What's the draw of FSU over Nebraska. It's flat and rural too. It appears neither Alabama nor Georgia wanted the area, so there must be something wrong with it.
The P5 conferences need to all get to 16 teams and form Division 1. The rest should be split into D-1A and have their own championship. D1 teams should only be allowed to play D1 teams. Each conference champion goes to an 8 team playoff with 3 at large teams.
You can't call a team Division 1 if they have zero shot at ever making the playoffs or winning a championship.
I have a problem with teams getting into the playoffs that don't play in the conference championship game. They get a bye week while the conference champ game players have 1 more game with injuries.- 1

These are not great but its the best I could come up with.
There is that youtube video: frosty the coach-man.
Something relating 97 to 17.

That is what I'd like to. But I fully understand the mentality of making $$$$ now and retiring at 50. Why work till you are 66 if you don't have to?
Maybe dabble as a public servant... a run for governor or congress!

Doesnt sound exactly like his dream job if he wouldn't meet the Tuesday deadline and still still tentative.
Nebraska still had a head coach on Tuesday. I think Frost has respect for Riley and the coaching fraternity to wait for the position to be open before engaging in serious talk.

Hey guys! I am a Scott Frost super fan. I have followed him since his days at Oregon. And I am now pretty positive that he is coming to Nebraska! I am really excited to see him as a P5 HC and for him to coach at his dream job! I am ready to become a Nebraska fan and ready to learn as much as I can about the team and the fanbase before September 1st, 2018!

I just still have this feeling it is unlikely at this point in time any sort of official or detailed contract has been spoken about or accepted by Frost. I do think he's fully invested in finishing the season at UCF and don't think these detailed offers or contracts get discussed until December.
There is a chapter in the book "The System" about Moos and him hiring Leach. He doesn't wait around to find his guy. If he is following that same blueprint, he is already speaking with our new coach's representatives and likely close to finalizing a deal. After the Iowa game it be bang bang with the fire - hire.

It all depends on who the coach is and who the holdovers are, etc. but just for fun I’m curious what the pulse is for who we think will stay committed after a coaching change.

good thing I bought 6 tickets for nearly $200 a pop in the summer. Doh!
I bought 6 tickets for nearly $200 a pop in the late summer also, but for the Wisconsin game. Waste of money and never doing that again.
This week, the people I work with are giving away their tickets to anyone who will take them.

With the schedule next year, a new AD, and the fact we are still paying Bo I think HCMR is here next year. Expectations will be play in Indy in a competitive game or its over.

Honest question:
Say we have a top 15 recruiting class heading into Iowa game. Say we go 7-5.
Are you:
A) Canning Riley
B) Waiting to can Riley until after NSD
C) Giving him another year
D) Convincing him to retire with a buyout before Spring Ball.
If we have a talented class, we must find a way to get them here.
C.

Call me crazy but we could give HCMR another year or two to see how things play out - especially if they can consistently win and pull off some upsets this year. He has been bringing in better and better classes and this class could be one of the best in a long time.

QuoteWe here at Corn Nation are sad to pass along the news that our friend Brian Towle has passed away. We are at a loss for words. He was a warm and friendly guy, who loved sports almost as much as he loved his family. We are absolutely devastated for Brian’s family, especially his wife Kelly, his son Brock, and his daughter Emerson. Please, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Why do we care how much a coach is paid? Its not our money. I say go balls deep and spend our way to a championship.

Defense isn't the problem its the offense.

We needed that so bad!
Which recruits might now reconsider Nebraska?

It is simply a bold prediction.
There are some dots that I've tried to connect. Bookie and Frost have been in the same part of the country for the past year and Bookie has an offer from UCF - so they know each other. Nate Clouse was on 1620 a couple weeks ago saying that a "big get" recruit who has offers from both NU and UCF was DM'ing with him asking if he thought Frost would be the next HC and that the recruit would be real excited if that happens. There are a few recruits that have offers from both schools but Bookie is the only "big get" IMO. Its all wishful thinking.
