The Illinois game had a lot of pressure on it. If we lose that game, we go into the bye 2-4 with an 0-4 record against P5 opponents. Would have been hard to have any positive outlook on the rest of the season if we lose that one on the road.
Instead, we gutted out a win that never really felt that close thanks to our defense. It gave us a nice spark that lasted through October. Might have been my favorite win of the last couple years.

Weirdly feel more comfortable on 3rd and long than 3rd and short. Airing it out some.

Cignetti should be the top choice if he wants the job. Some solid names here.

Thumbs up for no turnovers. But all the more brutal that we only managed a field goal after the first two drives.

I think they have to shut Shedeur down, and Deion is looking for a loophole in the NCAA regulations for Shedeur to be able to transfer again and immediately eligible next season.
I think this could have been the case if they had stolen a win against Arizona or Oregon State in addition to beating Stanford like they should have.
But now? Schools were hesitant to believe in Deion before this year. No way any take a chance on the craziness when he’s proving to struggle as a Gameday coach and already has issues with his coordinator.

I think news of Purdy being the likely starter has it fluctuating back to Wisconsin. Just because it’s a banged up 3rd string QB on the road.
But it’s making for excellent value if you think we can win with a gameplan centered around minimal mistakes and a defense that can stop a bad offense and a team that might be quitting under Fickell.

Crazy that a last second touchdown prevented what would have been our worst loss ever to them (score discrepancy wise).
Turnovers turnovers turnovers.

Rhule’s blaming the refs helped us big this game. This is why you do it.

How did Kemp drop that. And Sims threw that thing like ne needed 400 yards...
Not excusing it but it floated in the air so long I’m sure he thought he was going to get crushed lol. Still gotta catch it but I am just saying.

Refs have non-stop hooked us up today. Which means it will get ugly on the road next week.
-
Well that was quick

Didn’t have it today. The nature of this season is being able to beat anybody and lose to anybody.

That Alvano kick might be the thing that wins us this game lol.

Cute, good for them. Now go out and stomp them with a game ending long TD drive.

What a kick

I didn’t love throwing the ball on play #1, particularly because it ended up being an interception. But the staff has to show there’s an effort to pass the ball. There are important receivers in the recruiting class as well as some important ones to keep on the roster. We can stumble over and over and still have a lead over this NW team.
-
Could not have asked for a better year one schedule. Gonna win this one by 30+ now.
-
Lol we will be okay but this is the type of silliness that keeps NW in so many games.

Fwiw, I think everyone brings up good points but I also like the coaches being aggressive. Part of our team’s issues are believing bad things will happen, and attempting to score before the half is an effort to change that.
But after that first bad throw, I would have just ran the ball and tried to get it to halftime. All good. Win this road game.

Honestly wild we gave them their easiest win this year. What a brutal loss looking back. Probably the first real sign the offense was going to be a bit of a roller coaster.
