  1. He has some game breaking speed but I am more than okay with not overly pursuing here. Feels like he needs a very specific system or you’re going to sacrifice too much of the playbook to try to incorporate him and I’m not certain the production would match. KSU feels like a great fit.

  2. Yeah these were both known, just made official today with the portal being open. A little bummed Collier didn’t work out because he seemed like the exact type of player who would excel in this defense.

Wanted to like Fields but ultimately that offer list didn’t lie.

Tranfer Portal opens today and runs through April 30th.

All the analysts saying to prepare for a lot of unexpected fireworks around the country. Seems like 2nd stringers everywhere will be looking at options.

That time of year where we just can’t overreact to unexpected attrition and hope it’s limited. I expect most on our end will be good attrition.

  4. Hard not to feel like he twisted the knife a bit but I’m sure there were internal frustrations and tried his best to change them. Still, very unfortunate timing on it.

Now that we likely only have one real target from the portal in Hill at DB..this feels pretty devastating to the offense. We need 1-2 WRs & a RB so badly. There is a distinct lack of playmakers. That backfield is barren. Devoid of talent. They should’ve let Johnson & IGC go. Not sure what the likelihood of getting Washington back is. But they really need some dudes to help out. I just don’t get why we are bringing in the TE volume in the 2024 class either.

Fwiw I gave you a +1 because I do have some concerns and I like your general point. But there is still a lot of time and there’s going to be a big exodus of transfers after bowl games and then again in the spring with grad transfers so I wouldn’t be surprised if some of that is the plan.

Also, I think the numbers are really tight right now and they’re planning for some additions (and subtractions) after Raiola announces he’s coming here.

  6. The first loss that’s a bit of a bummer. Thought he played pretty well when he got PT this year - but I also felt that other starting corner spot could have been his all year and it’s probably not a great sign that he never took it. By all accounts though, he brought good energy to practice and I am rooting for him to land at a good spot.

    A) Phil Loadholt is the 2nd largest human being I have ever stood directly next to.  The 1st is Andre the Giant.

    B) So Deion's new assistant coaching plan is just to hire guys from the NFL with no coaching experience?

Fwiw I definitely agree with you about Sapp. That looks like a disaster hire from the outside (have they made it official?).

But it looks like Loadholt was interning under Bedenbaugh last year. I actually think that’s a really savvy hire given their resources - they weren’t likely to poach a great P5 coach so the next best thing is an up and comer who got some seasoning under one of the best OLine coaches out there.

We are still beating them in Lincoln next year though.

Did anyone get called for targeting? Felt like over the years they'ld get a few guys and at least have reviews every game. So if they didn't have anyone miss a half for targeting thats an improvement

Ty Robinson got one in the Colorado game and had to miss a half against Northern Illinois. I think that was the only one. Although we probably should have been called for one against Iowa lol. But still like you said, a very noticeable improvement.

Edit- I’m dumb, he got one in the Minnesota game and had to miss a half against Colorado.
