  1. Lamichael James, Christine Michael.... both freshmen, both look better than Rex right now. (yes I know LJ is a RFr, but still... same amount of time left to develop)

Rex is going to be a great back for us, doing all those little things. But I don't see him ever being a sexy (for lack of a better term... no homo, you know what I'm sayin) hypesman pick.

  2. CU put up 403 yards on us today. What the hell was with that last touchdown too was that Hagg? That dude gave up huge plays all day.

Not sure... but Hagg was hyped to be this lockdown DB, and he has been pretty average in pass coverage this year. I have been disappointed by him several times this year.

Asante had some brain farts again, too.

Short Week + CCG coming up may have played a role, I'm not sure. But that last play was inexcusable.

  3. Now it is 42-32 Texas. Now way does Texas have the automatic win agaist us. Our D is way better than A&M's and our offense keeps getting better. Texas looks suspect to me, the Huskers could win this thing.

Hopefully this isn't one of those wake up call games, and texas comes out on all cylinders when we play them. We need them to be a little sloppy.

Our O needs to make some major strides in the next couple weeks

  4. Zac Lee is athletic... but he has NEVER run the option prior to a few weeks ago. The read play is totally different than a power or speed option. Right now that play isn't working because the defense doesn't respect Lee, and he is running it very tentatively.

Practice makes perfect, and the more he works on it the better he will be. Give it time and we will see it pick up some first downs...

  5. Per Unsportsmanlike Conduct today, the hosts suggested that they wouldn't be shocked whatsoever if the Akron job were to open and Carl's name is tossed around.

Hmmm... Akron seems like it would be an awfully tough place to start.

Although, it can't be much more difficult than Buffalo.

I really just don't feel sold on Carl. I am sure he helps our D, and has learned a lot from his brother, but sometimes coaching has a lot to do with natural instincts. I just have myself convinced that Carl is not the mastermind behind our defensive turnaround. :dunno

late 80's/early 90's - grad assistant at Kstate

90's - head coach and athletic director at a couple of high schools

2003 - grad assistant at NU

2005 - DLine coach For Ohio

    2008 - D Coordinator/Dline coach at NU

Not bad experience, but not mind blowing either.

  6. There O line was SOOOOOOOO good last year too...

remember when they dominated us in Lincoln last year? ohhh, reesing could barely walk after the game, but I bet that had more to do with a nasty fall he took when he was hammered the night before.

This year, It was just a case of us coming out a little flat, and them being focused and executing at home, their last home game, and on senior day.

  7. Ok... I heard through the grapevine through a friends pet groomer, they have some relation to watsons second cousin... well anyways, I have a source.... they told me Watson has been reading Huskerboard to get coaching tips. My other source over at Verizon... they said wats was in the other day to buy a blackberry... asking questions about viewing HB in places with mediocre reception, like in large stadiums and such.

    take it to the bank.

  8. On saturday several Huskers will be suiting up in Memorial Stadium for the last time. Doing their game day routine, preparing for the game, and taking the almighty tunnel walk for the last time in their careers. I can't begin to imagine the how that must feel for these guys.

A lot of memories, good and bad, for this group of kids. Hell, I remember following several of these guys through the recruiting process. I can't believe they are already on their way out the door. Memorial owes this group of seniors a huge, and I mean HUGE, amount of support on Saturday for what they have done for this program. The least we, as fans, can do is be an absolutely chaotic crowd on saturday.
