you could see 1 OOC game and rest conference honestly, or a type of spring game vs a smaller school etc. Once these conferences to to the 20-24 range they won't need the NCAA anymore and you could argue they already don't.

I'm going to guess coaches will still advocate for them as 3 tomato cans is easier to make a bowl and less risk of getting fired.  If it does become two conferences controlling everything, Big Ten and SEC, I would think they would both be comfortable playing 9.  Could someone sell the SEC on playing 10?  I don't know.

One things for sure: Nebraska is not the NIL wimp a lot of people on here proclaimed it as. NIL/facility combo is huge. I can only imagine what we could pump out if we weren’t building a giant sports complex at the moment.

Wholeheartedly agree.  NIL is a big benefit to Nebraska's deep pockets as an advantage.  I hope more Nebraska fans embrace the change because it will help the school get back to winning.  A lot of player payments happened prior across the CFB landscape it just wasn't legal.

    That's why I don't like it either.

Pretty difficult to do if you get down to a week before the game and everything is set up for the game such as tickets sold, stadium reserved, TV slot reserved....etc.

Money is too great to eliminate it but I would do away with the conference title game right away and expand the Playoff to 12 teams.

What are the chances that everyone else drops to 8 conference games, so the SEC drops to 7 to maintain their competitive advantage??

I think it's more likely they would play more cupcakes and tomato cans in the non-conference season.    4 games against Prairie View A&M, Georgia State, Incarnate Word, and North Alabama.

I do not think that it is unreasonable for a billion dollar company to pass on some savings to the consumer that keeps them afloat.

Look at what Rob Manfred and the MLB owners are doing.  IMO it's naïveté to think a business cares much about the consumer and altruism in general.  It's about maximizing revenue and not being concerned about running over anyone that gets in the way.

I know there is this weird idea that cutting sports is horrible but first off, no one cares about lame sports and also, soooooo many parents would be f#&%ing thrilled to not have to come up with an excuse to not have to watch their f#&%ing kid do rifling...

There are more people that like "lame sports" than you think.  Trust me, if it worked that way to get rid of "lame" stuff, Luke "Gomer Pyle" Bryan would be off the radio and I wouldn't have to listen to his awful voice and terrible music again.

Maybe some of the BIG schools that cut their programs can think about bringing them back...I know MN cut the track program, Iowa cut mens swimming (after 100+ years), etc... Just another way to look at it...and when this is all out there and schools continue to say they are in a budget crisis, it is a bad look to cut the non core sports.

Pressure Wisconsin to bring back their baseball program.

I'm sorry, did I miss your :sarcasm emoji?

Seriously??? In what world, outside of SEC hypothesis would anyone think 4 is ok? There exists as of now 5 power conferences so if each of them get 2 each that allows 2 non-power 5 selections.. in the real world at most we'll only ever have 1 of the non-power 5 leaving 1 other at large which most likely and in most years will be Notre Dame. (deserving or not) ... So how can anyone out side of the narcissistic, bloviated SEC ever suggest 4? Very :lamepost indeed.

No, because if 4 teams of 12 are truly good enough to be included from any league, they should be part of the playoff.  I don't need the extra artificial gatekeeping.  In a 12-team league I have no problem with P5 champs being included plus the top G5 if it meets a basic Top 15 or 20 threshold.  The other 6 spots should be best available.

I agree with the exception of Budweiser.  All it does is give me a headache.  As long as I have an option outside of Bud and PBR I am happy.  It now has me curious if they sell Abita at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge?

It would be great if in addition to the standard domestics and imports that local breweries get a shot at a home game on a rotating basis.  One week is is predetermined for ZipLine, next is Scratchtown, then Kinkaider or Empyrean....

As a spectator at a baseball game, how do you not have a hotdog and cold beer? As a fan in the stands watching hoops, how do you not have nachos and a cold beer?

This type of enjoyment and atmosphere adds to the great game, which has been passed down over the years.

Wrestling?  Popcorn, peanuts, cold beer.  Softball?  Same, except nachos instead of popcorn, hotdog instead of nuts.  Cold beer on tap with carbonation bubbles flowing to the top of the cup.

Maybe football is a different emotional beast, and I get that.  But the option to partake in a Budweiser during a contest should be available.  That's just my take, my opinion.

Go Big Red, Gig'em, Roll Tide, 21st Century

Need to specify which part(s) of Carolina you're talking about. Eastern NC, Central/Western NC, and SC all have different styles.

Sure and another example is I left off the white sauce of Alabama as well but I was trying to keep it simple.

It's a stupid logo no matter what his hands are doing.

If they had redone the whole thing and not just the hand, nobody would have noticed or cared.

Nobody would have noticed or cared if someone hadn't pointed it out.  Fresh meat for pot stirrers and political trolls on Twitter I have found out.

If we're talking about politically incorrect college logos, Notre Dame's a cartoon of a drunken, violent lephrechaun.

As an Irishman,  I'd like to fight that stereotype.

But to be honest, I like to fight everything.

This Irish guy will help after eating fish and chips and having a stiff drink of whiskey

God I hate that the easily woke crowd let an internet troll make this a real thing.  So stupid.  I'm actually more offended that Herbie is now giving the #1 symbol now when that's pretty clearly not been the case for 25yrs.  Just false advertising.

He might have been talking about volleyball.  If so, he is probably correct.

It would actually be kinda cool, if each year Herbie had a different hand gesture.

    Your welcome Nebraska marketing.

The problem is the last few years it would likely be a middle finger to the fans.  Not good for the brand.

  16. This original post went as expected.   All the complainers: You never paid attention to his hands before, and most people wouldn’t even have noticed if someone didn’t point it out. You don’t truly care now. Find something else to do and leave the contrived faux anger and victimhood to the useless political pundits on the radio and TV.

  17. I'd rather play 8 conference games with no division and with two permanent protected rivals every year.  Iowa and another team depending on other protected rivals for Nebraska to go along with 1 ACC and 1 Pac-12 game.  Two other games, a G5 and FCS tuneup.  Michigan wouldn't be an option as they would have Ohio State and Michigan State as their protected rivals as an example.

Damn, there's some dense people in this thread. 48% of the geographic area of the Omaha-Council Bluffs Metropolitan Area is in Iowa, and 13% of the population is in Iowa.

Now class, who can tell me which one of those figures is actually relevant in this discussion? I'll give you a hint: do you think Mickey Joseph is recruiting people to play football, or do you think he's trying recruit a plot of land to pull itself up out of the earth and come play football for the University of Nebraska?

Yes, true, I thought that was a given it was about population. Maybe it's the same people who share memes about voting and others have to point out that fenceposts don't vote?

Nearly half of the official Omaha Metropolitan Area is in Iowa.

As with most things in life, I think we should draw the line at Council Bluffs.

I don't think the small city Omaha citizens derisively call "Counciltucky" is anywhere close to 1/2.
