  1.

This administration has brought in the last three coaching staffs starting with firing FS. These academic clowns know nothing about athletics. I would guess that they get tired of athletics and the popularity the sports enjoy. Is it correct to say Nebraska Football has not been the same sense this hire. Why give this staff time to destroy the program. The manner by which this staff has lost games is mind blowing. Why would any 4-5 star athletes want to come to Nebraska and have this staff coach them down. Middle school coaches don't make the stupid mistakes these coaches are. How can you not listen to TO and other former coaches when you hire a head football coach. I have no trust this staff or administration can right the ship.[/quot

This guy hit the nail on the head. Pearlman and Eichorst don't care and have no knowledge of athletics. Their only goal is to make as much money as possibly they could give two $ts if we are winning or losing as long as the money keeps rolling in which it always will. If we want to win on the field as need to fire the administration and hire people in those positions with knowledge of athletics and wants to put winning teams out there. Any idiot could tell you that If you win on the field the money will come rolling in (except pearlman and Eichorst). Fire those two clowns and replace them with the right people and we will be relevant again.

I completely agree. Pearlman and Eichorst are the REAL CANCER here. During their tenure, both our academics and athletics have taken a dive into the abyss. When I attended UNL, the Engineering program was ranked among the top 75 programs in the nation. Now, we dropped from the top 100 and our athletics are just as miserable. The two things are linked and you simply can't separate athletics from academics. Look at Stanford, why did they insist on becoming a respectable football team. Simple, they are MUCH smarter than the two idiots we have (Pearlman and Eichorst). They realized that by becoming nationally know in FBS, they will improve their academics as well. That is also why Duke and Northwestern focused on improving their football teams. Why is it that everyone figured it out except the two morons we have. And they are paid BIG MONEY compared to some other schools. Enough is enough. If Pearlman, Eichorst, and Riley want to cash BIG FAT CHECKS then produce, or else get the hell out of Lincoln.

  2. To this day, I fail to see what Eichorst was thinking with this piss poor hire. Expecting a 0.500 coaching staff to win games is like expecting a Kia Spectra to beat a Mustang in a race. Lets face it, Mike Riley and his staff will not turn things around. When we finish 3-9 or 4-8 this season, it will be impossible to attract good recruits. We are a bottom tier team in the West division. That says it all. I don't trust this team to beat Wyoming right now. Why not fire a coach that is getting a big fat check if he can't produce on the field. Isn't that why he is being paid the big bucks. Obviously he has no idea how to coach this team to win games. When Nortwestern went up 30 to 28 and got the ball with 4:27 left, they were able to bleed the clock and finish. Something that Riley and Company could not do all season. So, why should we keep these clowns another year. Heck, if they had any decency, they would pack up and leave and let someone else try and restore Husker pride which is all but gone at this point.Opposing QBs come to Lincoln to make a name for themselves. Home field advantage means absolutley nothing. So, lets keep Mike Riley three more years because he is doing a wonderful job so far. He should be so proud of all his accomplishements this season.

  3. We've got:

    Purdue - maybe

    MSU - lolno

    Rutgers - maybe

    Iowa - nope

    We ain't going bowling.

I say we go 4-8 at best if not 3-9. This coaching staff are waaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyy over their heads. They have no mojo. At this point, they are just robbing the state of Nebraska blind by cashing fat checks and destroying what is left of Husker pride. How low have we fallen! It is depressing that we have become insignificant and simply irrelevant.

  4. Whats jobs will be open:

    Miami

    Arkansas

    USC

    KSU-Snyder will retire or should

    Auburn-maybe

    Va Tech

Don't think all these will be open, but certainly could.

This is why I think Bieliema could be a good choice. Everyone wants the old Nebraska teams back.....pound the rock system. That is what Bieliema is and knows.

He is not a SEC coach. He isn't winning enough for that school and the demands.

SExy job is USC. That will be the top job open. Sorry, even if we fire Riles, were not the front runner job on that list. Honestly other than KSu, and Va Tech, all the rest would get better hires, in my opinion. Recruiting is easier to Miami, USC and more than likely Ark and Auburn. I can put us with Arkansas, but not Auburn and the other two.

Are you kidding me, I would rather put my member in the meat grinder than get that fat pig as our coach.

  5. I learned that Mr. Nice Guy and his inexperienced coaches are robbing the state of Nebrasak blind by cashing fat checks and putting a piss poor product on the field. I do not blame the players, they are not the ones that are getting fat checks to lose games and embarrass our proud tradition. Also, I learned that if we want to restore pride, we need to put Eichorist, the UNL chancellor, Mike Riley, and his horrible coaches in a bus and send them to Kansas, where they belong.

  6. When are we going to admit that this coaching staff is below average at best and they will NEVER get it right here at Nebraska. These coaches are meant for division II football (FCS or whatever) and not a power 5 conference. Expecting an old dog to learn new tricks is impossible so why are we surprised at the outcome. At this point, this experiment is a failed one and the sooner we end it, the better chances we have of reduced heartache risk by fans. Northwestern did absolutely NOTHING to win this game and we simply bent over (like usual) and giftwrapped it for them. We had so many chances to get a good lead and the coaches made the wrong decisions. This will not change. I will be surprised if we actually make it to a bowl game this season. I would not be surprised if we lose to Purdue next week. Their QB is 10 times better than the one we faced today.

  7. I giggled a little when I read this:

You sit there and bash Kirk Ferentz. You scoff at Minnesota. You laugh at Illinois.

Right now, you’d trade places with any of those teams in a heartbeat.

Iowa, Minnesota, Illinois fans, have endured what we're just now experiencing, for years now. Yet, I'm pretty sure they weren't whining about it on the level we are, calling for mid-season firing, etc. We would have kicked Ferentz out, YEARS ago.

    s

Minn, Iowa, and Illinois are not fifth all time in wins and never will be. We are so we need to act like it and stop giving excuses to piss poor performances.

  8. We lose big because losing became normal for these players and apparently AD things we are in a good place right now. I do not see the urgency to win...plus Minn held their ground against TCU. We would not last 10 seconds with TCU. if we played TCU this week, they will hang 150 points on us with our pass defense. I really hope we win because I am really tired of seeing my beloved Huskers lose but everything points to us finding a stupid way to lose the game.

  9. Richt is a class act and an ace recruiter. Knows what it takes to compete against elite SEC talent. Not to mention he's a Nebraska boy. Might be looking for a change to get out of the grind of the SEC.

Like him or not, Tressel has proven himself as a top coach and recruiter as well. He's won a national title. And he's available.

I'm fine w/ Chip Kelly as well. We need someone BIG TIME to attract attention and get this team turned around.

If you want another scrub, fine. You'll get the same results.

I completely agree, Mark Richt understands the Nebraska tradition. Tressel knows what it takes to win in the BIG Ten regardless of the past, and chip Kelly will soon leave the pros just like Saban and will be looking for a college job. If we pass on these then we will never see the light...our current coach will never be anything but a 500 type of guy. That is who he is and that is how he will retire. Expecting Riley to win championships is like expecting a lamb to beat a lion.

  10. I am getting really tired of those who say that we need to settle for this kind of performance and accept the fact that our time of dominance is gone. I am a true Huskers and I believe that a team that is the fifth all time in wins in the nation should have the pride to try harder to regain their spot among the elite. Michigan, Norte dame, have done it, why not us. The difference is that our AD is an ignorant azz that does not understand our tradition and went out there and hired the first nice guy he found instead of doing the right thing and taking his time to find the best out there. We do not have professional teams in the state and our Huskers are our pride. Seeing this piss poor performance week in, week out is not acceptable and whoever thinks that expecting more from your team, your coaches, and your AD is not being a true fan, then shame on you.

  11. I absolutely hate when people label other people as non fans simply for stating their honest opinion. I have always been a Husker Fan since the day I was born. I also went to UNL for my BS, MS, and PhD degrees in the 90s when we were a power to be reckoned. I remember blowing out teams like Michigan State 56 to 14. What we have now is a complete disaster and anyone who sees a positive with our current situation is simply blind.

I also do not agree with what people say about not being able to recruit or get an excellent caliber coach to come to Nebraska. That is complete and utter Bullcrap. If Boise State can recruit and win consistently, why can't we? Have you ever been to Boise State? Lincoln is HEAVEN compared to that village. No offense Boise State. There are so many teams that have surpassed us and we are spending our money on coaches that have proven to be losers. Eichorst did not do his homework. He just went and hired the first nice guy he knows. If he actually did his job, we would have not been 2-4. What is sad is that the state of Nebraska is paying incompetent people like Riley, Eichorst, and the LOSER PERLMAN big fat checks to bring our beloved University to the ground. we have fallen in academics and athletics. A good coach finds a way to win. Look at our volleyball team. We have been relevant ever since I can remember. We might not be winning championships every year but we are definitely a team that everyone fears. Our football team is a team that everyone looks forward to playing so they can break records.

I love my huskers and I will ALWAYS be a husker fan but I simply refuse to fool myself by saying that what is happening is right and that we need to give this horrible excuse for a coaching staff five years to see what they can do. Harbaugh took a mediocre Michigan team and turned them into a killing machine in six months. Riley took decent talent and made them into the laughing stock of college football. The sooner Eichorst admits he is a FIRST CLASS IDIOT, the sooner this nightmare will be over.

  12. If Riley and his coaches had any decency, they should return every penny they got from the state of Nebraska and pack their bags and leave so someone who knows how to coach gets a chance. By the way, Riley should also take his friend Eichorst and our inept University President with him. Ever since Pearlman took over, our university has been in a free fall. We are no longer relevant in academics or athletics. Good job Perlman. You should be proud of that big check you get you loser.

  13. At this point, there's no justification for this staff any longer. There's no argument that can be made when we just experience incompetence on both sides of the ball in our sixth game into the season. People should be storming Eichorst's office with torches and pitchforks and demanding changes from this staff, immediately.

Langsdorf has proven himself inept at playcalling for the second game in a row, as well as managing our RB stable.

Banker's defense has only looked merely competent the past two games because of who we played and/or weather elements, and not because of any real improvement by the kids or the staff. Our DBs can't find the ball and have regressed from last year. The only thing that improved was last minute clock management, which really wasn't a win considering our offense couldn't make a first down to save themselves when it really mattered.

And before some idiot trots out the 'bad luck/last second' scenario, I've stated elsewhere that this sentiment is should be b******t for anyone that followed the team during the Dr. Tom era, as he himself said that the team needs to play well enough to where a single play, officiating call, or event can take the game out of your hands. Our teams have had four last minute losses, but they were ALL because of the ineptitude on the part of the coaching staff during the 59:00 preceding.

There is NO improvement from game to game from this staff, which completely undermines any argument that suggests this staff needs time. If anything, the more time this staff has, it's only going to turn into more opportunities to piss away games that they should have handily won.

So sunshine pumpers, kool-aid drinkers, you can keep saying Riley needs multiple years, but understand all you're doing is setting the program back with that line of thought, when this kind of ineptitude demands immediate and decisive action on the part of the University leadership. There's little to build on, little redeeming with this team and program that warrants a second year, let alone the full tenure of Riley's contract.

I'll always be a fan of DoNU, but I can't stand by when there are people willing to accept incompetence and ineptitude and gobble up the PR coming out of Eichorst's office at face value.

Bottom line: These kids playing for DoNU deserve better than Riley, and they deserve better from the fans than acceptance of the current s***show that is currently in charge of the program.

Stupidity is defined as doing the same exact thing and expecting different results. If you open the new dictionary, you will see a picture of our coaching staff next to the word "Stupidity". That sums up our staff. No amount of time can make these coaches better. They have a losing culture since they were in Oregon State and they simply brought that losing culture with them. The arrogance of Eichorst to assume that this coaching staff can come here and win immediately should be enough reason to get him and the inept President fired.

  14. Here is what I fail to understand. Let us just assume that Riley was telling the truth and that Armstrong decided to pass even though he was told not to do so. After the third down play, there was a timeout taken. Why didn't the coaches tell Armstrong NOT to PASS. Or Heck, take the sack if you have to. The point is there is absolutely NO EXCUSE for this disaster of play calling. If you told me that we had the ball at the 27 yard line with 55 seconds to go and we were up 13 to 7 and we lost the game, I would have said you are lying but seeing is believing. Drew Brown has been good, let him at least try to win it for us and put the game out of reach. Here is my issue, if we are not capable of beating Illinois then it is extremely hard to see us win again. Purdue has a QB that is lights out in long passing and we are dead last against the pass. I simply can't see us truning the corner any time soon. This coach might be a nice guy but if he has not won anything in 40 years, what makes us think that he will win here. Let's face it, our AD flexed his muscle and got HIS guy without doing his job and actually seeking out the RIGHT man for the job. I do not believe that a coach needs four years to turn things around. AT LEAST NOT in a program with such pride and loyal fans. How did the coaches at Michigan and Florida do it. They took over disasters and their teams are making a BIG splash. We have become insiginificant. No one talks about Nebraska football anymore unless it is a BIG play against us. I have been a loyal fan ever since I can remember and I go to all the games I can but it is getting harder and harder to see my beloved Huskers turned into a laughing stock of college football. I am not saying Bo was teh right person and I am glad he is gone but this person is not RIGHT either. He is loyal to his coaching staff which means that he will not make the necessary changes to correct things. There are no positives any more. We lost the last record by losing our first game and we are a punching bag for any program that wants to make a splash. It is a disgrace to call this defense the blackshirts because it is a slap to the face of every player that actually played defense at Nebraska. I honestly do not believe that this coaching staff is capable of producing nine win seasons.
