Honestly after today's performance I would be okay with keeping Scott but I really really really want Tom Herman to be the offensive coordinator. The TV announcers said that Scott said we couldn't recruit Texas anymore. Well, would help with that

i like frost and i like the way the team gets up for big games, but he's gotta take one from wisc or iowa.

if he stays, he's gotta hit the transfer portal hard.

i think herman's next stop will be as a hfc unless he gets an oc gig in the league.

wouldn't mind herman as our hc.

I'd be he's on the list but I feel Tucker will be the pick.  Agree on everything else as well. The right coach applies a healthy amount of pressure on the division and could recruit well enough in the areas the other teams in the west struggle to beat an east team in a one game scenario.

i think they get tucker.   aranda or napier if tucker stays at michst.

For some reason LSU message boards seem to think that Frost will be reaching out to Myles Brennan. Gotta admit, he's a solid QB who's had some bad breaks (both figuratively and literally). How ironic would it be if an LSU QB saved Frost's job, after the whole Burrow fiasco?

we are in the right situation for a transfer qb.  actually in a good situation for transfer anything if frost comes back.  would make up the recruiting class given most of those players aren't looking to be here long term.

brennan has high end pro arm talent, has had solid showing in limited play time.  his arm, release and accuracy is outstanding.  just needs to actually play in games more. stop getting hurt.  he's not a dual threat, but isn't a statue either.

I agree that Nebraska could ultimately be an easier/better job but right now it’s not. I just don’t think a guy like Kiffin would leave to take on a rebuild in this point in his career unless it’s for a significant pay raise. I wonder if he’s on LSU’s short list. That’s a job he would leave Ole Miss for.

he would definitely go to lsu.  not sure if he's on their short list or not.

i think the ceiling at ole miss, given the area and competion, is lower than what it is at nebraska.

the right coach at nebraska could really be one upset away from going to the playoff some years.  no good reason we can't win a minimum 8 games a year and win the west at least half the time.

I mean, me personally? No. But they're a state employee so technically anybody that pays state taxes in Nebraska helps pay their salary.

scott frost doesn't receive a dime from the state.  most high end college programs aren't financed with tax dollars.

Ps. Direct reference to Martinez's UCLA presser when asked about zone read plays on the 1 yard line.

was thinking of the gauntlet that is the sec west compared to the BIG west.  i don't know what to tell ya about beating the BIG east champ.

It's funny seeing some of the comments posted especially the reference to the 1970s.  These guys really do not know their history well nor have they ever likely stepped foot in Lincoln.

the lsu fan base has a lot of young people and bandwagon type fans from the last two decades.  they don't know football from last century.

But if you’re Kiffin would you rather be at Nebraska or Ole Miss….

that's a good question.  he could prolly pull the same type of talent in lincoln, but wouldn't have to play half the season against juggernauts and potential juggernauts.

i think he would at least replicate what bo did.

tom herman coulda delt with all the drama at texas a bit better, but it seems everyone has trouble there.  he did a better job than anyone else since 2009.

would think getting herman before he get's snatched up by someone else would be the thing to do.  only reason he doesn't have a head gig is the belated nature of his firing. he'll have one next year.

obviously other candidates, but i think herman is the best realistic option.

i was tempted to pick "write in", but i find i'm not that special.

i do like how trump borrowed so much from the banks they had to keep loaning it to him. he left em high and dry while filing for bankruptcy on 4 or so different occasions. i have to laugh at that. he seems to have some merit in regard to work ethic and wanting to win, though it hardly outweighs what i don't like about him.

it does outweigh anything hillary has ever done (nothing). she is a bought and paid for political prostitute, what's worse, it isn't just domestic special interests that she cashes in on.

BRB has belabored this point before, but can you guess who DID get screwed by those bankruptcies?

    Hint: Not him.

well i know it's not him, that was the point. as far as WHO get's screwed, it does matter if it's before or after 2008ish.

Not sure I can force myself to vote for either The Don or Hillary. I don't care for either of them. Is this the best America has to offer? Really???

the "lesser of 2 evils" is absolutely Trump

    Nuh uh.

mmm...he probably is the less of two evils...probably.

OK...so, Tyrann Mathieu is scared to go into his own home town of New Orleans.

    LINK

I used to love NO. But, since Katrina, the city has become more and more dangerous.

So...if you were the mayor of NO, how would you handle it? Boost police and crack down on criminals causing more incarcerated people? Hand out more welfare?

    What would you do?

i was born in new orleans, have lived there off and on over the last 40 years.

it just keeps getting worse and i have no idea how it will ever get better.

i moved out for the last time in 2009 and i rarely go back, even though i'm only across the lake.

moving to portland in month or so, i doubt i ever come back to louisiana. it's one big gov't subsidized piece of crap just waiting to fall over.

they could at least legalize weed to make some profit and set up "legal" drugs in general through hospitals, clinics or w/e. taking drug money off the street would be a start, not that the "business" of medicine is much better.

Your view on this is interesting since you have lived there.

Sad thing is, there are parts of Louisiana that I think I would love to live. One in particular, I had to visit a project our company was involved with at a house along a canal. This canal was lined with really nice homes with nice boats out back. The owner could get in his boat and go through the lake and be in the gulf fishing. I thought that looked AWESOME!!! (This sounds like it's pretty close to where you live)

Sad thing is, the government and education are so screwed up in the state that I doubt if I would ever want to actually move there.

this is the biggest problem. there are lots of places that are nice to live in and around new orleans. you don't have to go across the lake. the private school selection is top notch. good as any secondary education in the country, but can be pricey. lots of educational options.

that said, the overall crime rate and drag that keeps getting worse in louisiana diminishes the quality of life that is available due to it getting worse and spreading. uptown and the garden district are awesome, but why buy a million dollar home to be surrounded by a third world city and a very polluted mississippi river.

the northshore and some areas in and around new orleans are great, but there are better options across the country.

  14.

I've simply asked, how do you promote WSDEs to be started and thrive in New Orleans. All you ever seem to come back with are snide comments towards anyone who might actually want to make a profit. You know....because all we want to do is own slaves. Gee....wonder where I got the idea you hate profit.

So...if a group of people who are all going to work together want to start a WSDE to make something and sell it, what entices them to do it in New Orleans instead of some other city? That is....after they start paying everyone a higher wage and pay higher taxes than those other cities.

And....on a side tangent.......Please explain to me if I'm making bobbers and own the business....why do I care if one of my competitors is a WSDE?

If someone wants to start a business in N.O. I imagine it is because they live there and/or have some special preference for N.O.

My snide remarks re: profits, as I have explained many times, is the concentration of profit to the few, the putting profits over the interests of people, and the like. People talk about ending poverty, well, don't concentrate profits to the few, the 1% and what not.

You can learn all the latest about WSDEs here: http://www.democracyatwork.info/ or http://www.nycworker.coop/#network or http://www.shareable.net/blog/it-takes-an-ecosystem-the-rise-of-worker-cooperatives-in-the-us My guess is you're not that interested.

According to a University of Wisconsin study, nearly 30,000 cooperatives of all kinds (consumer, producer, worker, etc.) operate within the United States at 73,000 places of business, own over $3 trillion in assets, and generate over $500 billion in revenue annually. Cooperatives employ over 2 million people and pay out an estimated $75 billion annually in wages, according to the study.

As to your last Q, if a different business model proves to be better/more attractive then it can be viewed as a threat to an existing business model, so that's why your bobber biz might feel threatened.

I'm failing to see where you think I need to learn more about them. I've said I'm all for them if people can make them work. I'm not against them. Again...I'm not against them. Let me slow it down for you....I'm.....not......against .......them.

And, to your last comment. That makes absolutely no sense. If another business model is better than the one that I run making bobbers, that's my problem to become a better manager or reorganize my company to compete. Ding...ding....ding.....that's how markets work.

    Ok, you're for WSDEs, yippie!

If you are having to reorganize your biz to be more competitive with, in this case, WSDEs, which is what you asked about, then that is why your bobber biz..ding ding ding...might have to be concerned about WSDEs, especially those making bobbers.

But...that doesn't mean I'm against them or want them eliminated. It simply means I have to rethink how my own company works.

This happens every day in the market place. You act like this is some amazing revelation that OMG....you are going to really sock it to those evil business owners now.

Fact is....employee owned businesses have been around for a long time. Consumer owned businesses have been around a long time. That hasn't all of a sudden turned America into socialism utopia. They are free to form and work and grow. If they are successful...hey...keep going.

So often your ideology clouds your ability to carry on a conversation.

BTW.....none of this is explaining how we help people in inner city New Orleans improve their living conditions to lower the crime rate.

at some point, people have to take charge of their own living conditions. the people in inner city new orleans have been helped quite a bit. some help themselves, some don't.

  16. It really doesn't matter much as the Nation is basically FUBAR already, proof positive evidence is Hillary barely winning over a socialist coot while the Donald apparently will win to oppose her. At this point, the fact that the electorate is about to choose between an evil witch who makes no attempt to conceal her diabolical ways that offers absolutely no real world business or economics or military or social skills having never been employed in an actual working job in her life and a self absorbed real estate mogul that has had more business failures than 99% of the business managers in the world with absolutely no political or social or military or economics backgrounds.

What, pray tell, do either 'the witch bitch' and the 'loud mouth' offer America at a time in its history when we need a great leader with superlative skills in social, political, economic and military matters on a global scale?

Yes, I understand that Americans are rightfully pissed. Socialist economic policies of the past twenty years have led to massive increases in poverty, unemployment, family disintegration, education failure, international chaos on a global scale, the distruction of the American dream of leaving the next generation better off than the prior one, etc. There is really nothing positive going on anywhere frankly. Stock market propped up with massive government 'investment', deficit spending on a biblical scale with unprecedented 'zero interest rate' environment that nearly every economist would have said prior to 2008 was nearly impossible and insane and a Federal Reserve and Congress afraid to even discuss realistic budget and fiscal policies for fear of tipping the entire world in global economic abyss.

Sadly, we are well beyond the point of no return and this general election is glaring proof that it doesn't matter which one wins, we are all losers.

i think we've been the losers for the past 3 decades.

  17. 1 scoop assault pre-workout

2 scoops of combat powder and milk after workout with multivitamin, creatine and osteo bi-flex.

2 scoops of combat at lunch with some almonds and an apple.

eat dinner. usually some kind of meat with veggies and brown rice.

snack on peanut butter or mixed nuts.

half a sweet potato at bed.

    around 1800 calories a day.

i'm thinking of trying intermittent fasting. working out in the evening with a pre, then taking 2 scoops of combat w/milk, multi and bi-flex. eat dinner around 8. drink coffee all day. i'm at an age where i don't think i'm gonna get totally shredded. i'm good w/o but thought this might cut a bit more bfat.

  18.

I see 5 loses as a good possibility. We may be favored in all but 2, but we were favored in most of the games we lost last year. 9-3 would be a good start to Riley's rebuilding the team. 2018, should show what he has built. jmo

    GBR!!!

Guessing you mean we lose to Oregon, Northwestern, Wisconsin, Ohio State and Iowa?

My gut tells me we will go 3-2 in those games if not better.

9 wins with + or - 1 seems about right.

  19.

How do you retain any sort of muscle at 1800 calories and 140g of protein? It seems like for your size you should be almost doubling your calories and getting in 200g of protein a day. I'm 175 and the only way I can make any sorts of gains is at least 3200 calories with around 190g of protein per day. I've started training hard this year and so far I've gained 20 pounds since the end of the summer while lowering my body fat.

i'm not trying to gain mass or size. i'm fairly stout anyway. just maintaining what i have, everyone is different. w/o lifting over the last seven years i could still bench 315 on a good day. i'm below 195 now, usually 193-194 and have to be lower or at 10% bf.

on my first day back, a little over a year and a half ago, i put up 295 on bench, 365 on squat and dl after a seven year layoff. weighed about 210 with around 20% bf.

we're all born with defferent types of muscle and varying degrees of natural muscle mass, whether we get "enough" protein or not. i'm 41 now, so i noticed myself getting a bit tubby and also some atrophy from what i normally carried around w/o weight training or diet. i started back at 40. last time i lifted was 33.

I'm surprised this hasn't been posted yet. I saw earlier today that there was a push to form a "White Student Union" at the University of Illinois after increases in black protest on that campus.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/morning-mix/wp/2015/11/20/white-student-union-challenges-black-lives-matter-at-university-of-illinois/

From the little I have read, I'm not sure the approach taken by whoever is posting this suggestion makes sense, but I do wonder if we will see some groups opposed to all the Black Lives Matter groups (or similar) start to get active on college campuses. The U of I administration condemned the White Student Union and has contacted facebook multiple times to have it removed.

Speaking of Black Lives Matters, I see that our great chancellor, Harvey, sent out a note the other day talking about how great Black Lives Matter is, and encouraged everyone to participate in their rally, and that he would be there too. Now I wonder if there was a White Student Union or some other opposition group if Harvey would endorse it and attend as well. I mean, there could be white students that feel there is too high of a percentage of blacks on the football team or in other major sports relative to the national racial percentages, and that there must be equity in that regard. I don't believe in giving any group special treatment and believe the best person should get the job/position.

Anyway, I'm sure there will be more to come on this, especially if it continues or builds steam.

No, and it would be stupid if he did. Whites don't need to form their own special group to get their voices heard. They're over represented in pretty much every positive category you can think of, and underrepresented in the negative ones.

how are the whites under represented in the negative category wise?

I'm assuming you're joking but if not I'll mention one:

    Poverty rate

10% of Whites are in poverty. 27% of Blacks, 24% of Hispanics. It's a problem for Whites but not near as much of one as it is for Blacks or Hispanics. They have much more reason to try to have their voices heard to try to get the problem fixed. Perhaps I should have said comparatively since ideally there would be 0% poverty rate.

sounds like they have more reason to try and make something of themselves instead of worrying about who might have it easier. some white kids have it easier than other white kids. in the new orleans area, where i'm from, a lot of black professional families have kids who have it easier than some white kids. those same families also teach their children to stay away from "hood rats", etc. same thing you see in white culture, don't mix with a lower economic class. maybe black people aren't as much of a minority down here anymore so they aren't all full of excuses.

at the end of the day, people have to look out for themselves, and if they don't have the drive to change their station in life, it won't matter how much "help" they receive. black people have every right to better themselves in this country instead of falling back on excuses. previous generations did a lot for them. does that mean they'll make millions of dollars a year as an f100 ceo? probably not. most people from any other race won't either. when you start comparing freedom and the ability to determine one's life to the elite, you can compare just about everyone to that, race aside.

i grew up with "blacks" and one of the biggest insults you can make to a professional self made black person is to treat them like they're "black", even if it's well intended. i have two close friends i've known since 1st grade. they finished high school, went to college and have been electrical engineers for close to 20 years. nothing dramatic, nothing fancy. they came from lower/middle class homes. they are both pretty bright, showed up everyday and didn't use any excuses. most people of any race in this country, present day, don't do things because they don't want to do them. they just want something handed to them.

as far as white people in this country. it was taken over by whites, settled by whites and is run by whites. that's how it is. people can try their luck back in their homelands, no one is stopping them. (except maybe their sh**ty homelands). this country was built on the backs of more white people than any other race(most of it wasn't the most glamorous work). if black people's ancestors where sold by their own people and shipped over here? they're lucky. they had it worse being slaves in africa to their own people and would be a lot worse off now, on avg. obviously not saying any of it is ok, but it happened. OMG!!! more opportunities for the majority race!!! who would have thought!!!
