Is he a take if Savea doesn't go our way or roll the dice with the portal? We appear deep at that position with some youth coming up so he'd have time to develop.

Falck and Martin are not bad. But if they are your top 3/4 guys then you are in a world of hurt.

It's a results based business and I can't argue with that. I'm just saying I'm not letting a full year and this disjointed mess of a year say that those two can't contribute in their next three full seasons.

If they can’t start over Warner, Falck, Liewer, & martin by now they are basically done for. Let’s be honest. There’s a very, very small chance they pan out.

Falk and Martin are talented guys that have more experience than either of those two guys. Liewer is a different story, but the other two were brought in because they were thought to be able to have an immediate impact. With three seasons left and one regular season and this weird covid one being their only opportunity, I don't think I'm going to write them off but obviously I may be in the minority there.

I have no expectations for those two, they're just guys who have been here. It would be nice to see one or both of them find a role, but yeah the focus is more on the next wave. Just not sure the new signees will immediately leap past them.

Also a good point, those 3 would all be among our best signees this year. But I think Savea and Dickerson will both need a year or two wherever they go, and Ho'ohuli happens to play a spot where we do have some young guys emerging. But he could easily push for time if we get him signed.

Aren't Houston and Nance RS Sophmores? There is still time there.

Good luck with Nance & Houston I fully imagine between last class & this 2021 group they will be pretty far down the depth chart.

If they land Savea, Dickerson, & Ho’ohuli I see more impact players there.

Three guys here could definitely alter the final perception of this class. Where it stands is pretty fantastic and if we miss these three I really hope it doesn't completely damper the mood on this haul. Though that would be a very disappointing, but possible end.

Exactly, he has raw tools such as fantastic arm strength but mechanics etc will need some tweaking as well as footwork. IE What Coach Verdu says he is doing with Adrian and Luke and to a lesser extent Smothers...

Had a hard time deciding between +1 or laughing face

  7. I'm not QB guru but I'm going to pretend to be right now. Seems like he throws falling backwards at even the slightest hint of pressure. He definitely looks like a big work in progress while being a really good athlete. Smothers is going to really have to step up or Luke/Adrian will have to learn to be better with progressions and accuracy. It's hard to imagine Heinrich being ready to go in his first two years.

At some got adjusted slightly by 247. Now a composite .8701, the #29 rated ILB. An 87 by 247, and the #26 ILB.

Rivals rated him as the #21 ILB, 3 star

ESPN has him as a 76 (3 star), #91 ILB.

Also, all of the sites have him at 220 lbs now.

@The_Fan_Manjust watched it as well. Looks like he loves to blitz, with pretty good awareness (not sure of the school size).

    What was he before

I think it's being blown out of proportion a little bit anyway, he didn't claim he'd be immediately better than Allen. And he has more physical talent, so he should be down the road. But I also think even though he said "at one point," he does actually believe that will be next year - and that I love. Will he be better than Allen right away, probably not. Allen has been really really good, like you said. But we need guys who are trying to pass other guys, not just waiting their turn. He's probably not passing Allen and Vokolek right away, but he's much more athletic so I could see him being used as the #2 even if he's really the #3.

That's pretty high for low expectations, our starting TE has only hit that mark 3 times in the last decade. Kyler Reed had 395 in 2010 and 357 in 2012, and Tyler Hoppes had 377 in 2017. Allen is technically on pace for ~360 if we assumed 12 games for this year. But if Fidone gets 350 as a true freshman probably not even starting, I will be all aboard the hype train! I'm already mostly aboard anyway.

I think we completely agree on this subject and my statement was more of there is talent and the room and bring on the competition. We need that competitive drive.

  10. Allen will have a lot to say about this. He's really coming into his own. That being said, the internal competition and fire needs to be stepped up a bit and the more guys like this the better. Hope he can back it up.

  11. Sure hope that the waiting until February is the case. Staff would have done a spectacular job with in state recruits this year if they can make this flip. Johnson may be arguably the best, but to secure 6 out of the top 7 true D1 talents would be a big deal.

Especially heading into a year where it may be a challenge to snag even half of the current rated 4 for 2022..
