If anyone can pull a defeat from the jaws of victory, it's this staff. They've done it 4 times before this year.

It's all about pride, man. It'll be huge. Hell yeah it'll be huge. If Nebraska wins against Rutgers, and Iowa is still undefeated, I really like this team's chances against Iowa. Coming into the game at 5-6, one win will secure a bowl bid while simultaneously spoiling Iowa's undefeated season. Gotta take care of business with Rutgers. But if we do, the guys are gonna be jacked for top-5 Iowa. Oh, I'm all for the pride factor, the winning to get into a bowl game, the spoiling Iowa's (and Sparty's) run at an undefeated season, all of that. Showdown is just not a word I would use for a 5-6 team vs. 11-0 team.

How much of a showdown is it, really, if one team comes in with at least 6 losses?

Detroit? How did Detroit get a bowl game? Isn't that like having to play the World Cup in Qatar? I guess that's your punishment for finishing 5-7, you are sent to Detroit over the holidays to think about how the err of your ways. Detroit's hosted two Super Bowls, and I think two Final Four's. It's certainly a worthy host for a possible 5-7 team, 6-6 we hope

Same here man. I started tearing up when that clock hit 0:00. These kids have been through so much, us fans have been through so much and to have a win like this to hang your hat on was just awesome. I've been critical of this staff throughout the year, and I think they'd even admit they've earned some of the criticism. Sure there were some boneheaded calls this game by Langsdorf that had me shaking my head, but honestly that happens in every game for just about every team. No criticism from me this week, I am beyond proud of this team right now. Could not be happier. GO BIG RED! I'm with you guys on the happy train this week. I'll take two more and I hope the Hawkeyes are 11-0 when they roll in. Feeding them and Sparty and giant turd-burger in the same month will make some of this angst go away. But, I think last night underscored the bumbling decisions made by the coaching staff all year, and even last night. Had the coaches not had their collective heads in their (system) arses all year, we might be looking at 8-2 and still controlling our own destiny for the B1G championship game I guess thats why I can't get sky high over this win. It almost seemed easy to get in a 4-6 season, when we would lay a massive egg if we were 8-1 coming in.

No doubt, this win was for the kids and their parents, and the fans. This win was not for SE. He can blow it out his sphincter. Every one of those kids deserved a win over an undefeated opponent and so do the fans out there in Lincoln who show up and support the team the way they do. I am happy for that part of the group. But. my hope is that SE does not see this as the one giant leap for the staff. They did as much as they could to make it difficult on the kids to win this game
