Flor THIS year, but still, it says alot when the teams that have been passing team for yrs arent even recruiting him let alone offering him anything. Go Joe D!!!
  20. ow Huskers waiting on Norvell availability
  21. owh Will this new offense spread?
  22. owh Grixby will decide soon between Huskers, Irish
  23. Wow, Louisville over Tenn?! another sign of parity taking over the sport. Sucks for you guys. OU typically has a perennial stud TE (am I wrong?) so Im sure one will emerge. thanks for the nsight rms. hb
  24. I think weve talkd about this alot in here but good question anyway Wis. personally i dont think the "make it or break it" measure will be the big12 champ the first yr. I would say that most expect us to struggle this next yr, and there wont be that big of a fuss if we drop 4 games and place 3rd in the north. but we cant get beat by the likes of MU at home, and we have to be at least competitve vs TX. however this wont be acceptable after the first yr. the 2nd yr they will be expected to compete for the title, and probly play in the champ game. Ths will be a very intersting yr, in that we have Kstate at home again. CAn you imagine if somehow we got blown out again by them at home?!! I think that would sign Calls fate. what do the rest of you think. what is going to measure Calls success or failure? I think if there arent significant signs of improvement at least by not geting blown out the 1st yr there will be problems. and if we dont beat all the teams we are supposed to the 2nd yr and beyond (MU, KSU at home, CU at home, ISU etc) and give TX OU and KSU a good run every game there will be turmoil and people lookin for his head. but no I dont think the Big 12 champ in the 1st yr is realistic.
  25. Dear Pile, are facts. is respect. is opinion is the opinion many of us HAD (including you I believe) until the recent positive momentum with new coachs and recruts, and many of us STILL have. He provided legitmate opinons and stats which last time I checked what message boards were all about. Personally i like to hear the other sides take, rather than myopic scarlet & cream haze filled banter. but dont get me wrong, I love some good old fashioned Husker bias myself, and appreciate you pile for stickn up for Husker nation even if your rsponse made no sense. sincerely, bob
