That is the most likely explanation.

Jaimes seems to have us in good shape.  But Farniok has always been kind of a tweener who would probably be better at guard.  Gaylord (and Sichterman) haven't really shown much from what we've been able to see in the spring game and second half vs. B-C plus what they coaches have apparently seen in practice.  After that, you're counting on guys who aren't even signed yet, let alone here.

I was really hoping to be able to slide Farniok to guard.  If you had Jaimes, a JUCO and Benhart (plus Anderson, Lynn, Gaylord and Sichterman) at tackle that would look better to me.  Then you have Wilson, Farniok and Bland/Hixon/Rairdon/Jurgens on the inside.

    Yeah, I don't disagree.

I know you're not discounting this, but it's easy to forget a lot of those guys are still quite young and haven't had that much time in our S&C Program. Development sure feels like it is happening in our program.

Depending on who you listen to, it sounds like we're in a good spot for Bell.  They continue to think we have a good shot at Robinson but it's hard to tell with how long he's drug it out.  I think we've helped ourselves a lot with Pola-Gates.  Might come down to if Alabama has a spot for him or not.

After that, I'm not really sure.  I thought we'd be pretty interested in a JUCO OT but the last report I saw was we've kind of backed off there.  Not sure why.

I suppose they just think they have some guys in Jaimes, Farniok, Gaylord, Benhart, Anderson, Lynn.

I doubt they are telling him that he will start either.  They are telling him there is an opportunity to play early, the rest is up to him.

Yeah, that's what I was implying. 2 days after a commitment, there is never going to be "word" that he won't be starter for next season lmao.

Think we should pump the brakes on evaluating unsigned prospects on the two-deep. The OL is especially difficult to be game ready as a true freshman.

Yeah, let's be real friggin' honest.

"THE WORD" is complete crap. No one on the coaching staff is telling anyone "he won't start" 2 days after he committed. Goodness.

  5. and the only prescription is more HYPOTHETICALS!

It's Tuesday and this one is sure to make your heart race, your mind wander and your... never mind. Let's stop there.

Let's rehash this year's hypotheticals thus far:

Did the possibility of a 2-1 start make us Kings of the West?

Will Nebraska destroy Jim Harbaugh's life?

How high are we going to be ranked when we go 7-6 on the year?

Which Bowl Game We Got Bowlsby?

Last week we questioned whether or not we could win out, AFTER we beat tOSU.

Let's move onto this week's H. It's clearly a foregone conclusion that we are defeating tOSU this weekend. The stars have aligned. Instead of toppling Harbaugh, we have altered our course; It's clear that the time has come for Nebraska to end Urban's run. Now, you may wonder what is the hypothetical? Oh... I have a doozy for you. A loss to Nebraska almost certainly ends any hope at the B1G Championship game for tOSU, it 100% destroys their playoff chances.

When Nebraska takes down tOSU in a lopsided affair on Saturday, is it Urban Meyer's final game?

My answer is yes. Wave the Flag UM.

Curious how fast he is. Just curious on his recruitment. Maybe the Pro Style tag has me thrown

He's not a Pro-Style. I've seen this many times that evaluators have made clear, he can run it. Not really sure why they continue to leave the Pro-Style tag on...

I feel very confident that he will have his 2019 QB locked up by the Spring Game.  ;)

Well yes. hah. I had a couple thoughts going on in my head. I should've just said 2020-2021 by the spring game.

I assume this is going to become a hot topic here soon to see who is going to get theirs burned.

Looks like we might be able to use a redshirt on D. Thomas as he is sidelined and can still play in 1 more game.

    Jurgens is now a redshirt.

Appears for now that Dixon will be redshirted.

  8. One element that we are perhaps not realize is that the QB run game isn't really a thing for tOSU right now. This changes things a little bit.

2018: Yes, JT lit it up in the air, but he also had a couple big 3rd down runs for 1st downs. 10 carries 48 yards.

2017: JT had 8 carries for 39 yards and our starting QB went off in an ambulance that night.

Haskins has 35 carries for 56 yards on the season. Unless they end up playing Martell some, we do not have to worry about QB run game much at all.

Time's are a changin' boys. Just wait and see if you don't want to believe.

Yup.  Despite having much more talent, their defense hasn't looked that much better than ours.  Final score:  Ohio State 51 - Nebraska 38

I don't know how some of you guys do it.

I've never went into a game predicting a multi-score loss.

Totally agree.  However, there are a lot of other factors contributing to how well they do once they get here.  Obviously you hope you are getting guys who will develop into the players you hope they will be.  But player development is a separate - though related - issue from recruiting, imo.

So I think comparing recruiting classes is fair.  And this class has the chance to be one of the top classes on that list in regards to how it is rated.  Which is awfully good considering they were at least a year behind recruiting most of these guys.

Well...Yes. Let's talk about what's already happened with 4 stars that are on the team or were on the team.
