I mean ... the Mets have at least won 9 out of 13 ....

    There's hope.  Right???

I'm trying my friend. I'm trying. I'm convinced Atlanta has a group of ex-CIA people on payroll where their sole job is to blackmail members of player's families in order for them to sign these team friendly deals. I mean, it's insane how team friendly some of these contracts are.

Nearly everyone was all-in and super excited about the Frost hire and his first couple of seasons.  So, when he crapped the bed for 5 years, NU fans felt kind of lost near the end of last season.  Shoot, there was a good percentage of the fan base who thought NU should have hired Mickey Joseph as the full-time coach, even though he had no prior head coaching experience and had never been involved in rebuilding a program.  So, when Rhule was hired after his failure at Carolina, and when NU fans saw the contract which he got, many fans are taking a wait and see approach with him, just because they don't want to get burned again.  Rhule was the pragmatic hire, while some fans wanted a splash hire.

With Colorado, they made the splash in Deion, and it has generated a lot of attention and buzz for their program.  CU needed to do that because nobody cared about CU football the past few years.  I have lived 30 minutes from Boulder for the past 15 years, and even when they have had years of success, they get very little attention in the area.  CU football has been having serious money issues, so they had to take a chance at Deion to generate interest and money.  While some think Deion is going to be a sure-fire success, I have a lot of doubts with him.

Rhule has basically been the guy I wanted NU to hire since he got let go at Carolina. I think he's the perfect fit for what Nebraska needs. If it doesn't work out with Rhule, man, that would really stink.

  3. As of right now, here's how I see the team stacking up:

    125: Caleb Smith

133: Kyle Burwick or Jacob Van Dee

    141: Brock Hardy

    149: Ridge Lovett

157: Peyton Robb (Antrell Taylor until Robb is healthy)

    165: Bubba Wilson

    174: Elise Brown Ton

    184: Lenny Pinto

    197: Silas Allred

    285: Owen Pentz

Pretty fun squad in all honesty.

Really interesting news here and a solid get out of the portal. Looks like Pentz is going to go HWT which will give Andrews some time to bulk up. Pentz is a pretty tough guy and has quite a few scalps on his wall.  He owns career wins over All-Americans Yonger Bastida, Ethan Laird, Jake Woodley, Stephen Buchanan and he stuck Eric Schultz infamously (for us) a couple years ago at NCAAs. If he can't beat out Andrews, he has a RS available.

What's wrong with Sean Callahan?  He does a great job of reporting Nebraska news.

I've heard he's...not the best guy to work for and I'll leave it at that.

  6. Ugh, now I'm really torn. I'd really like to see Nelson go to NU but I also really don't like Sean Callahan who I think is a schmuck and the thought of him having to drive back and forth across the state for basically no reason makes me giggle like a little schoolgirl.

Good old Shatel, nothing like dropping national titles and mentioning that Bahl might have the ability to revive Nebraska as a brand with local kids. Put less pressure on her Tom. Man he annoys me at times. He seems like he's stuck in the late 90s/early 2000s in a lot of ways.

Yep.  Their transfer outs just kinda snowballed too after the first few players left combined with the coaching change.  Kinda sad to see happen to a good program.

We are actually heading down to Wichita this afternoon.  Son is pitching in Eck stadium tonight for a tourney there this weekend.

Nice! Safe travels my man! The stadium looks quite a bit different than the old Mo Valley days haha. IIRC, they made some upgrades a couple years ago. Place looks pretty sharp on TV.

Speaking of Wichita State….they got decimated in the portal.  I was hoping Ingram would have transferred to NU but KState snagged him

I ended up watching about 10 Wichita State games this year and they had a really talented core of guys. The new coach has his work cut out for him, the AD I think dropped the ball by not letting the interim coach get the job.

  10. I get going to Georgia if that's where he ends up but it'll be annoying. I just figured he wasn't going to Nebraska, he'd just end up at Notre Dame that at least would be interesting to me and Notre Dame is TE U.
