Poorly educated?????? And you are the one claiming it would be no big deal if the U.S. went bankrupt????

Recognizing that his statements are utterly bs is not poorly educated.

What is laughable are the hoops his supporters are jumping through to keep supporting him.

Conservatives should be about fiscal responsibility. Going bonkers on borrowing and not giving a crap if the country has to take bankruptcy is not fiscal responsibility.

    But....keep jumping through those hoops.

You can't build a business (which the US economy is, by the way) without taking risk. Employees simply don't understand.

So when people talk about Trump bankrupting 4 companies as a reason why he's inept all I can do is roll my eyes and laugh. The reason most people don't go bankrupt is because they never do anything of significance. They clock in and clock out day after day at a job they don't like (but try to convince themselves and others that they do) and then try to tell everyone else how to run their lives.

Sorry if you perceive this as "hoop jumping." I realize Trump isn't perfect. I realize the things he's planning on doing are somewhat risky. But what's the alternative? Continuing to be a doormat in the world with trade, education, economy, immigration, etc.? Count me out on that one.

On the current path, America is on track for total collapse, and Trump is the only one who's planning to do anything about it. Sorry if he doesn't tip-toe around like the politicians that so many people on this board seem to adore, but so many of the things that he's proposing have been desperately needed in this country for decades now. Have fun living in Canada.

So what is he "planning on doing"? Other than say he's the greatest and he has awesome plans - what has he actually said he will do? He speaks with ZERO content other than to spew hatred and bigotry. He's an embarrassment to this country.

You speak of his bankruptcies as badges of honor because he tried. He impacted millions of people with each of those filings, which he admits he made out well financially by doing so. These are our fellow americans, you and I who are trying to work to feed ourselves and our families. Once, is a mistake - two, three and four more is just greed, poor business planning and strategy, and absolute selfishness.

Look into his promises to the folks in the communities in Scotland, and in Jersey City as well as other spots where he's done business. It's indicative of what we're up for if he gets a place in government. False promises that he can't deliver on. ZERO CONTENT.

He's a buffoon. You must not be a woman or have a wife, or more specifically a daughter. Would you be ok with him alluding to her to get on her knees to earn his business support? With him belittling her professional skills by calling her a bimbo?

Once again, you have no idea about anything business related. I'd like to see you go out and try to build a 10 billion dollar empire and see how many companies you bankrupt. I bet it will be more than 4. Much, much more.

"I'd like to see you do better" is hardly a stellar defense of Trump. And that seems needlessly inflammatory.

All I'm trying to say is that everybody acts like it's so easy and have absolutely no clue. And if he would have stepped back after his first bankruptcy he never would have built the enormous empire he did.

People can try to discredit him by saying he started with a lot so it was easy, but people who say that are morons, honestly.

And moraine, sorry, but I don't subscribe to the PC culture BS. Sometimes there's a right side and a wrong side, and this is one of those times.

Matter of opinion on the right and wrong side HuskerShark - those who can't respect that people can have differences of opinions without belittling them and calling them names are the ones proving themselves to be uneducated and simple minded. With your comments here it's obvious that you represent the exact population that Trump has taken advantage of. God help us.

You're wrong about my business experiences, but you are right, I wouldn't go bankrupt 4 times. I would have stopped and switched gears after the first time I had to put thousands of people out of work and ask the government to help me and creditors to cover my poor business planning ass.

Not only has KJJ been a solid commit, he is constantly recruiting others to Nebraska.

Dont let any tweet concern you... He is all N and just have to have faith.

And for god sakes, dont tweet at him... just leave him alone.

Have I missed it somewhere in this thread ... are people talking about tweeting at him?

Was that someone from this group?

  6. I understood that Kiffin was headed to practice/school. As our coaches do they go to watch numerous potential comitts and recruits and talk with their coaches. Keep in mind that Calabasas is a hotbed for talent right now. There are plenty of folks Kiffin is likely talking to. Bookie, TGeb etc. Nobody is freaking out about that. I honestly don't think he would put himself on the big stage with peer recruiting, pretty much locking up his best friend and then change his mind. He has a great relationship with his position coach the head coach and I feel like he's got the whole package fit with UNL. With that said, I'd like to get him back on campus for a reminder sooner rather than later.

  7.

Oregon might be the leader here for them. Imo

Which sucks because if Martell goes there Lindsey won't be far behind.

I agree - I gotta believe having Bookie in his ear is good for us, but there's that year between them. I thought we had a better shot at Tyjon than Darnay. Now who knows.

  8. He's 17-18. Let's not lambaste a kid on whether or not he seeks attention on social media site thats sole purpose is based around creating said attention for those who use it.

Does anybody actually hate attention recieved due to your hard work? Be it from co-workers, family, coaches, or random strangers everybody 'seeks attention'.

I don't thin anybody is lambasting, just noting that his need for followers and responses and media attention may be misleading the Big Red abut his intention. He's been asking Gebbia and others to get him followers, and his activity is far different from others of same age and talent. With that said, if attention is a big factor for him, then Husker Nation is the place for him.

  9. Absolutely wouldn't attend college without a visit. Especially one so far away from home. It would be one thing if he had a buddy coming with him, or a friend already here. But great fans or not - momma won't let her son make that sort of decision, especially if they're as close as it sounds they are.

Now, if he can get up for a visit on a game day ... just imagine how impressed he'd be with the fan base.

Why does everyone constantly assume that the people who oppose this think that trans people are the problem. They're not. I'm not for suppressing their desire to use the facility that makes them most comfortable but I am for keeping it "out of place" for a man to enter the ladies room. Not because they might be trans but because most of these sexual assault and predatory problems are caused by non-trans males.

I don't know why this keeps happening, but in the last two/three pages of this thread, you keep saying you're not worried about the trans people you're worried about the predators, and people keep responding to you like you're saying something about the trans people.

You're not the only one seeing this. It's weird.

That's what happens when emotions get brought into discussion. NM is obviously somewhat passionate about it. Keeps missing the point.

I don't think anyone is missing the point. Our points just differ, and that doesn't make either one less valid.

Nobody has debated with you on the fact that a man should not be allowed into a ladies room. Nobody has debated with you that if there was some way to do it we should limit access to any sexual predator to either the mens or the ladies rooms.

I respect your concerns that this rule will allow bad people to potentially use this as a way to access bathrooms. I just don't agree. I simply tried to make the point in a variety of examples that gender or gender identity is not tied to sexual predatory risk, and that there is no evidence that allowing someone into a bathroom to relieve themselves increases safety risks for anyone. Regardless of gender or gender identity.

"What about sex offenders? Those that have already been charged with possessing child porn, sexual assault, etc...How do we keep THEM from abusing this policy?"

How do we monitor or keep them from doing so now?

    We don't.

    Exactly.

I guess I am now confused which side you are taking on this deal. Currently, standard convention helps prevent men from entering the ladies room. These guys know today that people will look at them funny and probably say something if they attempt to use the women's room. With this new Target policy, there is not even that deterrent to help keep them out. I realize that may cause a little discomfort for some trans people but I really do believe that would serve society as whole better.

My point is that we can't assume that sex offenders are the opposite sex, or same sex. We can not monitor the risky "bathroom goers" at all right now anyway. By allowing transgendered to use the bathroom aligned to who they are today we are not increasing risk, as we have no clue what risk is now and we don't monitor and can't regulate it. Today men can go into mens rooms and prey on men. Women can go into womens' rooms and prey on women. Nothing changes if a transwoman goes into a ladies room. She may or may not be a good person or a sexual deviant just like everyone in every stall next to her.

If mom wants him close then good thing that officials now include parents. According to 247 the only school that he has down that he unofficially visited was Mississippi... Meaning maybe he couldn't come up here on his own dime and maybe he wouldn't have been able to bring mom on an official when parents weren't included in the cost.. Granted he has to schedule an official first

He's trying to visit MissSt soon. Mom has a work schedule that is making that difficult.

He's visited there (MSU) 4 times since late October .... thus my thoughts about committing anywhere other than MissSt. Hasn't set foot on another campus yet.

  13.

I'd like to be on record saying that I don't necessarily know if new added legislation is necessary or not for this topic. Maybe, it is, maybe it's not. But I very much feel like the negative/opposed reaction to Target's policy is extremely overblown and the result of fearmongering.

Coach, you asked about sex offenders. There is a ton of data/evidence on this that shows things such as the overwhelming majority of sex crimes being by non-repeat offenders who aren't on the registry, the vast majority of sexual crimes being perpetrated by someone who knows or is acquainted with the victim, the minority of sexual crimes being committed in public, and even less than that taking place in bathrooms.

So, is Target's new policy opening the window of opportunity for sex offenders to pose as transgendered people in order to rape our spouses and children? Well.....no, probably not. The data isn't there. Maybe someone could twist a semi-compelling reason that it increases the likelihood of risk, but until someone produces some kind of study or validated research showing that risk increase to be anything other than incredibly minute, I fail to see the problem, since we live with accepted minute risks in life all the time.

Can public restrooms be dangerous places and potential targets (no pun intended) for voyeurs, exhibitionists, and pedophiles? Yes! But, that’s always been the case, long before Target’s policy announcement. Vigilance, caution, and common sense have always been advisable. You shouldn’t need policies or laws to convince you of that.

What are the chances that you’re going to encounter a transgender individual in a restroom at Target? Infinitesimally small! What are the chances that this individual will pose some threat to you or a member of your family? Even smaller. What are the chances and likelihood of women and children being victimized, traumatized, harmed, or abused within communities of faith at the hands of trusted individuals whom they believe are sincerely serving the Christ that they claim to follow? Sadly, tragically, and damnably far greater.

Well said. THANK YOU Landlord. Rational, fact based, humane comments. I think I'm going to stop reading this thread at this time, as nothing said after this is worthy of consideration.

  14.

And I've already said it before, women can be peeping "Toms" too. There's nothing to stop a woman from watching me while I pee except thin cracks in the stall door. There are also plenty of male sexual predators who are interested in men.

I also feel like this is the last place a sexual predator would try something like that.

Moiraine, I think we need to see the big picture here. This goes beyond just target as well. They started a new policy, who's next? Malls, Restaurants, Movie Theaters, BARS, nightlife entertainment areas...

I think when you look beyond Target, that's when the scenario's start to look more concerning.

"What about sex offenders? Those that have already been charged with possessing child porn, sexual assault, etc...How do we keep THEM from abusing this policy?"

How do we monitor or keep them from doing so now?

    We don't.

    Exactly.

  15.

Is this one of those topics that no one really cares about but they are just pretending that they care about it?

The only time I feel "weird" in the can is when the person next to me is either talking on their phone and I don't know they are on the phone at first...or if they are making tons of noise.

I have a feeling that none of us ACTUALLY care about this topic. By that I mean, will start or stop shopping at Target.

One can not care about a topic and still discuss it without pretending to care.

Now onto a more important topic. One which bothers me enough that I've probably posted about it before.

I have a huge pet peeve when it comes to public restrooms. If I enter a place with 10 stalls and they're all empty, it's okay to pick any stall but the wheel chair one.

But there are rules the 2nd person needs to abide by to avoid being considered a freak. At least by me.

There are now 9 empty stalls to choose from. Do not, under any circumstances, pick the stall next to me. This happens to me an astounding number of times. What the hell is wrong with people? Are they so afraid of being alone that they have to pee right next to a stranger??

Did you know that statistically the first stall in the bathroom is significantly less "germy"? Most people go long, and take all their germs with them. So I might be right next to you if you've chosen the 2nd stall. Cuz I always choose the first.
