He's an amazing kid, a born leader, friends with every type of kid and a over 4.0 GPA kid that scored super high on the ACT.

The flat earth thing is a running joke around Burke right now.

He committed to Notre Dame for the relationships and networking after college because he is aware the chances of making it pro are low and wanted to set himself up for the rest of his life.  Not because of what brand of uniform they wear.  He doesn't care about those type of things.

You guys don't know the kid.  This was a miss, no doubt about it.

    Wow someone got real defensive.

If he wants to go I'll wish him well.  I wouldn't blame him.  Frost clearly favors his guys and jd isnt going to be a focal point of the offense as we saw from this year.  I would just prefer he went somewhere else besides a team on the schedule next year.

    Wtf are you on about?

Gotta know what happened in the hour time frame all of his crystal balls flipped. What could Wisconsin possibly tell him in the very literal final hour that he didn't already know?

Supposedly the staff told him on their visit that with limited space we couldn't wait any longer on him. So rather than being strung out and missing like Riley and Pelini would let happen, they're telling him they want him but he has to commit now if he wants Nebraska too.

Not from UNL, but yes.  Why does that upset you?  You realize your stink comes across as a little penis envy.  Your argument that Martinez could not gain 30 pounds of lean muscle in one year was academically wrong.  You are talking about a subject matter you are not an expert on.  And now you want to double down with insults.  You are immature.

You're right.  Eating as much as they put on the trays was easy.  I'm sure the body wasn't absorbing it all.  But in those days you forced yourself to eat, drink, and sleep on a schedule.  Practices were very hot during three a days and you were training full time.  I dropped a lot of water weight, too, and I know what it is like to suck down a gallon of water between practices on the orders of the A-T.  I know what kidney stones are like from over training, too, and drinking water when its hard to swallow anymore is far better option.  You push the envelope if you want to win.

Coming from the guy who had to spend 5 years in college to learn about the wonders of sleep. You're not as smart as you think you are.

Wow, so much piss and vinegar.  You really show how little you know with these comments.  Training table after practice was targeted at 2,500 calories alone.  I guess our team nutritionists did it wrong, too.  I arrived on campus every day at 7 AM and film kept me there until around 9 PM.  We had one scheduled lift session every day where the trainers set the lifts.  If you wanted to specialize on anything then you went back.  That's the difference between chumps and champs, put in the time or shut up.  Sure sounds like what Frost is trying to restore.

Oh so now you're a former player. Awesome

Considering this was in my discipline field, you're wrong.  I did underwater weighing and went from 8% to 7% with the gain.  I don't know where you got your training, but I know where five years of undergraduate work went for myself.  Maybe you didn't consider I'm a rather large person compared to the average Joe.  25 pounds for me isn't as substantial as compared to the average 5'7" male weighing 160 pounds.

You do not arbitrarily gain 25 lbs in good weight without changing your diet. That's basic fitness triangle stuff.

There was a game on tv where frost starring chewing him out because he wouldn't take off running.

Lots of examples,  just cause you cant remember them doesnt mean i have to go find video for you

That's more when he was scrambling on a pass. On an actual designed run he was fairly decisive but his cutting was slow as hell as well as his straight line speed. I do believe on the zone read vs Iowa where he was tackled for little to no gain that either Vedral or McCaffrey wouldve have had a way better chance at getting to the corner to get a better chance at making a decent gain

LOL Agree. My point went over your head.

The original comparison is ironic since he is quite literally the great college player that has "hung around town" (and visited a bar or two).

It's ok to withdraw when you don't understand a metaphor

I agree with Igetbored on this. I have never watched a game where announcers were so baffled and just utterly confused by the horrid playcalling, specifically the swing pass. I watch college football all day most Saturdays and I have never seen a game where this happened. It was like the announcers (along with majority of people watching) were trying to will Nebraska to NOT run that play again because it wasn't ever going to work, everyone realized it but the coaches somehow...unless they did too but still wanted to run a play they knew wasn't going to work. :bang

If Matt fricken Millen could figure it out...

That's irrelevant context when every team plays weaker opponents.  It's like saying McCaffrey didn't throw for a single touchdown against Iowa when you take away that one pass.

Also, to be clear, I dont expect chin to get fired, and will very happily eat crow next year if the defense finally becomes serviceable on a consistent basis under him, I'm just frustrated and as a 23 year old who's only ever seen this team be at it's best as a 10-4 team, I'm done believing hype and accepting moral victories until I see it happen

They went 11-2 last season, and are 10-2 and ranked #17 at the end of this season. I'll trust the consistent performance under a good coach over the last two seasons rather than your cherrypicked transitive property perspective.

This. It's not gonna be a cakewalk

Alright, so while we're cherry picking stats to support our arguement, Iowa had 225 yards rushing with a 7.3 average compared to their season average of 139.5 yards/game with a 4 yard average/run (which includes this last game. You could make the passing defense argument, but then I'll say Iowa didnt need to pass. Point is this game isn't as supportive of defensive improvement as it seems. The D made plays, but at the end of the day, the same basic mistakes happened again when it mattered most (not setting edge, not keeping leverage to prevent cutback lanes, giving receivers 50 yard cushions, not being creative in how to generate pressure when when what you've been doing hasnt been working)
