  1. Hey now But yeah "National Chumps," maybe want to lighten the load of verbal slaughterhousing. I recall a tale of another Michigan fan that went by the wayside for offensive language not too long ago.. R.I.P. WOLVERINE BLUEJAY.... or BLUEJAY WOLVERINE... whichever it was I find that you can stay in the game so long as you 1) try not to insinuate the stupidity of anyone and 2) make argument with some kind of logic behind them-- even if other folks don't agree with it
  2. I couldn't find a better professional school that offers as much clinical experience as Creighton. Michigan is wonderful from a medical/dental research standpoint, but I thought Creighton was a better fit for clinical/primary care exposure. The short of it is that Creighton's medical/dental schools are awesome from a clinical experience standpoint-- and that's what was my primary interest in selecting where I went. CUMC is close to downtown Omaha and has a huge draw on the local public-- and so patient base is great (for example, the dental clinic is always full). That's good, but the school's curriculum has a comparative(to many other schools of the same fields) focus on time spent in the clinic-- so the requirements for graduation include more experience and repetition with clinical procedures. By comparison, UofM is located in Ann Arbor (which unfortunately doesn't have quite the patient base that it would say.. if it were based out of Detroit). It's not that much of a hinderence though-- the clinics still don't have much trouble filling. Michigan balances slightly more towards classroom/laboratory exposure than does Creighton. I was more interested in a school with a greater clinical focus-- and so that's why I like Creighton. Which school is better? Well, Michigan might be- but for the characteristics I was most interested in, I thought Creighton was a better fit for me. All medical/dental schools have some sort of balance between clinical and class/lab experiences... and there are people that gravitate to all areas of that. People that want the MD or DDS and then go into some sort of research are going to pull more towards class/labs in all likelihood-- and people more interested in primary care/patient exposure are likely to lean towards more clinic time. I'm a part of the latter group. I hope that answers your question.
  3. That's a good post. You want me to take the Huskers and 10.5 points? Or you want me to take Michigan minus 10.5 points?
  4. yah! bluejay college football SUX!!! it's like they don't even have a program!!!! LOL!!!!1!!!11 /sarcasm Yeah, no kidding... gosh if I were really true to my school, I would drop Michigan football and go for Creighton's football team. Pick one team and stick with it, right? I hear we had a pretty good team back in the pre-WWII days though... I think our football stadium is a parking lot now... You'll have to excuse me for not giving a crap about UNO and UNL football, two schools I have never had any affiliation with or loyalties to. Well then you will have to excuse about 98% of the board members about not giving a crap what you post here. GOD DO I LOVE TROLLS! That's fine by me- I'm here for that 2% It's purely coincidental that the majority of my comments peeve the other 98%... and thanks so much for showing me the love- it must be that Husker class, right?

  6. Great counter-argument I defend Michigan because it's a school where a lot of my family has gone and it's part of my home. I guess you'd call it 'passion.' I think a lot of your fellow Husker fans would know something about that. Did you miss the bus on that?
  7. Traitor? I would guess that you assume I am a Nebraska native in reading your post. If you had been paying any attention to threads over the past few weeks, you would know that I am a Michigan native in grad school at Creighton. In light of that, you can drop all your uninformed jive. I was a Michigan football fan long before I came to Creighton. I accept your apology in advance
  8. and there is a chance that i will wake up and be a multi-millionaire tomorrow by way of the powerball. unlikely though just like UM winning by more then 14 points. NU28 MU24 Husker Rob, you never cease to amaze me. At least your prediction isn't completely ridiculous. I have to commend you for your brush with the realm of possibility for that one.
  9. Hey, it would sure save you guys some money and grief It's not a bad idea, if you think about it. Jussst kidding
  10. Well, believe it or not, this is actually a world where both Michigan and Creighton can have good academic programs. I live in a world where both are good. If you were going to school what I am going for- then both schools are quite capable. Besides, using my graduate school decision as your entire basis for the justification of Michigan not being a good school is a rather poor talking point. On a lighter note--- Merry Christmas all you dang Husker fans! if UM is such a fine institution of higher learning then why doesnt they have more academic all-americans. I am not talking about the football team. I am talking about all sports. When I speak of Michigan being a great academic institution, I speak of the University as a whole. Look at where your school ranks academically... you guys like all these numbers to back up standpoints- so I'll do a little research for you... U.S. News and Report 2006... Ranking of National Universities 25th: University of Michigan, tied with UCLA 97th: University of Nebraska, tied with Kansas, Vermont, and the Illinois Insitute of Technology (no joke) (Harvard was ranked #1, followed by Princeton) **No Big Ten school ranked lower than #74(Minnesota) **Nebraska ranks T#10 among Big XII schools (ahead of OU and Mizzou) **Michigan ranks #2 among Big Ten schools (Northwestern, #12) ***Comparatively, Creighton ranks #1 among Midwestern Universities-Master's.. this indicates that the school offers a full range of undergrad and master's programs, but don't carry as many doctoral programs. Fortunately, Creighton does carry the "big boys" of doctoral programs (MD, DDS, etc.) Ranking of Top Business Programs #3: University of Michigan, tied with Cal-Berkeley-- ranked only behind Univ. of Pennsylvania and MIT. If I wanted to see where Nebraska ranks, I'd have to pay $14.95 for the premium online edition. I don't want to donate to my research just yet. Ranking of Top Medical Schools #9: University of Michigan I was going to have to pay to see where Nebraska ranks for that one too-- the last one they showed for free was a 5-way tie for #46. So we know UNMC ranks no higher than #51. Ranking of Top Law Schools #8: University of Michigan #77: University of Nebraska, tied with 5 others- including Lewis & Clark College of Oregon Michigan also ranked no lower than #6 in any of the following programs nationally: Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Health-Service Administration Nebraska was unlisted among any of the aforementioned. So maybe you have more academic all-americans because NU's curriculum is easier? I have friends that transfered from Nebraska to Creighton-- and they thought Creighton was a lot more difficult... maybe that's how it is between Michigan and Nebraska.
  11. Wow.. did you bring your pom poms and miniskirt too? In reference to previous posts, you're right- Michigan fans aren't excited about this game. Unfortunately for the Huskers, that doesn't apply for the 11 men that will be on the field. Michigan players feel disrespected and feel they have something to prove in light of that. Also- husker rob- I continually see little thought put into your posts... the likelihood of Nebraska 14-point victory is something of fantasy island. Michigan comes in a 12-point favorite... the largest spread of all games. Again, Michigan has not lost a game by more than 7 this year: 7, 3, 3, and 4. Two of those losses come against BCS opponents (OSU and ND). Already I hear you saying "but, but, we beat Colorado by 27 and they were favored by 14." That's nice- Colorado sucks.. much like Indiana and Purdue. Michigan is not Colorado, so you can drop that from your thought process. I can appreciate all of your personal enthusiasm for your team, but in a realistic light, the Huskers don't hold a candle to Michigan's toughest competition. Michigan doesn't lose games by any considerable margin... practically ever. If you think this Nebraska team is going to surprise Michigan that much- I am sorry to say that you are off your proverbial rocker. You beat Colorado by 27... the same team Texas knocked off by 67 right after. Texas is a great team, but I have never seen a more pathetic Colorado team in any amount of recent history. I'm confident that Clemson will also deliver a significant blow to the Buffs as well. You have been inconsistent. If the team that showed up most weeks this year is the Husker team you present- you will lose by a significant margin. If the team that shows up against Colorado or Texas Tech-- you will stay in the game, but unless Michigan self-destructs, will also most likely lose. Michigan has the better team. It's almost insulting to have you insinuate any differently considering we were a combined 3 minutes away from a BCS game. Meanwhile, Nebraska played like a$$ for practically the entire season. You guys haven't played anyone this year and in two days you will have a taste of what top quality competition is. The Unviersity of Michigan (UM) football team will be ready to play in two days and will defeat Nebraska regardless of how many cheerleaders you pack into that stadium. Goodluck.
  12. My prediction is somewhere between the two polar opposites... (I.E. if Michigan would win by 21 playing real well and lose by 4 playing very poorly).. I take a rough average and say Michigan will probably win by about 10. What's the current spread? 11.5? Sure, I'll say Michigan 31 Nebraska 17. Happy now? You know there still is that possibility that Michigan wins by 10^10... I'm not arrogant enough to believe that just yet though MEEEERRRRYYY CHRISTMAS
  13. Well, believe it or not, this is actually a world where both Michigan and Creighton can have good academic programs. I live in a world where both are good. 14. Again, a well thought out discussion by skersfan. I agree that Nebraska does have a chance to win-- albeit a very slim chance. If Michigan comes out and plays as they are capable though, I wouldn't be surprised to see Michigan win by 14-21 points.
