Our defense is playing well enough for us to win but our offense is sh**ty and that is putting it very politely. TA is playing for Iowa today.

Is TA playing for Iowa or Nebraska, sure looks like he is hell bent on having Iowa celebrate in our home. TA GET YOUR HEAD OUT OF YOUR ASS AND PLAY.

I said it before, we need TA to play smart and he has not and our coaches are inept.

If TA and the refs don't get in the way, we may have a chance. The refs spotted IOWA 30 yards.

I don't know why but I really have a good feeling about this one. I believe in our guys. I just wish I had more confidence in our clown coaches but I really believe that our guys will play their hearts out and will win this one.

I don't care what time the game is on as long as we beat those overrated birds. I have not been impressed with Iowa at all this season. They played smart football and barely beat some teams. They just clinched the west and the pressure is on them to win and make the playoffs. We have a number of seniors that want to make this season memorable and I bet they come out firing on all cylinders. I really like our chances this week. I just hope that the coaches don't get in the way and that banker the clown puts our defense in a position to make some plays. Armstrong needs to be smart with the ball and not give Iowa easy scores. If we play smart, we win this game at home and get invited to a decent bowl game. If not, it will be a very looooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong off season hoping that Riley has the BALLS to fire some of his assistants and hire some competent ones.

Of course we can beat Iowa if:

(1) Coaches don't get in the way and mismanage the game

(2) Armstrong plays smart and does not commit silly stupid turnovers

(3) We cut down on the penalties like we did with Rutgers, and

(4) Our defense plays decent enough

Iowa has played very smart mistake free football. They are not that good and most of their wins have been close. They have not played anyone good this year. Michigan State would have crushed them if they played them. We have better athletes and we can win if the four things I mentioned happen. I really have a good feeling about this one. It is at home and for a chance to go bowling without relying on luck. It also comes after a bye. You have to like our chances in this one.

The ignore function is meant mainly for the koolaid drinkers that do not want to face reality and hear the facts. Ignore away!

I would hardly call Jano underutilized. He's been a revelation under this staff after being completely neglected by the previous one.

 

Hayseed, I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility there were guys going through the motions while the pouted about Bo being gone that finally just said "eff it, this is what the situation is now, let's get behind Coach Riley and play some ball."

It is strange that you focused on Jano yet you ignored the main thing from my post and that is Ozigbo. I guess you have no answer but just wanted to attack the post anyway.

Why don't these coaches use Ozigbo? He seems like an unstoppable force running with the football. Honestly, I do not understand the decisions made by these coaches. It seems like we could have easily won at least four more games if we committed to the run and it seems like we have some guys that can run. Why is it that guys like Ozigbo and Jano are under utilized? Is there something I am missing?

I have absolutely ZERO trust in these coaches to go on a winning streak. Banker's knowledge in defense is as good as my wife's knowledge on defense...wait, I take that back, y wife would probably do a better job than Banker. If we win this game, it would be because our players leave everything on the field because they want to go bowling. I just hope that the coaches do not get in the way like they did in the previous losses.

I really hope that my beloved Huskers win out and go to a bowl. Winning the remaining two games including two top ten teams will salvage recruiting and bring hope back. However, if Mike Riley does not give his DC, OC, and special teams coaches the pink slip after this season and go out and get some REAL coaches, I doubt that next season would be any better. Remember that this past Saturday, the players won the game inspite of the coaches and not because of them!

We learned that we do have great talent on this team but we lack good coaches that can put the players in a position to win. I watched the game back four times (yes, four times) and it was very clear that the defensive players were left on an island looking at each other wondering what play was called. It is abundantly clear that banker's knowledge of defense is as good as my Japanese (by the way, the only Japanese words I know are Sushi and Sayonara). Langsdorf's inability to use Jano is simpply absurd. The guy is a STUD. Magic happens whenever he touches the ball. Just run the damn ball consistently. In my opinion, the players won that game in spite of the coaches and NOT BECAUSE of the coaches. They showed heart and played like their lives depended on it. On the other hand, our Mr. Nice Guy coach went on to admit that he was surprised that the referees did not call the touchdown back. In other words, it is as if he did not want to win. I respect these players but have absolutely no respect or trust in the coaches, especially, Banker the CLOWN.

Please give us Les Miles. I would take him in a heartbeat. LSU are a bunch of whiners. Let's trade LSU, Les Miles for Riley. I will even deliver him to LSU myself and will throw in banker and Eichorst for free.

I am still at a loss as to how STUPID our OC is. For the love of God, run the ball with Jano, Cross, and Wilbon. RUN THE DAMN BALL AND WE WILL WIN. When is he going to get this memo?!

Screw everyone who says the talent sucks. We won that in spite of coaching.

 

Can't agree more.. Screw everyone who says we do not have the players. Our coaches are the ones without talent or experience. Our players are studs. Riley, westerkamp, Jano, Moore, and so many more. You can't blame the players when the coaches can't put them in a position to win. With the right coaches, this team would be unbeaten this year. Unfortunately, we have clowns running the show. Our players are the ones who won this game. Definitely not the idiot banker.

Our guys are looking at each other trying to figure out what they are supposed to do. THAT IS COACHING. PERIOD.

We just need to retire the term blackshirts until we can actually get ONE f'ing IMPORTANT STOP. Dantonio just finished ripping Riley and company a new one. That is how you coach Riley, learn something for a real coach you fake

I have a really bad feeling about this one. I am sure dantonio will want to prove he belongs in top four and they will rip us a new one. Our coaches combined do not have one tenth the talent that the MSU coaches have. I really hope I am wrong and that my beloved Huskers pull this one out of the hat but everything points to us losing big.

We are not suddenly.....as in the first year Pelini is gone........void of talent after Pelini won 9+ games per year for 7 straight seasons.

 

Nate Gerry, for example, was being mentioned for all conference honors under Pelini......same with Maliek. Enter coach Riley.

 

Gerry and Collins didn't lose talent or forget how to play football.

 

Our administration has made some of the worst decisions in the history of college football. No other.....and I mean NO OTHER......football program has made the inept decisions that have been made at the University of Nebraska.

Florida, with the FIRST YEAR COACH just won their division with the same talent as last year's. Why wont the delusional fans admit that our administration and their piss poor choice of coaches has led to the disaster that is this year. Unfortunately, the worst is still to come.

Illinois is at Purdue and beating them like a drum 41-7 with about 11:44 to go in the fourth quarter.

 

Illinois rushing stats: 31 carries 324 yards, 10.5 per carry. Even the announcer commented that Illinois just keeps running the power stuff at them.

 

they didn't have a red-shirt freshman QB they could put in and ask him to throw it 50 times?

Obviously the Illinois coaching staff is much more talented and much smarter than the clowns running the show at Nebraska. That was also obvious by the fact that Illinois beat us. Mike Riley and company have no idea what it takes to coach a football team. After 40+ years of experience, they continue to be a below average coaching staff and that is not going to change. In fact, you can hand these clowns the New England Patriots and they will turn them into a losing franchise. It is not about the talent on the team. It is all about the mediocre coaching we have. Anyone who thinks differently is as delusional as Eichorst who thought that Mike Riley can turn things around.

I'm not concerned in the least about Riley dealing with 'distractions'.

Banker, is that you?! Why don't you get off this board and go get ready for MSU who are planning to rip you a new discharge hole. Wouldn't that be a better use of all the money you are robbing from Nebraska for watching college football from the best seats in the house.
