I agree with this. CT has looked legit and some pretty good grabs by the receivers. But the defense is awful and the run game bad. It feels like we just traded AM for CT and just put on the QB shoulders to win. With AM it was with the run and with CT the pass.

CT and the punter are the only improvements at this point in time. Safety with a blown coverage and DB play and tackling has been poor. Dline has had zero pressure and can’t win on third downs. Linebackers can’t tackle or get in coverage. Mathis has been nonexistent on the edge. Oline has had zero push and running back play has been poor cause of it. WR’s have had dropped balls hit their hands. Special teams have had some questionable return and fair catch decisions. Definitely our Huskers.

Yep. This isn't an approach to "getting back", this is a last ditch attempt to salvage this mess they've made. Scott had been in over his head and we are just watching if this is too little too late or if it improves.

I'm amazed at how I've finally gotten to the point where I have zero optimism and am looking for other things to take up some of the energy I used to devote to Husker football.

As you write this on Huskerboard in the off-season. GTFOH

For starters, Adrian was way better than most will ever remember him.  It will take a special QB, and circumstances, to break his records.  Casey is not light years ahead of him.  However, Casey is a great next option with an intriguing past that gives us all hope.  We can be really optimistic without crapping on the guy he is replacing.

Adrian gave us his all.  He played through a lot.  He deserves our respect imo.

Are you drunk.  Our o-line was awful.

Our line wasn’t good. But Adrian has an obvious inability to step up into the pocket when it is there. He doesn’t step into many throws as he always reverts to his instinct of bailing on the pocket (play) and throwing off of his back foot. This causes many of his passes to be inaccurate and even short which results in too many interceptions and broken plays. Sometimes he would bust an impressive long play. But the higher percentage of times it hurt us. Casey’s pocket presence is lightyears ahead of Martinez which should make us all hopeful.

I wouldn't second guess it all. Everyone can see who and what the problem is and has been.

What has he done to earn the extra year?

He has done nothing to earn another year. But Trev never said that he earned another year. Trace flat out said Frost was given another year because of loyalty of him being one of our own. Only reason.

  6. My brother-in-law is high up at a nice hotel chain in Omaha. They got a request for proposal for a block of rooms for the College Gameday crew. Depending on how Ohio State does this weekend, it sounds like they may be coming to Lincoln for the Ohio State game. Anyone else hear anything?

Amazing, a week ago we thought the sellout stuff was behind us. Only took one massive bedwetting to bring it back.

We all stick together in all kinds of weather.....  but..... it's been raining for 20 years.

    “We”? Speak for yourself.

At what point do you cut your losses and move on?  Frost had three years (and now a 4th try) to spark a resurgence and rally this football program back into the national fray, but instead we have received one loss after another and one embarrassment after another.  Watch Frost after the games and tell me that is not a man who has given up.  I see no spark.  I see no drive.  I see endless excesses.  I see him constantly throw his own players under the bus.  I see a man counting his days until his return to Florida where every day is sunny and warm and work is easy and fun with a butt-kissing local media to boot.   Plenty of schools in FL that would like to have Frost in charge.  Frost even said he likes to recruit in the day and be back home by dinner.  I bet his wife would love to see the NE winters in her rear-view mirror.  Frost can walk around FL all day long and not be harassed or recognized by the locals.  Was it not Frost who put out warnings to the media and locals that his "child and wife were off limits" before even moving here?  Why the defensive stance against those he (supposedly) wants to spend the rest of his life and career around?  Would he not feel more safe for his family in FL where very few people know who he is?

There are too many positives for Frost to go back to FL and too many negatives for him to stay here.

And we are now all dumber for having read it…. Wow…

  9. Speaking of adjusting big ten schedules, what if Minnesota cancels our game? Any chance in hell we try to play Ohio State instead of Indiana? I bet Ohio State would rather play us. Not to mention if this team were to sneak out a win what that could do to this program and these kids moving forward. Even playing them in a close fought game could be great for the future. Just dreaming over here.....

  10. How embarrassing they handed out black shirts this week and we are currently repping black jerseys with the bones on them while in Memorial Stadium while absolutely s#!tting the bed. Retire the blackshirts for the next decade until we become relevant again and until they stop making the tradition an absolute joke. Frost’s old teammates should be telling him this too.

    Yeah they are.

And I knew they were and I'm embarrassed to say I still got 3/4 of the way through that post before realizing it was nonsense

Husker fans, yes. That is why they want him to be N. Learn how to read. She made it sound like his parents went to Iowa though in college. Or at least I assumed that is why she kept calling them Hawkeyes. Unless she was calling them that cause they live in Iowa. She is actually real smart and knows quite a bit about football. She knows even more about her cousin, Thomas. Which I thought could be valuable to the board.

She actually talked to Thomas today herself and I had some solid info to share. But I’ll keep that info to myself since everyone wants to be dicks.

My sister in-law also has an uncle who is real good friends with Scott and went to school with him growing up. They still have lunch together once every few weeks. I see her uncle at family gatherings quite often. I wanted to start working that connection more often too and get more involved on the board. But sounds like info isn’t needed.

  12. After sharing an article that talked about us landing the 1st and 3rd ranked JuCos. A coworker of mine chimed in and told me Fidone was her cousin and that they are all hoping he is N. She said “even his Hawkeye parents”. She then said,  “My step dad has four cousins who are like his brothers (huge Italian family) and my step dad owns a portable toilet business and one of our toilets are at Scott Frost’s house. Our worker went to clean it and Scott was outside so he mentioned that Fidone’s uncle owns the toilet. Scott said get him on the phone! So Scott called my step dad and said please come have a beer with me, I want Thomas, what do we need to do?”

I am going to ask her tomorrow during work for more deets. Like if he actually went and had that beer and if Scott was worried they were behind, and how long ago this was.
