  1. They'd be nice gets, but we need D-lineman. Good ones. Sure we do. Not for next year but the future. However that fact doesn't automatically make this class suck or mean the coaches are going a horrible job. I will reserve final judgment on signing day, but if we are not able to finish in the top 20, then Riley and company have not met the expectations they were hired to do. Bo had many classes ranked outside the top 20 and into the early 30s, and Riley was supposed to really excel with recruiting. Even if we land Butler, Jackson, Fitzpatrick, and Farniok, I don't see this class ending up in the top 20. Where was it said that this was the expectation of the new staff. I believe the two main objectives were that Riley has done OK with OSU level recruits - he was sold as someone that does well with average talent and should be able to have better talent here (that is different then being a better recruiter). The second thing that most were sold on was that fact that he would not act like an idiot on the sideline and in the interview room. He was hired to win Championships! Do you really believe that is going to happen without better recruits! they go hand in hand!!!!! Agree and we ALL want the championships - did you plan on getting that Championship in year one or two. If so, you might want to tame down the expectations. We haven't been highly ranked in awhile and to get these championships we have to get past the defending National Champs and a potential NC for this year (just for the BIG Champtionship) - along with other current powerhouse teams in the playoffs for the NC. Seems like if we could get into the top 25 next year and bump our recruiting up to a solid top 20 class and then try to improve both those numbers by 5 or 10 we would have a reason to start to talk about championships again on a yearly basis. As said before, I'm not "in" enough to know if Riley is the guy, however giving him more than a handful of months would be nice - maybe creating a little stability around here would be good!!! No I didn't expect to win a championship in yr. one or yr. 2 but the recruiting has to improve Immediately. That is how we will win championships, that and coaching. Even if by some miracle the recruiting improves, it will take some time to see results. We can't afford to keep losing out on these recruits or it just becomes " well next yr.............then next yr.............. then.................. Well I think you get the message. We have been patient for a very loooooong time. Recruiting has already improved - Riley saved Bo's 2015 class and added a few to it last year. This years class is averaging about 5 points higher per player on 247 composite. When you go after the top recruits you are going to loss out way more than winning. Most top recruits have 10 to 20 solid offers so you have a 5% to 10% chance to grab them - when you get to the final 3 you have done well, obviously the close is required for it to matter. The comment about being patient for a very looooooong time is confusing to me. You are either including Bo in that time which would make it a true statement, however Riley can't take credit for Bo's slow recruiting. I wish Bo would have gotten his dream job in the sec after year 2 when he thought he was the real deal. If you are only including Riley in the above comment (which I assume you aren't) then you are about as patient as when my kids were 2. And yet two of the top four rated recruits in this class were committed to Bo. How bout 15 yrs since really winning anything of merit Is that patient enough. No top ten , hardly ever top 20 and lately not even ranked. Yee haw!!! and like it was mentioned here I believe a couple of the higher rated guys were Bobos' and by the way that top 3 were gettin in for those recruits ain't nothin to write home about . We are not getting beat out by okie or alabama , or people like that it is mostly the also rans. . I noticed how you didn't want to talk about class rank, well I can see why, we are behind most of the teams in the conference and about 8th in the Big!!! Impressive Do you really think we are just going to pull out some miraculous finish to this class when we really haven't done it up to now. Well there is some Kool-aide for ya

  3. And the last shreds of winning are finally eliminated... Mediocrity was flushed with the firing of the last coach, getting rid of the dead weight he recruited is only the next step to restoring the order. Radar do you really believe that pie in the sky bulls$#t you spew? Or are you paid by someone to come on here and reel off this crap when most every sign points the opposite way!!!!! I mean seriously wtf I am right 99.35% of the time. Its been calculated! I hope that was "tongue in cheek" Cuz if not, I want to know how you are calculating that, mus be usin that der nue math. lol

  6. You are missing the point Grandpa. If and probably when he is successful in florida. I seriously doubt he will becoming here, he will be getting better offers than us. Be realistic and not a homer, why would he? Really why would he Simply because he won a natty here silly. I ran with Scott in track in high school and he loves the state, the people, and is a HUGE husker fan. You want to know why he'd come here, look no further than that. How about this" Show me the money" that might be the fly in the ointment. I am stunned how people think we are still some destination job. Guess what we ain't and every yr. we get just a little bit smaller on the national scene. Stunned that some people think this is not a destination job. 1. One of the all-time winningest programs " Do you think that carries much weight when we haven't won anything that matters in far too long? No top 10 rankings, ass beatings on TV " 2. State-of-the-art facilities " We are far from alone in this" 3. Pay check that will be in the millions and comparable to other big time programs " I am not sure but I don't think we are even in the top 15-20 of salaries paid" 4. Rabid fan-base that has sold out every single game for a half-century " Do you really think this is that much of a draw? really! " Ya haven't ya noticed how people have been lining up for this "Destination" job Let's see, TO hired Bo a while back, who was a top DC for the national championship team. Then SE hired the first guy on his list. Not much of a chance for people to line up for this destination job. Does it help that MR thinks it's a destination job? Coming from OSU, ya he probably does. This unfortunately, is where we are at in the college football world. I think I will rest my case on that one.

Dude, he has a national championship ring from Nebraska and has his name etched in the record books...we ARE a destination job for someone like him...maybe not others, but most likely he'd want to coach here. Wake up Blitz and smell the Coffee! You may turn out to be right, heaven knows I hope you are, but the percentages are not good.A yr ago maybe, but in 2-3 yrs not likely.
  10. Radar law of averages says you have to be right about something, but I think you are the anomoly to that rule

  12. You are missing the point Grandpa. If and probably when he is successful in florida. I seriously doubt he will becoming here, he will be getting better offers than us. Be realisticand not a homer, why would he? Really why would he So, what you are saying is that we should just be happy with who ever is coach here because no hot young coach would ever come here. What I am saying is that when he is ready to move on and move UP. That we will be down the list of suitors and we have not shown the tendency to roll out the money to get people. That does not appear to be our M.O does it? Unless we decide to pony up and get in the big boy game, I see the misery continuing and continuing........................................... until the flatline------------------------------------------------------------------------ Charge paddles!!!

  14. Exactly how would you like it to be? It has been a long............. slide to mediocrity. It is hard to realistically be upbeat if you are someone who is really vested in the program.
  15. That is exactly how I feel, but I don't see Scott coming if he has success down there. Why would he, I think we are one coach to late. He is bright and is a sharp guy that some on here said " oh no he can't start here, he needs to cut his teeth somewhere else" Well be careful what you wish for. Do you honestly think he could have done any worse!!!!! The kid is a winner and I fear we will regret it. Wake UP nobody is beating down the door to f"n come here........... Well at least not for what were payin and even then..
  16. I am afraid after a few more yrs of mediocre results that Scott wouldn't want to come here. We are so close to slipping off into the abyss it will not take too much more before we become a Colorado. Tell me honestly if you have seen the drive the moxie, the "due anything it takes" attitude from this bunch to get this ship righted? I want to believe they can I really do. I want to see the great recruiting class everyone promises or the up tick in coaching. A spark something to give me hope, but to my eyes it looks like the same downhill trek we have been on for yrs. How much further do you think we can go, before it becomes the point of no return........
