Gotta say, I'm not too excited about these names...

  2. I am only speaking about what I have experienced in Douglas county Nebraska, not any other state laws.

In order to purchase any firearm in Nebraska you must have a firearms purchase certificate issued by the county sheriff. You have to fill out paperwork and they run a background check. Falsifying any info is a federal offense. The certificate is only valid for 3 years so a background check is ran somewhat frequently. No firearms dealer will sell you a gun without your firearms purchase certificate. I am a member of some Facebook firearms buy/sell/trade pages and everyone that is looking to make a sell or trade of their gun will make you present your firearms purchase permit before they will continue with the transaction. This is to reduce any liability that you are selling a gun to a felon or someone who the government wouldn't allow to obtain a certificate.

If you want to own a pistol in Douglas county it must be registered with the city. You take the paperwork to the Omaha city police, they then have you fill out paperwork, give fingerprints, and buy a registration permit. The permit has all of your info and the guns info on it.

This is all on top of the paperwork, fingerprints, and checks the firearms dealers must do also.

Then if you want a ccw that's a entire process in itself with having to pass a class and a very strict background check with the state troopers.

If you ask me, I had to jump through a lot of hoops just to obtain my handgun. I feel comfortable with all the checks that were done on me and everyone else who whats to own one. I don't feel that it is necessary to make the process any harder than it is.

Older guy here, and alum. My user name reflects the fact I first became a Husker fan sitting on my grandpa's knee, listening to Husker games in he early/mid 60s...and remember hearing folks saying thing that made me think they were happy to have a winning season. So I remember both sets of glory years...the two in the 70s and those in the 90s. But I became a "love it to the core, this team is, and always will be MY team with the deflected two point try in the 83 orange bowl. I was a big fan of the stability and longevity of the entire coaching staff in those days as much as I was of the actual team on the field. It was all part of one program.

As for Frost, I'll echo what a lot of folks have said already. It is good to see him get some experience at a place other than Nebraska. A young coach like him, if successful at his first gig, is going to be a hot commodity, and want to leverage that spotlight to "take a step up". I think it would be ideal for us to have Riley for another 3 years, maybe 4 (if he can pull it together and get back to having good seasons), then open the door for a successful Frost to return home. He'd have gotten the "hot shot new coach" recognition and might be less likely to bolt in 2 - 3 years if he does well at NU. Maybe then he'd have a chance to put together somewhat of a stable, long term team of coaches here as well.

One can hope. I'd take him if he shows well at UCF for the next few years.

That is an old guy's opinions.

FWIW...welcome to the board, and to the Big Red family young scholar.

You are missing the point Grandpa. If and probably when he is successful in florida. I seriously doubt he will becoming here, he will be getting better offers than us. Be realistic

and not a homer, why would he? Really why would he

I'm sure the pay will be on par if not more than any other offers that he gets.

If he thinks he can win a national championship at NU then he has a shot at being TO 2.0 in the since of being the most iconic figure in Nebraska.

He will be able to recruit here after having some roots in the west coast and in Florida.

  4. Even this article doesn't claim that Snapchat saves pictures on it's servers.

    I'm just not seeing it.

I should have read the article before posting. I was in a hurry earlier. I misspoke, from the articles that I just read they were saying that the pictures are retrievable from the phones. I guess I heard wrong. I don't use snapchat so I don't really know how it works.

It has to do with a little thing called snapchat and her not wanting to be considered a slut by her sorority sisters

Do you know what sorority she is in? Was she sending the snaps or was it someone else?

What does that mean? I'm not familiar with snapchat.

Snapchat is a video messaging application created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown,[3] when they were students at Stanford University .[4][5][6] Using the application, users can take photos, record videos, add text and drawings, and send them to a controlled list of recipients. These sent photographs and videos are known as "Snaps". Users set a time limit for how long recipients can view their Snaps (as of September 2015, the range is from 1 to 10 seconds),[7] after which Snapchat claims they will be deleted from the company's servers.

If the snapchat thing is true, then the girl most likely didn't like pictures/videos that were sent and made choices based on that.

Big word there is claims. I've heard that all of the pics sent are stored on their servers. I wish I could hack...
