  1. I don't care about the seed, it's just getting the opportunity.  Quite frankly I would embrace the challenge against a CBB blue blood like Kentucky.  Nebraska basketball doesn't get opportunities like that often.  Can you imagine if Keisei got hot in front of a national audience for that game?  Pandemonium around the country and good vibes for Nebrasketball.

    RIP college football

Yeah I wonder if this to further decide the haves and have nots within the two conferences as well.  Nebraska better start winning in football and make the tournament in basketball.  Volleyball is a helpful bonus.

I think you’re spot on. The difference between the BIG and PAC 12 is that every conference team you play has the talent to beat you. It’s a lot harder grind then what they’re used to

Yep, it's depth and big lineman as part of that.  No 275 lb. Pac-12 DL is going to cut it.  Teams get beat up in league play in the Big Ten and SEC.  We talk about Frost and Bo but I remember the chatter when Penn State joined they were going to dominate as well.  None of it happened.  I would say Oregon is the best prepared of the 4 but there will be some rough spots.  I see Oregon losing in Madison, Wisconsin in November because of the grind.  USC will have some difficulties even with the talent they have and Washington, UCLA will be rebuilding years for sure.

For a team without a true point guard and no real 5 in the paint to command the boards, Fred has gotten the most out of this team. From what I remember of Fred at Iowa St he didn't use a true 5 there either. Playing on the road against a team with decent bigs and a veteran point guard is the recipe for disaster. They are what they are. If we can hold our home court and somehow manage a road win or two we should see the NCAA tourney. If we get the NIT then maybe we get the home court advantage for a few games. That might not be bad.

Keisei Tominaga not getting the NCAA stage in his time here would make me sad.  I don't care if it's the play-in game in Dayton.  It would be an opportunity.  That also begs the question, if the 'Huskers would win the play-in game, would that count as an NCAA win and the P5 outpost without a NCAA tourney win would be no more?

I could see this.  There were rumors before.  Texas A&M hasn't been much of a winner in the Big XII or SEC.  Hello 1998 and Sirr Parker!  It would make less sense for FSU though without a southeast travel partner like Miami.  I'm sure Mizzou would jump at the chance as a better cultural fit but would the Big Ten want them along with A&M?

Don't care for him or michigan.   He got away with cheating, with a minor slap on the wrist.   Won a championship and is now running away because more punishment is due.   Screw that guy and their 1997 2nd place team.

It didn't seem to hurt Pete Carroll much.

After finally building up Michigan and overtaking the resident evil, Ohio State, he won a Natty and if I was in his shoes I would go to LA too.  Now is the time.

It sucks for our conference and college football fanatics, haters and weirdos, but I am sad to see him go.

    I wish him the best.

He beat Ohio State 3 years in a row.  He got to the playoffs.  He won a National Championship.  He got punched in the belly and slapped in the face, by getting suspended.  He had sports people tarnishing his success, and running him down like the Tabloids.  And his team loved him.  And he won.

Now go win the division (I love Herbert with the Chargers), do some drafting, lead the way, build a winner, and get to the Super Bowl.  If he gets to the Super Bowl in 3-5 years, what else are you going to say.  He's been there before already.

I am excited for Jim Harbaugh vs. Sean Payton.  It's going to be the Petty Bowl twice a season and great theater from two good coaches.

  8. Rutgers is a great opportunity to beat a Big Ten team on the road.  Need a few of those to enhance tourney prospects.  Do people think Dirk Chatelain is correct and 22 wins is the finish line to get there?

We will see if Reggie is doing the 14+ hour days that Nick was doing at age 72.  Until then he should just keep his mouth shut.

  10. I can't believe it is a debate for anyone anymore.  Nick Saban is the greatest coach in college football history.  It's incredibly difficult to win a national title and he has 7 of them.  How many consecutive classes at Alabama could say they won a national title in their 4 or 5 year stint at the school?  It's a ridiculous number.  Even the Bear Bryant diehards have said he's #2 behind Nick.  We won't know how many T.O. might have had if he coached to age 72 but consistent excellent for a lot of years is part of the evaluation.  Nick is #1

The Big 10 has had an eye out for NC and Virginia I believe. If Clemson and FSU join the SEC, I could definitely see the Big 10 going after NC and ND. Honestly, I could see them going after Clemson and FSU:dunno

Clemson screams SEC culture to me.  Florida State and Miami makes more sense.  I remember Jim Delany was kicking the tires on UNC and UVA was rumored.

I dont think he's a QB. I've never thought he was a QB. In the spring I commented on him potentially being a Wildcat guy because Satterfield and Rhule have a past history of doing that. In reality, it was also because I just didn't think he should be an every down QB.

I like him a lot. Great person, great competitor and a good athlete. I think he's a guy that can help the team elsewhere and maybe if he doesn't do it via switching positions it could still be as a Wildcat. The rumored incoming QB options aren't exactly mobile. Haarberg can put his head down in tough situations to get yards and throws a decent deep ball when they cheat on that.

Well I'm a longtime Saints fan and Taysom Hill has been very effective in New Orleans.  Especially under Sean Payton who is a much better coach than Dennis Allen but I digress.  Heinrich as Lincoln's Taysom Hill I could get excited about.  Tanner Mangum was the guy that 'Husker fans would cringe a bit about.

Or if Ganz had one more year of eligibility in 2009.  NC, imo.  Or playing for it.

Probably still would have lost to Texas Tech.  Mike Leach owned Bo Pelini.  However, they wouldn't have lost dumb games to ISU with 8 turnovers.  11-1 would be in contention.

Eight has been my preference for years.  And it's about as clean as you can get this year.  Five conference champions plus the three most-deserving runner-ups.

    #1 Michigan v #8 Oregon

    #4 Alabama v #5 Florida State

    #3 Texas v #6 Georgia

    #2 Washington v #7 Ohio State

I think they went 12 so the Group of 5 gets an opportunity to possibly prevent legal issues.

Ohhhhhhkaaaay? Not sure I understand the point here. USU QB fumbled the snap, picked it up and willed himself into the endzone to become bowl eligible.

QAnon slogan guy.  All I am saying is he was more lucky than good with where the football went after the fumble.  Doing it against a bad Lobos team helps.
