Yes Trev needs to end the misery now. We have ONE Power 5 win this season and are guaranteed to finish tied for last in our division.
Does Northwestern even count as a win this season?

It’s not false. I am not a Frost sunshine pumper. But to ignore lots of the bad calls this season is just to fit this fire Frost at all cost narrative. Frost sucks at attention to detail. So he’s already living on a razor thin edge. When refs blow calls and they have, this type of team that is sloppy to begin with will lose excruciating games like we have all grown accustomed to.
You're wrong. I'll keep saying it. You. are. wrong. Dead wrong. Sorry, but the refs aren't why we suck. A penalty is NOT bad because it goes against the Huskers. They called a terrible targeting call earlier and corrected it on replay. We got some make-up calls...it goes both ways. Good teams do not constantly complain about the officiating. they simply don't. It's trash talk. Please stop. We finished 3-9. We haven't beaten a ranked opponent in forever. We haven't competed for a conference title in forever. We can't even win the West Division...and that isn't because the refs don't want us to...it's because we aren't good enough to compete against the weaker division in our conference.

Heck my uncle Frank would do better than Frost next season
Give Uncle Frank a shot! Can't get any worse. Maybe he's the spark this team needs...who's to say he isn't?

It could be both you know. Frost has not done well but the refs have driven the nail in the coffin.
This is patently false. The refs aren't perfect, but they don't play. They call what they see. We have poor coaching, poor execution and poor play when it counts. That's why we keep losing.

In other news, we are playing for a share of the conference title in volleyball after the game...

the crowd is keeping it very classy...

Say what you want about Frost, the refs are absolute garbage.
Yeah, that's why we are headed for 3-9, the Refs...got it.

If this is a catch, Iowa had a touchdown earlier...

I apologize. I thought today was different. That today we would be happy. I was wrong. This team sucks.

What would the season have looked like if Smothers played the entire season? This offense looks a lot more sound than it has all year. fewer mistakes. more grit.

We are going to win this game. Finally showing we want it more than the other team. Hope we can build off of this

Iowa's offense should get credit for that forced fumble. At least we recovered it!

We aren't exactly putting on a tackling clinic. Giving this drive away

Frost irritates me with his constant whining and screaming at the officials

How do the Huskers give this away in the second half?
penalties, turnovers, blown coverage...but maybe they don't do any of that and win against a poor Iowa team.

Steve Pederson, and Bill Callahan happened.
We're getting back there . Our guys, even my favorite two linemen Corcoran and Benhart, are still very young with a chance to become much better with better coaching.
Mmmmm'kay. That gets us to 2007. Add maybe 4, 5 years...we are at 2012. It's almost 2022. I still cannot accept not having a big, athletic offensive line.

I haven't browsed every page in this thread, but if the O-line is the reason AM was so bad at crucial times...what is going to be different? The bigger question for me is HOW DOES NEBRASKA NOT HAVE A MASSIVE LINE? Our strength program was the model for D-I at one time??? Our walk-on program, too. WTAF?! Not having big strong dudes on the lines is simply not acceptable here.

Since this is looked at as a "bowl game" I really hope that Frost and his players are not too worn out from a long season to play, like before. I do not think that an OC will be announced, as I am betting that Frost is still on the hot seat and a big loss may still get him canned. Who wants to come into that. Vegas has the Huskers by 4, which is probably right, but Frost and Martinez will choke on a ditch chicken bone down the stretch and F it up. Hawks by a few (the Hawk defense will score their only touchdown, but 4 field goals added to it will be enough)
a "bowl game"???? WTAF. it's Iowa City. In November. No swag. No sunny destination (sorry Detroit/NYC)...this isn't even close to a bowl game. It's on the schedule, we didn't earn it. it's just a game. One I hope we actually figure out how to win, but just the last game in an otherwise terrible season.

Why do you come on here to be negative.
Because I have been frustrated for about two decades...I believe I have earned the right to be critical. To be honest. To long for a return to the days where we win conference games against anyone not named Northwestern. We suck. That is demonstrable fact. We don't have to suck, but we do. It's that simple. I watch tons of bowl games, and I generally cheer for our conference, but I am tired of watching our rivals play in bowls and we have to beg for a bid with less than 6 wins because...our fans piss away their money??? Whatever. I'm bitter, I'm frustrated.

End of half/game, two minute drives.
You know the big ones with the lack of urgency
At this point, aren't they all big ones though?

It's Badger week. We MUST win! Conference title hangs in the balance, but also to save face...they embarrassed us in our HOUSE. We need to return the favor.

I just can’t wait to see what creative new way Frost can think of for losing this one. By now we should have covered all possibilities but I am sure Frost will prove me wrong.
I hate Iowa. I hope that this team finds a way to ruin Iowa’s chances of getting to the big ten championship game. At this point, this win is the only thing we have left this season. If Frost finds a way to take that away from us then he will be the grinch that stole Christmas.
Hurt Iowa's chances and help Wisconsin's...Hobson's Choice anyone? I'm here for beating Iowa though, regardless! GBR

HAHAHAHA...why would anyone transfer here? Now? to play? maybe...but playing on a losing team isn't exactly the direct path to the NFL.

For myself, play selection was the bigger issue at the end. 3 TOs, 11 yards to go and a little over 30 seconds is near an eternity. Granted everything went to s#!t after the hold. But I would have loved to see that option look with Belt that had gotten ya almost 5-8 all game on 1st from the 11. No matter the success of the play call the first TO afterwards. Come up with your two best short field plays and there are your 2nd and 3rd down plays. If you are tackled inbounds on either of those plays of course TO number two. Best scenario you've scored and you have a TO to come up with your best goal line play for the the 2 point conversion. In my made up "second guessing, recliner coaching world" one of those two plays on second and third down would been a play to get the ball to Allen(which SHOULD have been stressed in the real situation).
That drive, of all time sensitive drives throughout the SF era, is probably in the bottom 3-5% of bad clock management drives.
How can you choose among terrible drives in the SF era? Serious question.

What did we learn Iowa edition
in Husker Football

I learned that if Frost was a man, his post game press conference after this commercial break would be him saying, he is resigning for the good of the program and waiving his buyout clause. He wants the program to return to it's former glory and clearly he isn't the one to lead the team there. Take responsibility, show some class. That's what I want to hear. Not some BS about a close game, the refs...none of it. Just contrition, acceptance and admit he is in way over his head. He just isn't capable of effectively coaching at this level.
