I showed up last year on this board after a lot of Husker fans thought we (the Jayhawks) were still the little sisters of the poor. You all made some great big plays, and got it done in overtime, this time, so congrat to you all. I would like to point out, that is three strong games in a row from Kansas, and two in Loncoln. I hope someday I stop by and see that people don't get mad for barely beating KU. These boy under Mangino missed the memo they are supposed to suck. Other than a pasting from Texas last year, we have been competitive in pretty much every game we have been in for 3 years now. Should be a great game in Lawrence next year! You all had a great start and made plays to stay in it. 3 bombs and an 8 yard drive made for interesting offense. Adam Barman played WAY better than he did last week, and that is by far the best offense that has shown up (everyone else just put 8 and 9 in the box, because our freshman QB, Meier, was an interception machine). You all represented, as always, with your fans. If that game was in Lawrence, I think we woulda won. You Husker fans should be proud at the environment you create, it's an awesome thing. I think it sure made a HUGE difference tongiht. Best of luck the rest of the year. Classy program and the best board to visit.

I don't think its an insult to anyone to say I wish Nebraska still ran the old I. I for one happened to like it, you won a BUNCH, and did it for a long time. Solich was no Tom Osborne, but lets see... 9-4 12-1 10-2 11-2 7-7 10-3 I am just saying Nebraska had one of the greatest legacies of all time and it had a lot to do with The I formation, the option, ball control and great defense. I am not sure why pointing out that this strategy was a good one means I "need to act like I have been there before". That style had you in a National title game, with a team I think most would agree was not anywhere near the top for Nebraska quality wise, as recently as 2001/2002 season. I liked that kind of football, as a Kansas fan I had free time on most New Year's days... Watching Tommy Frazier running down the field laughing against Florida was pretty sweet. Anyway, your board has a lot of class. I am a Kansas season ticket holder and you all bring the most fans and are great to have. A few jerks slashed some tires, but most Kansas fans do not treat their guests that way. No fights in the crowd, very little taunting, etc. I have been going to the games in Lawrence for 25 years now, so I have seen how fans can act (Oklahoma and Missouri come to mind). Well, it was good to have a day in the sun, being a Kansas football die hard is rough work. Thick and thin, though. As for the post that suggested I think we gave the 93' game, no way. I am saying we had class for not putting a tie up. Most coaches and schools in that situation, having been whipped for over 2 decades at the time, would take a tie. We were either gonna win or you were gonna go on unblemished. I like to think I can recognize class in all directions. Sorry someone hurt some property, every group has some jerks. I am sure Nebraska will be back, and thanks for the fine treatment on your board!

We should never had let Mason leave, and you should not be running the west coast offense because it is a travesty of football history.

I kinda don't like BC either. I miss the I formation, huge horselike men smashing forth while the option is run, etc. Its not like the offense did not work anymore, you all were in the national title game not so long ago with Crouch, and that team was not that great overall by Husker standards.

Guys, you beat KU 14-8 last year in Lincoln. Not like you exactly ran them off the field. KU had no offense, that was their issue, but in the Colorado game our current QB came back and has done a serviceable job. Now we sorta have some offense... But our defense is as good as any, maybe you missed how we have beaten Brad smith 3 years runnning and held him to 179 yard Passing AND running the week after you all gave up 480 to him. We do have a defense. You could not run on us (22 yards...), could not pass, and because you got only 7 first downs, your defense wore down and the floodgates eventually opened. Our offense had a hard time with your defense as well, but they managed to get a few more first downs and that was the difference. FOr the first quarter and a half, you guys could not do anything on offense. We deserve some love from the Huskers anyway. What about in 1993 when a mediocre KU team could have kicked an extra point and tied undefeated Nebraska? but our coach did not want to ruin your perfect record with a tie, so we went for 2, missed, and you all got to go to the national championship game. Auburn woulda played for the title had we hung a tie on you, and with the streak of losses we have had, it would have been easy to see why we would take a tie. I think you all should credit our defense a little and throw us a bone. We have suffered enough. Best of luck to you finishing out...
