  1. Because if they are receiving all the public services for free, and get to do business for free, yet wield political influence, then they're on the dole, as in billions worth every year. I'm sorry if the concept is too complicated for you.
  2. I think POB played a lot of baseball in his younger days before focusing on football. Most baseball players/pitchers follow through with their back foot after throwing the ball. It's probably just a holdover from playing baseball. Wouldn't the QB Whisperer Langs get him to change that already, or you think he's ok with it? It's just him following through. If it helps POB get his legs into his throws, it's not a huge deal. Okie dokie, then. I just hadn't seen the motion so pronounced before in a QB.
  3. He was 4th team with POB and behind a couple walk ons that saw reps much earlier on.How'd he look? Well, I guess if he's b/u to walk-ons, that pretty much tells the story. The feed cut right as he got in. I too drew the same conclusion, though based on who played before him. Did Ozigbo get some reps? Sounds like Newby and Wilbon stole the show.He appears to be the most complete running back of the 3. I felt he earned the starting job for his performance in the UCLA game. Ground and pound, baby. I think Newby is making his case for starter. He ran with purpose out there and I already know he's a good blocker and smart player. Let's not forget that Newby weighs 200+ lbs as well so he's not going to be a pushover. Regardless, both of them will get carries come fall. I was a Newby backer up until last year when he showed once and for all that he's soft, can't break a tackle, and therefore can't be any every down back. I doubt that will change much his final year. He's a niche back.

Yeah....we all know this....but do the people calling the plays? Seems like they figured it out during the UCLA game. However, I suspect Wilbon will have more to say on the matter.

  6. I think the world would be a better place if all heavy metal were banned from the planet. JMHO.
  7. I think POB looks fine, but he lifts his back foot/leg off the ground when he throws, which seems odd.
  8. Bolded, so true. Well, said "citizens" should be qualified for the job and represent their constituencies--preferably informed constituencies. But if the constituency is the Idiocracy, well, they are doomed.
  9. The problem with the American voter is he/she is often completely brainwashed by celebrity and fortune and generally maleducated about politics/geo politics, economics, hence any rich and famous person has an excellent chance of becoming a politician--Kim Kardashian, Oprah, Brett Favre, Katey Perry, Will Farrell, Kevin Hart, Beyonce, Hulk Hogan--what the hell, right? What's to know, how hard can it be? I mean, why should they have any experience at all, or have studied political science, or law, or international law, or American or world history or geo politics, right? It's only massive numbers of people's lives that are effected or at stake. Maybe they could have a reality show, call it, hmmmm, say, "Political Idol", and there could be auditions regionally around the country, and there could be judges, and.....
  10. I been saying this, well, since TA's been there. Play to his strengths, run, read option as much as possible, limit the crazy passes. The UCLA game appeared the coaches maybe finally figured it out that we should be a ground and pound team 1st, especially with a running QB. Anyway, hope the trend holds up.
  11. Did Bush complete any passes? I thought he or Fyfe was going to transfer last year. Guess not, eh?
  12. I think that most of the negative feelings were NOT due to the fact that he adheres to a particular religion. Rather, it was a combination of two things - first, that he embodied the success of his team and that success was harped on constantly by the media (similar to all successful teams - how often did we hear ESPN sing the praises of USC when it was winning big, or how often do we hear ESPN promote the SEC), and second, the fact that he constantly promoted his religion. So, the negative feelings are not due to what religion he follows - it's the fact that he promotes it as he does, combined with the media holding him up as a paragon of virtue. The latter may be true - I don't know the guy - but it's the kind of thing that tends to grate on the nerves of many people. It's real simple for me. The reason Tim Tebow is not qualified to be a congressman is the same reason he's not qualified to do surgery on my, or anyone else's, brain. He's not qualified. The guy isn't even that great at sports announcing. He should just open up a sports gear shop or something, you know, that he is familiar with, and live happily ever after. Or how about coaching kids at say, wait for it.....football?
  13. Ok, fans of politics and religion, let me begin this discussion with the assumption that Gawd* does, in fact, exist. As an agnostic**, I know, I know, it's a stretch, and stay with me oh ye' fans of Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and the late, great Chris Hitchens(R.I.P.), but I assume the existence of Gawd since so many millions and billions of the human family swear He/She does exist and I can't make my argument w/o such admission. You know, during this campaign season, so much back and forth about taxes and the efficacy thereof and then there's the renewed topic of so-called "religious freedom", you know, that's where religious people can be free to hate whomever their respective holy books say they are allowed to hate, e.g., gays, infidels, goyim, adulterous women, dark skinned people, etc. Well, I think religious people should be allowed the freedom to hate in any way they feel comfortable about and I also think they should be free to accept the blowback/social consequences thereof. But what I really want to talk about here is the fact that all the various holy rollers and their Gawds somehow feel their freedom includes living off the dole of society at large. Yeah, you know what I'm talking about: the free ride, free lunch, that is, the avoidance of all tax responsibility to the communities and society at large that serves them so faithfully: Gawd should stop livin' off the dadgum dole, rrrrgh! Check it out, kind reader. All your dadgum religious institutions basically pay zip in taxes to anyone, anywhere. No property tax, no income tax, no tax on any investments, no tax on any donations, basically no tax at all, save maybe some sales tax on the grape juice and crackers or marshmellow jello and finger sandwiches and Koolaid they offer up on the cheap every other Sunday or so. A the same time, the community provides the normal public services availed to any business or institution--utilities, fire services, public schools for much of their congregations, police protection, etc. You know, there's the ongoing vicious attack on the poor receiving the meager social services availed to them so as they not starve and be homeless in the capitalistic socioeconomic order, the constant call for hungry children to exhibit more "market discipline" while corporate welfare abounds. But you never hear a blip about Gawd and his innumerable "houses" living of the same dole, or worse. I mean, how much property do these holy rollers own? They say the Catholic Church is one of the biggest land/property holders in the world, pays zip in property taxes, yet the Pope and all his robe clad buddies live around some of the most opulent material wealth on the planet. We can extrapolate this phenomenon to the millions of other churches, synagogues, mosques, ashrams, monasteries, summer youth camps, big box Bible beating arenas, or religious based schools like Yale and Harvard. Yale, was founded by wealthy land/slave owning clergy and businessmen as a school to train clergymen and part of the deal was they would never pay property or income tax. Well, a couple hundred years later and Yale is the biggest property owner in New Haven and to this day have yet to pay 1 penny in property tax, yet are a massive burden on the local tax payers and public services provided thereof, in part, causing New Haven to be one of the newly poorest cities in the country--except for Yale. Why is Gawd so dadgum cheap?! I thought Gawd made everything and therefore, at least tacitly, owns everything, which means Gawd owns money, and if He/She owns money, why the heck can't Gawd and His/Her followers pitch in and carry their significant weight in relation to the rest of society--especially to those of us who don't particularly believe in Him/Her? This is a call to more religious freedom! That is, more freedom for the religious to pitch into the tax pool and stop being subsidized by everybody else! I mean, what does Gawd and all His followers give to the rest of us other than some useless, imaginary thoughts called prayers, or some crazy, illogical, fantastical, fairy tale books and stories to read? And the aforementioned prejudice at every turn. Seriously, I, for one, am sick and tired of giving Gawd and His Peeps a free ride. And since when has Gawd ever protected anybody? Like, never, just ask the Charleston 9, oh wait, they aren't here to talk about it. Jeebus, we could probably pay off the national debt, or pay for lots of cool stuff, like free college tuition for all, health care for all, with all the revenue generated if we just taxed Gawd like everybody else. But no, Gawd and His holy rollers want their religious freedom to hate gays or women wanting choices and stuff, while gays and women have to help pay for their free ride. So, when all you holy roller, "goodly" Christian(or otherwise) "souls" out there start griping about this and that "entitlement", and "why is the golldang gub'ment stealin' from me?", yada yada yada, all I can say is, "speak to the Hand", the Hand of Gawd, that is, and tell that Hand to stop taking a hand out and start payin' His/Her fair share to the rest of his so-called creation. Tell your Gawd to stop livin' off the dadgum dole! (*Gawd: Mur'can Deep South pronunciation of the term, "God", the alleged all creative, all knowing, all powerful Being of the Universe) (**Agnostic: an honest person that neither believes or disbelieves in the existence of Gawd, since the latter has never been unequivocally shown to either exist or not exist. An agnostic admits to not knowing.)
  14. You know, why don't these famous pricks humble themselves a bit, and if they wanna get into politics, start out @, say, school board or city council, you know, ground up, start small, get some experience? JMO.
  15. Tim Tebow(IQ ~110) sez: "Jaheezus is gonna make Mur'ca great agin'!" Oh wait, Jaheezus was a socialist...
  16. I fixed my monicker, I'm sure it was an honest mistake on your part, Mr. Sharky Shark. Actually, the working class built this country and every other country, the entrepreneur(s) just live off their backs, take and profit off the spoils--as per capitalistic convention. If the so-called Mur'can Dream were actually based off of hard work, then African Americans would own most the damn country, namely, the South--feel me? As to taxes, well, if you don't want any public services, like, you know, public schools(like UNL, for e.g.), roads, hiways, po po, fire dpt, water, sewer, advanced industries, etc etc, oh, and the socialist military, Gawd knows Mur'cans worship themselves some military and their pensions, the bigger the better--and guys like cm actually got some edumacation outta the military/gov't--then sure, don't pay taxes. Just means you will get a bill from private co.s thereof, each month for said services, and damn, me thinks that's going to cost you a helluva lot more to do it that way. Is this too complex for you? Well, you evidently are another smug member of the entrepreneurial class, so one wouldn't expect you to understand such simple concepts of how things actually work. Keep trying though, and thanks for sharing, honest, I appreciate it.

Did Ozigbo get some reps? Sounds like Newby and Wilbon stole the show.Ozigbo got plenty of reps with the #1 offense. Wilbon did make some plays when he was in there. It was tough to tell how good some guys did because of the defense they might have been going against. A'ight
  19. The 46 was based on scoring system that awarded defensive plays. Huh? It was offense against defense. The defense scored by accomplishing various things, like 3 and outs and collecting turnovers. The defense won (actually on that last pick thrown by POB). So they gave the D points for doing those things? I guess it's the "participation" ethos bleeding thru the college game, hmm, weird, and whatev.... Did everyone get a blue ribbon @ game's end? lolwut. It's a practice. I think this should translate into real games, like when we play Oregon, if we, for e.g, get a 3 and out, we get 6 points and the ball. Ok, maybe 3 and out is too much to ask, how about a 6 and out? Tackle for loss is 3 points for us. INT is 7 points and you don't even have to run it back to the endzone, just down it. I like these new rules.
  20. I have no idea as re: Bernie's tax return, but he apparently has a good acc'tant. More concerned that co.s like Verizon pay effectively 0 in taxes.
